EarthQuake hits JAPAN

Just heard this on the news. Saying that a 7.0 quake has struck Tokio. I hope that preliminary reports are just that and not as bad.

560 miles away from Tokyo. Triggered a Tsunami of possibly 20 inches. I guessing that wouldn't hurt anybody unless they were really bad swimmers.

A Tsunami of 20 inches? I have absolutely no response to this, it has left me speech less, and over all less intelligent as I try to combine 20 inches, and Tsunami into a picture and it eats away my brain cells.

What the hell is with the action text there?? "Luche libre en accion?" and "Con Aftershock!" I don't know SPanish, so I have no idea what this says... but it seems weird.

I think that means "Wrestling Action" and "with Aftershock(his finishing move)"

I think he put someone in the corner and did a running body spash into them.

BTW, Earthquake went on to become Avalanche, woohoo! And I think there was at one time a wrestler named Tsunami that wrestled with Earthquake.

No, No, No. Typhoon was his name, he was originaly Tugboat. Then he went to WCW and Dusty Rhodes decided to push him as The Shockmaster. So at a live Clash Of Champions Sting is announcing the 4th member of his team for War Games and he gets all excited and screams out "Shockmaster!!!" And the plan is for the dude to burst thru the wall with this giant tin foil helmet on while a voiceover proclaims the coming of the Shockmaster. But alas things went so wrong, the dude trips coming thru the wall, the masks falls off and this 400 pound doof is on his hands and knees in a pile of rubble trying to get his tin foil mask back on, the whole time the voice over is actually running as if nothing went wrong and Sting is laughing his ass off. Needless to say the entire angle was ruined and poor Shockmaster never got much of a push after that.

That is friggin awesome. I wish wrestlecrap still had its multimedia section, so much gold.
Sid Vicious declaring to Kevin Nash "I'm twice the man you are, and I have half the brain you do" On a live Nitro is still a classic.

In other news, John Tenta (AKA Earthquake) is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, not sure if he's going to make it.

Well, back to the earthquake in japan. I was on the board here at about 11:00AM local time here in Korea and I noticed the computer monitor swaying as well as my chair kind of rocking. So, I asking my wife if she felt that and she said she did. Now living in korea for many years and knowing the poor building code here and history of high rises collasping we were hoping it was an earthquake and not our apartment building buckling before collapsing . We live on the 17th floor so it was alittle unnerving at first.Remember I'm from Boston not too many quakes out there.

No, actually our apartment is a real nice complex but you never know what went on when they were laying the concrete. There is along record of buildings not being built up to standards.

In order to try and steer this ship back to the intended topic, I can explain why a Tsunami of 20 inches is a big deal in Japan: The Tsunami looks a lot bigger than 20 inches when you factor in the guy in the Godzilla suit is really about 5'5". When Ultra Man comes to save Tokyo from the wrath of Godzilla and a giant Tsunami comes across the island. Let's just say it's pretty cool seeing a wall of water up to their knees...

Actually a 20 inch Tsunami could be 100 feet deep with most of it underwater and as it comes inland it comes up on to the shore thus being much higher.

John Tenta ran a wresling school in the same town that I got all my pilot ratings (Sanford, FL outside Orlando). You could always go to the promotions he would put together. It seemed funny to me that of all the places he would end up he chose there.
