I screwed some things up on this team but can hopefully bring things together with a little creativity. I have a ton of bodies of offense, I'll cycle guys in and out into favorable matchups the first few months as I gradually try to put together a more balanced roster through trades and FA aquisitions. There's definitely a lot of power and speed there, and things will look a lot better when A-Rod returns.

The pitching staff is built around the 4 decent closers and Lester, I'll play matchups after that, and probably rely heavily on middle relievers for ERA/WHIP/HLDS, and then just use mediocre free agent starters that have favorable matchups

12 team H-2-H league, at Yahoo:
Catagories: R, H, HR, RBI, SB, TB, OBP, SLG, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB, QS

Team (round picked in parens):

C - Mike Napoli LAA (13)
1B - Derrek Lee ChC (9)
2B - Dustin Pedroia BOS (2)
3B - Evan Longoria TB (3)
SS - Jose Reyes NYM (1)
OF - Alfonso Soriano ChC (4)
OF - Nick Markakis BAL (5)
OF - Matt Kemp LAD (7)
U - Lastings Milledge WAS (15)

SP - Roy Oswalt HOU (6)
SP - Felix Hernandez SEA (8)
SP - Adam Wainwright StL (11)
RP - Kerry Wood CLE (10)
RP - Matt Capps PIT (12)
P - Matt Garza TB (14)
P - Eric Bedard SEA (16)

BN - Gil Meche KC SP (17)
BN - James Loney LAD 1B (18)
BN - Delmon Young MIN OF (19)
BN - Jose Arredondo LAA RP (20)
BN - Kelly Shoppach CLE C (21)
BN - Brandon Wood LAA 3B, SS (22)

I think I got some great value here, especially in the OF. I don't think people really know much about Kemp (they should). The first three rounds went Reyes, Pedroia, Longoria filling up the infield with talent. I got a good number of mid-level starts who could break out, such as Garza and Bedard (I think Wainwright is going to be excellent, though, higher than 11).

Catcher and 1B I'm a bit weak on. Going after other IF positions, I skimped on 1B and hope Lee doesn't suck. Napoli, if he stays healthy can be very good and I'm hoping Shoppach can keep it up (and get playing time). RP is a servicable, but not great (though Arrendondo can be lights out).

Delmon Young and Wood are my two prospect-types. Milledge is also a young up and comer, but I think he's begun to prove himself.

P Max Scherzer($5)

P Joakim Soria ($2) - Keeper
P Jair Jurrgens ($1)
P Jeremy Guthrie ($1) <----replaced with Jason Motte

I know I heavily loaded up on closers, but in our scoring system, a good closer is as good as a top starting pitcher. Last year Rivera had as many points as Brandon Webb, Papelbon was right there with Hamels and Soria had as many as Dan Haren.

Offensively I changed my focus and went heavy after some proven guys instead of taking chances on guys like Hafner, Gordon and Byrnes that I made last year. Went cheap at 3B and SS, but I think those 2 can bounce back.

Background. This is a 5 year old Keeper league. I took over one of the worst teams last year like 1 week before the draft. So I've been doing what I can to build back up. 17 keeper league. Prospect heavy league. Here is where I am. Feeling like I've improved, but I'm still short on power and speed, and my pitching is suspect. I'm good at finding starting pitching throughout the season, but really need to get more Ks.

I almost started this thread last night. Our league has 8 guys and is still NL only so I'll avoid posting my team as it'll be tough for anyone to judge given that everyone does mixed leagues anymore.

I prefer AL or NL only leagues personally so have at it.

I'm hoping some FOFC Hardcore League owners will step on in here and give me a detailed breakdown of their team.

NL only, 5 x 5 but OBP instead of Average, weekly matchup

C -- Pablo Sandoval, Brian Schneider
1b -- Adrian Gonzalez
2b -- Orlando Hudson
3b -- Garrett Atkins
ss -- Hanley Ramirez
CI -- Casey Blake
MI -- Christian Guzman
OF -- Carlos Lee, Matt Kemp, Jay Bruce, Justin Upton, Cody Ross
Utility -- Ryan Spilboroughs
Bench -- Colby Rasmus, Travis Ishikawa

Starters -- Dan Haren, Yovani Gallardo, Matt Cain, Clayton Kershaw, Wandy Rodriguez, Braden Looper, Max Scherzer, Jordan Zimmerman

Relievers -- Jonathon Broxton, Heath Bell, Matt Lindstrom, Jon Rauch, and Carlos Villanueva

I already have a trade in the works -- Rauch and Villanueva for Arroyo as a guy has Qualls and Hoffman and is worried about both.

I might be wrong but I feel like my offense is just loaded. I wanted two top notch starters -- I feel like I got them in Haren and Gallardo. I wanted two closers who weren't going to loser their jobs -- I feel like I got them with Broxton and Bell. I'm a little worried about how the rest of my pitching staff filled out but I feel like it has the potential to be a really good staff.

I have no idea if I'm a contender or not. I know I didn't get a lot of guys I targeted:

C - Brian McCann
1B - Lance Berkman
2B - Kazuo Matsui
SS - Hanley Ramirez
3B - Ryan Zimmerman
OF - Carlos Quentin
OF - Magglio Ordonez
OF - Torii Hunter
Util - Carlos Delgado
Bench - Carlos Pena
Bench - Jorge Cantu
Bench - Ryan Theriot
SP - Brandon Webb
SP - Dan Haren
SP - Cliff Lee
RP - Bobby Jenks
RP - Trevor Hoffman (DL, damn)
RP - Chad Qualls
Bench - Derek Lowe
Bench - Adam Wainwright
Bench - Randy Johnson

I need to drop someone for another reliever. Who do you suggest to drop?

My NL only league

C - Snyder $6*
1B - Gonzalez $17*
2B - Bonifacio $5*
SS - Reyes $50*
3B - Encarnacion $15*
MI - Baker $1
CI - Pujols $47
OF - Ankiel $5*
OF - Pence $22*
OF - S. Smith $3
OF - C. Dickerson $6
OF - Kearns $1
U - Milledge $10*
P - Cueto $5*
P - Scherzer $15*
P - Blanton $16*
P - Lannan $5*
P - Maholm $3*
P - Bell $6*
P - Motte $5*
P - A. Sanchez $5*
P - M. Corpas $1
P - J. Burton $1

Minors - B. Wallace, L. Morrison, C. Coghlan, A. Villalona, G. Hernandez

(* denotes Keeper). I blew my money on Pujols and Reyes and sat around the rest of the draft waiting for guys. I don't have any top flight pitchers, but I should be able to hold the fort down with those guys. I'm not a contending team in our league (there are 2 that are clear favorites), but I'm in the mix for 3-5th place so once the teams that are at the bottom start dealing, I could have some pieces to trade.
