Defense

Grembowski leads my team with tackles and grabbed a sack as well. Good job! We were..okay…in sacks. Better than I would have thought but not…good.

Pass Coverage

Not the best year with picks or really badly with pasdef, but there you have it!

The Bucs tagged Kirk and then resigned him. I need a stud Rb and WR. Any in the draft? We have an As Scouted RB near the top of the board. I interview players to target at 2.1.

I sign my RFAs and have 125 mill available.

What UFAs am I chasing?

TE Gary Benson

OC Chandler Macias

OG Peyton Shelby again

WILB Dashawn Willis

Week 2 – Willis joins us

Week 3 – Macias joins us

Week 7 – Shelby comes out way this time

Week 9 – Benson joins us!

We head to the draft!

The 2056 NFL Amateur Draft

Wanna see my top choice here at 1.1? Okay!

Here you go! Hopefully he won’t bust! He’s not as well rounded with the rushing as I’d like, given his lower power inside, but beggars can’t be choosers.

I grab him.

2.1 - OT Jaime Bennett is okay. DE Adrian Crouse is someone who fell. MLB Jimmy Armstrong? I do Bennett.

3.1 – There is a great FB on the board – FB Bernard Morris. Do I want to grab him? Or OG Cody Storm? Or MLB Christopher Vila? FS Terry McConnell? I do Storm.

4.1 – I need a decent WR for now and the best is WR Christopher Glenn. Do I want to grab him? Or WR Morris Irwin? I prefer Glenn.

5.1 – DE Marshall Hailey? Sure let’s do it.

6.1 –FS Percy Ferguson? I do Ferguson. He looks like a grower.

7.1 - DT Joel Garibaldi seems solid.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.1 – RB Stan Londesbrough, Cincinnati, 61/79
2.1 – OT Jaime Bennett, Rutgers, 26/57
3.1 – OG Cody Storm, Kentucky, 24/56
4.1 – WR Christopher Glenn, Florida, 37/52
5.1 – DE Marshall Hailey, New Mexico State, 31/50
6.1 – FS Percy Ferguson, Michigan, 24/33
7.1 – DT Joel Garibaldi, UCLA, 31/53

There you go!

The 2056 NFL Preseason

I hand out rests and massage my depth chart.

Week 2 – Cincinnati – We win 24-21!

Week 3 – At Augusta – We lose 32-7. Ah well.

Week 4 – Cleveland – We win 23-17!

Week 5 – At Houston – Can we win today and have a winning preseason record? Nope! We lose 39-14.

We finish 2-2 and at least didn’t have a losing preseason.

Ready for my top two rookies?

Here’s the 1.1 pick coming out of the draft. His speed held, but his power inside is also weak. He’s good at the other running stats and he’s an…okay…receiver. I’ll ride him like a pretty pony. With a 61 pot QB we’ll need to make this Londesbrough’s team.

Here’s the 2/1 pick, OT Jaime Bennett. He grew like last year’s 2nd round OT, and looks to be a future star. As you can see he’s good at blocking as well as the pancakes of blocking. But he’s not very endurable and he’ll need replacements oftener than normal. At the 33rd pick in the draft that’s an acceptable tradeoff for a guy who’s this balanced.

On The Green Page we have those two and DE Hailey as well.

Rookie Investigation

There were no Qbs with a pot higher than 61 this year

At Rb, after he busted a bit, our guy is now the 2nd best RB in the draft. The best is 61/74.

At FB, if we had grabbed the guy at the top of the 3rd? He would have been 51/71, and I wish I would have taken him and turned him into a TE…

Three strong TEs in the draft

This was a weak draft for WR and the best was 61 pot. Our guy wound up being the 6th best in the draft.

The best player in the draft was OC Cooper Armstrong, a 53/78 guy grabbed in the 4th round by the Panthers.

At OG, the best has 64 pot, just four more than our guy at 2nd.

After booming, OT Bennett is the best one. There are two more right behind him at 68 pot.

DT Garibaldi was the 4th best DT, and DE Hailey was the 3rd best DE

This was a weak LB draft. Only 3 in the 60s.

FS Ferguson was the 4th best S and 6th best D back in the draft

The 2056 NFL Regular Season

As a reminder I’ll fast sim anything that’s not a win. Or maybe a fun 37-41 loss. Ready?

After a surprising 2-2 in the preseason I think we’ll go 4-12.

Week 1 – At Detroit – We open with an away game against a fellow NFC North team who made it to the playoffs last year. (The Bears did as well and the Packers were 9-7, this is a rough division). We lose 16-19

Week 2 – Indy – We lose 7-21

Week 3 - At Greenville – We lose 12-17

Week 4 – At Green Bay – We lose 19-20

My FB is out for a while and I massage my roster

Week 5 – Tampa Bay – hello old team! We lose 41-17. They are now 5-0

Week 6 – At Atlanta – We lose 20—45

Week 7 – Carolina – hello another old team! We lose 16-23

Week 8 – Chicago – We win 25-19! MVp is QB Ferguson with 26 of 45, 288, 2:1. Rookie Glenn was 9 for 125 and 1 score. Score by WR Parker. Londesborough is 24 for 103. Pick by FS Ferguson. FumREC TD by DE Snyder. 4 pasdef by Arellano.

My FB is back. TE Hawkins is out.

I check out WR. There is a Hard to Read stud WR and I interview elsewhere to see if I can find a decent 2.1.

There is a stud P that’s underrated that I like called Liam Gonzalez. This appears to be a solid WR draft and I might get a decent one at 2.1. I interview three Stud Qbs. Do I take another QB and let Ferguson go?

I sign my RFAs and I have 132 in cash free

Any targets I want to chase?

WR Fairfield

FB Silas Bensen

TE Preston

WILB Sellars

SILB John Alston wants 119 mill over 5 years, I hold off

I make offers to the rest.

Week 3 – Sellars joins us

Week 4 – Preston joins us; Alston heads to Seattle

Week 6 – Bensen arrives

Week 11 – Fairfield joins us

Alright, let’s look at who I am considering.

Here is the top WR and as you can see, he’s well rounded and has a Hard to Read rating. Normally, you’d do it, right?

And here is Kennedy a stud QB that’s underrated. He’s good at everything other than deep passes.

Who do you go with? The stud QB who’s much better than Ferguson or a maybe stud WR? Which one do you do? Is taking Kennedy throwing good money after bad?

Ferguson has dropped to 47/59.

……….

I can find WRs I can’t find a Kennedy.

Which one would you do?

The 2057 NFL Preseason

I hand out 14 deactives and massage my depth chart.

Week 2 - New England – We win 20-17

Week 3 – At Las Vegas – We lose 24-20

Week 4 – At NY Jets – We win 27-17

Week 5- Kansas City – We win 26-20

Another good preseason and we finish 3-1.

Rookie Lookie #3

1.1 – QB Wayne Kennedy, Florida, 18/87; 27/86; 27/84
2.1 – MLB Enrique Sheldon, Virginia, 33/47; 39/51; 45/73

7.1 – FS Corey Andrews, Washington State, 16/32; 22/37; 19/44

Well Kennedy didn’t fall (much) and Sheldon grew as expected. Plumier was a surprise as I thought he was a shower, and a 68 DT a the top of the 3rd was a good investment, but he grew 11 pot. I am surprised that Andrews didn’t grew as much as I thought he would, but he did grow.

UFAs

DE Arnie Tapp, 33/60; 37/55; 36/52

SILB Colby Bullock, 21/52; 28/54; 23/32
C Ralph Ahn, 21/57; 26/53; 27/50

All fell in pot. Man we got to do better with my UFAs.

I cut these 7 to get to 53

WR Tucker Ng
WR Rob Kozlowski

I extend these players from my first draft: OT McDonald, DE Snyder. They were a little over 200 mill total over a ton of years.

Wanna see my top two rookies?

Okay!

Here is the admittedly green Kennedy who looks much better than QB Ferguson. He’s the future of our franchise! Hopefully.

Here is my top pick in the 2nd round LB Sheldon which I moved to SLB. He’s not good at the pass rush or tech or punching, but he’s fine against the coverage, and run and play D and hitting.

On the Green Page we have Kennedy, Plumier, and P Gonzalez! That’s the first time I’ve seen a P on The Green Page!

Rookie Investigation

At QB, Kennedy is the best QB by potential and the best BQ in the league by potential. There is a 29.78 guy right behind him as well who was taken by Miami at the 1.5 spot. And that’s it, no other QB has more than 50 pot.

This was a weak draft for RB.

TE Walters we were thinking of taking at 2.1 wound up being a 45/72 guy. Had I known that I would have grabbed him!

This was a top heavy WR. Three 70+ WR, 4 60+, but just 2 50+, one of which was our WR. Blackburn, that we were looking at with the 1. 1 spot wound up busting a bit and was 46/66.

Remember OG Graybill we were looking at at 3.1? He wound up the best OG in the draft at 27.72. Blast! Again, I wish I would have known that…

This was a one OT draft with one in the mid-60s and then just 3 in the 50s.

Owen Plumier boomed into the best NT in the draft and the best D Line.

At LB Sheldon boomed into the 2nd best LB in the draft. LB Cunningham was 7th best

I liked SS DeVault at the 2.1 and he wound up as a studly 51.81 and the 2nd best d back in the draft. I might have grabbed him instead had I known.

Gonzalez is the best P in the draft, the best P in the league and…the best PLAYER in the league at any position.

Cool!

The 2057 NFL Regular Season

As this is likely another high loss season due to my very poor first draft and rookie QB again, I’ll be fast simming again with me fleshing out wins only.

I suspect we’ll finish 5-11

Week 1 – Green Bay – The Super Bowl winning Packers are on the road for our season opener. Can we catch them? Close! We lose 16-19.

OT Rivers is out for a few weeks

Week 2 – At Cleveland – We lose 37-7

Week 3 – Greenville – We win 24-20! Game MVP is Kennedy, his first, with 19 of 24, 315 and 2:0. Glenn is 10 for 128; Preston is 4 for 116, scores by Fairfield and Fina, picks by Willis and Sheldon, FF by Sheldon, rec by Garibaldi

Good stuff!

Week 4 – BYE

Week 5 – Seattle – We lose 34-8

We are 1-3 at the first quarter mark.

Week 15 – At Chicago – Another close loss 24-27

Week 16 – Baltimore – We win 27-3. MVP is Kennedy with 28 of 36, 289 and 2:0. Scores by Glenn with 78 for 113 and Fina, 6 for 103. Londesbrough with a rush score. Pick by Fletcher, FF by Dunlap and Ferguson, Horton a recovery.

Week 17 – Detroit – We lose 29-13

We finish 3-13 and…we have the top pick next year. Chicago won the NFC North with a 12-4 record. They tied Tampa Bay for the best record in the NFC.

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Kennedy – 323 of 491, 3172, 15:16, 80.4 ratng

Much better than QB Ferguson in his rookie year!

Rushing

RB Londesbrough – 302 for 1388, 4.60 ypc, 8 scores

Londesbrough was 2nd in the league in yards and tied for 4th in TDs. The league leader in yards was 1413 so not that far off.

Receiving

Glenn finished with 1000+ yards with a rookie QB starting. Kennedy is much better! Only six WR in the league grabbed 1000 yards or more, so Glenn had a strong year! You can see Bensen’s 3 scores and 270 yards. I wish Londesbrough had had a better year in receiving this year which may have led to no All Pro.

Blocking

As you can see, Macias led in KRB again this year, but has more than last. Good stuff Macias! His block % was lethally good. Just 3 sacks on a rookie Qb.

Special Teams

K Poston – 23 of 33, :Long of 55, 27 of 27 PAT

10 missed FG? We can’t have that Poston.

P Gonzalez – 85 punts, 49.8 AVG, 41 in 20

That was the best avg in the league and an almost 50% in 20 was great. He was robbed of All Pro…

We had no RET TDs this year

OT Rivers led my team with 24 special teams tackle despite being out.

Defense

Grembowski and Willis tied for 110 tackle each. Willis grabbed ne 2 sacks and rookie Sheldon 2. We had a worse year in sacks this year than last. We need to get better in the sackage. With 5 FF, Ferguson led my team in FF again

Pass Coverage

We had a down year in picks last year, but this one? Wow. That was sucky.

Off. Player of the Year – FB Silas Bensen – This was his first All Pro after dropping to 52/52. Good stuff 10 year vet!

Def. Player of the Year – FS Percy Ferguson – Led my team in 5 FF by 3 and pasdef by 4. Good stuff!

Special teams Player of the Year – P Liam Gonzalez – I also like him for Rookie of the Year, but he was a weapon in the punting game. Good stuff rookie!

Rookie of the Year – SLB Enrique Sheldon – He finished 3rd on my team with tackles, tied for 1st in picks, notched 6 pasdef, and grabbed me 2 sacks. Good stuff rookie!

Heart Award – WR Cornelius Fina – He finished with a 100+ yard game, 493 yards, 2 scores and looked good for my top backup WR.

Previously I make it to my first winning season in year 3 of my dynasties. With the Bucs, it wasn’t until season 4, but my 3rd season we had enough wins to get top 10 pick but not the worst record. We had a not-great RB in Lemoine I took at the top of the 1st round that wasn’t ever dominant and busted. Here in Richmond we had a bustish QB despite the very underrated record that dropped from the heights to an okay signal caller. Now I redrafted a QB in year 3. How will that set me behind? Will we struggle in Year 4 to win as well?

Let’s find out~

I end the season and score a 19

The 2048 NfL Offseason

I am given a warning to begin winning by the owner.

Hall of Fame

None

Retirements of Note

Richmond Rattlesnakes?

None

Tampa Bay Bucs?

None either

Other Abe’s Boys

WR Drake Storm – UFA with the Bucs who played most of his career with the Pats.

NT Alexis Drew – Solid NT with the Bucs. Finished without any Rings or awards.

SLB Allen Nemecheck – A stud special teams ace that I had with the Bucs for a long time. 2 Rings

Staff Draft

I retain most of my staff and give them raises. We draft 23rd and….

I hire a new HC – this guy has a suitability of 74 vs my 64. My new HC is Eddie Dubroc, a 45 year old who loves RBs.

While at it I hire a better DC, Jordan Phillips also a True 3-4 guy with a better scouting and 4 better suitability rating.

I make no other changes.

Remember I cannot make changes once we begin to win as that wouldn’t make sense in real life. But after a 3-13 and 3rd consecutive losing season with the same staff? That’s VERY realistic!

I don’t franchise anyone.

I review the draft. Do I have a stud WR to pick from this time? Nope we sure don’t…

We have two studs to choose from! One underrated…

I interview some players that might still be on the board at the 2.1 spot such as OG, OC, LB, and TE and WR.

I sign all of my RFAs save for that awful RB. I have 52 under contract and 75 free for new players.

Who is the final year of their deal that I might want to extend?

K Poston – I’ll wait until post draft and camp to resign
C Macias – Ditto
TE Preston – Too old and expensive to resign right now, I’ll hold off for him as well
OG Shelby – Ditto Preston
SS Grembowski – Ditto Preston comments
WR Fairfield – I’ll not extend for now
QB Ferguson – Too pricey to be a good backup
OT Rivers – Backup may not need extending
DE Lemon -Will let go

I extend backup CB Avery Terry for three years and 16 mill total.

Tons of other okay backups. Not right now.

Any UFAs I wanna chase?

These are free

TE Clay Sanford, wants 105 mill over 5 years.

Stud OT Jeffrey Porter, wants 81 mill over 5 years

That’s it. I could sign them both and spend around 200 mill and get a 60/60 TE and a stud OT that I could move to OG. However I was hoping to grab a stud OG in this draft for Shelby or a good TE.

I chase both. I have the cap space.

Week 2 – Porter signs. I move him to OG

Week 6 – Sanford signs with us

Let’s head to ye olde draft

The 2058 NFL Amateur Draft

We are up!

Here are the two WRs that are stud-like.

This is Heath Watson, he likely top pick by me. He’s good everywhere with a dip in downfielding, and underrated. Nice right?

And here is the other WR at the top of ye old draft and the 2nd best WR there. Gamez is worse at ball adjustment and is Hard to Read. However, he is good as KR which I need another on my team. My KR is WR Fina and he’s 62 in KR. But I like two as you’ll get two KRs running around.

I’ll take Watson…

2.1 – No TEs have gone off the board. I could grab TE Louis Trabosh or Ricky Moy. I like Moy more. The stud OC we were targeting went off the board at 1.19. WLB Edwin Cobbins is the best LB on the board. I go TE and grab Moy.

3.1 – I could grab the 2nd best OC on the board as no others have been taken - Dustin Bissett. Let’s do it.

4.1 – K Cris Kanpurwala is still on the board and looks like a stud… Do I wanna replace Poston? He’s older. I grab him.

5.1 – FS Devante Westbrook seems pretty solid.

6.1 – How about R.J. Woodson a SILB?

I interviewed him and he’s still on the board! Very underrated but bad bars.

7.1 – DT Pat Kennedy? OG Bernie Woods? I take Woods.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.1 - WR Heath Watson, Ohio State, 47/83
2.1 – TE Rickey Moy, Cal – Poly, 41/68
3.1 – OC Dustin Bissett, Utah State, 34/52
4.1 – K Cris Kanpurwala, Kansas, 55/85
5.1 – S Devante Westbrook, Wake Forest, 24/63
6.1 – ILB R.J. Wilson, Notre Dame, 22/57
7.1 – OG Bernie Woods, Memphis, 21/53

Solid Stuff!

Cb Ezekiel Drake, good PR

Week 1 – None Sign

Week 2 – 3 Sign

Week 3 – The rest sign

UFAs

DT Pat Kennedy, 32/70
WR Albert Bennett, 20/47
CB Robbie Jefferson, 17/44

I hand out 14 rests and create my depth chart

Week 2 – At NY Jets – We lose 31-38

Week 3 – Denver – We win 23-10

Week 4 – At New England – We win 26-19

Week 5 – LA Chargers – We win 30-24

Again 3-1 like last year…

Rookie Lookie #3

1.1 - WR Heath Watson, Ohio State, 47/83; 54/84; 53/80
2.1 – TE Rickey Moy, Cal – Poly, 41/68; 45/68; 47/71

7.1 – OG Bernie Woods, Memphis, 21/53; 24/52; 23/44

Wilson busted despite his very underrated? I didn’t see that. I have moved Westbrook to CB. I thought Bissett would boom more than 5 and contend with Macias. Woods dropped sadly.

UFAs

DT Pat Kennedy, 32/70; 37/70; 38/66
WR Albert Bennett, 20/47; 23/44; 23/37
CB Robbie Jefferson, 17/44; 21/41; 23/33
WR Shannon Deyo, 25/46; 27/45; 23/41
Cb Ezekiel Drake, 23/49; 27/49; 29/51

Well, I wanted to move Kennedy to DE but couldn’t. I can’t use a 2nd good NT. Drake actually rose. Weird I know. Drake’s numbers in returning are 60/68 Pr and 36/45 KR, and I have a better KR at Deyo (55/76).

I cut these players to get to 53

TE Gary McLellan
C Ralph Ahn
FS Corey Andrews
CB Raymond Fletcher
WR Cornelius Fina
WR Irving Parker
