Yep team move (to a fictional town) and name change. 3ric was more or less correct about the names. Abdul Alhazred was the auther of the Necronomicon. The others were either created or borrowed for the Cthulu Mythos. |

I think I'm just going to pass and root for Travis's guys. I keep running into problems with putting guys on my team: I didn't really care for Carlson at QB (in fact, I think I was one of a few people who never sat there yelling that the backup QB was superman), I don't want any guys thought of as Titans (George, Kearse, McNair), and a lot of the better guys spent time elsewhere (Slaughter, Fuller). I was thinking about making my favorite Tecmo Bowl team. A long time ago, I ran an entire season in Tecmo Super Bowl with, count 'em, 5 different teams (although I had to simulate one team when two of my teams played). I think Marion Butts had 3000 yards rushing, Warren Moon and Steve Young with some ungodly number passing, and a couple of guys with about a billion sacks. Fun stuff! However, I couldn't remember anyone except QBs, RBs, WRs and Junior Seau.
So instead, I went with another team I played around with, this time in Madden franchise mode. Some people do crazy stuff during spring break- get drunk every day (no fun), go to the beach (nothing new here: I grew up in Corpus and Houston), or just have crazy sex (too dangerous), if movies are to be believed. But I'm a dork, so a friend and I played Madden for something like 18 hours straight one day playing in franchise mode, only stopping the sim to play head-to-head and Super Bowl games. He took Tampa Bay and I went with Jacksonville for many resons: good talent base, wasn't in cap hell, Tony Boselli rocks because anyone who is a franchise player at offensive lineman gets my vote for badass, and I'm a moron for always picking Fred Taylor on my fantasy team, immediately getting that sinking feeling in my gut, and watching him get hurt year after year. QB: Mark Brunell (Near Superstar) RB: Fred Taylor (Superstar) WR: Jimmy Smith (Elite Starter) WR: Keenan McCardell (Excellent Starter) OT: Tony Boselli (Rare Superstar) DE: Tony Brackens (Near Superstar) LB: Kevin Hardy (Elite Starter) CB: Aaron Beasley (Excellent Starter- ok, so that's a stretch, but I wanted another defensive player and the only other Jag I could think of was Leon Searcy) SI

You have to love mindless Texas bashing from people who probably haven't stayed in the state for more than a week or two. And yes, the St. Louis Maroons are an all old Aggie team.(Jeeber, here's a cookie, and a punch in the eye for taking the Cowboys!) I was trying to go for some older players, but it turns out my memory isn't as good as I thought it was, and there aren't a whole lot of sites to find that info around. I'm excited about this Dynasty, I can't wait til it starts! Edited for content. Last edited by Tasan : 10-19-2003 at 09:46 PM. |

Yep. Sorry for the delay. I'm nearly done adding all the players to the player file, and I'll start simming here soon.
I was busy all weekend and the first few days this week migrating my company from Novell 5 to Windows 2003 - it's been a lot of long hours, and slowed down the player creation process for me. I may take some of the teams that have been "unclaimed" and throw some more players in them (probably not all 8), just to make it interesting... but if you have other teams that you'd like to take, go ahead and post them if you want. |

Eeek...Novell to Microsoft??? ;-) This past summer we finally upgraded our network (I work for a school district) from NW 4.11 to NW 6...and so far, so good. Definitely worth the trouble. But, the biggest headache we've had is the W2K server we've had to install simply because one of our apps will ONLY run on IIS...BRUTAL. Needless to say, we're looking for an alternative so we can get the IIS box as far away from our office as possible!!! |

OK... all the teams that have been submitted are complete. They are:
Washington Redskins Dallas Cowboys Mos Eisley Banthas (Arizona) New Orleans Saints New York Giants New England Patriots Philadelphia Eagles Houston Oilers Minnesota Vikings Chicago Bears San Francisco 49ers Detroit Lions Miami Dolphins Arkham Avengers (Indianapolis) Pittsburgh Steelers Cleveland Browns St. Louis Maroons Jacksonville Jaguars Cincinnati Reservoir Dogs By my calculation, the following teams are still available: Baltimore Colts Tennessee Titans Buffalo Bills New Jersey Jets Denver Broncos Kansas City Chiefs Oakland Raiders San Diego Chargers Green Bay Packers Atlanta Falcons Carolina Panthers Tampa Bay Buccaneers Seattle Seahawks If nobody claims these in the next few hours or so, well, that's fine with me... I've had enough fun making custom players. I might go ahead and sprinkle a few players in the unclaimed teams just for giggles, but otherwise, expect an actual sim update here soon. Any suggestions or feedback, please let me know. Last edited by Franklinnoble : 10-23-2003 at 03:08 PM. |

I already have my team but I have a team idea if you're interested for one of the computer controlled ones. Replace the Panthers or Seahawks since no one would notice...

Freely - excellent starter (Other names used as Simpson prank calls): Mike Rotch, Maya Buttreeks, Anita Bath, Bea O'Problem, Homer Sexual) SI

The Matrix is loaded and the teams have been seeded with the players created by the consortium of evil overlords. The simulation begins - one season will be simulated, and then off-season moves will be made. Very little management will be done in the first season.
I'll post updates after the first season is simmed, and then I'll need your draft pick suggestions. While those are being submitted, I'll sim a year in TCY to generate the draft file. Any suggestions regarding the configuration of the TCY game are welcome. I'm leaning towards just running a team in the Solecismic 8 conference, probably in California. |
