Computer Question - Failure to boot?
Calling on the collective wisdom - I know I've had this problem before but I forget what the solution was.
When I turn on my computer it hangs on bootup before getting to windows and I get a blackscreen. However if I pull the battery and reboot it then it will boot all the way through to windows...it's that i need to rebuild my MBR right? What's the best tool for that?

Now that is freaking odd... not sure how a messed up MBR would cause the pc not to boot up with the battery. My thought was a bad battery.

i dunno - maybe it's not the MBR...but i don't think it's the battery on the laptop...i could try booting it up with the battery out i guess...
