Truck Rental With Trailer Hitch?

Anyone here have any experience with renting a truck or an SUV with a trailer hitch?

I am going to be helping a friend move to Vegas, but she doesn't have that much stuff (should all fit in a Uhaul trailer), and a moving truck rental (Uhaul, Penske, etc.) is crazy stupid expensive.

Make sure you get a sleeve, not all balls and hitches fit all trucks.

Most trick rentals actually have in the fine print you can nt tow with it.
Ryder trucks is the line exception I am aware of.

yeah. I work pretty closely with Enterprise and the don't allow towing, other car rental companies as well. You will likely have to do Uhaul.

I've done the Uhaul thing multiple times...but all local moves. I assume if you are going outside of a certain radius from their location, you're getting dinged for mileage?
