Then Jerry Garcia could be said to be an 80s singer for that matter. That's when he had his only hit.
And I could say axl rose was a lead singer from the 21st century, and the voters would rightfully roast me

OKay then, I was under the impression that I was totally restricted before, so I want to do this:

1.3 Neil Peart, Drummer, 80s (Rush)
2.8 Robert Plant, Lead Singer, Rock (Led Zeppelin)

and Julio can have his 80s bassist then

I'm cool with Fox and Julio changing their pick categories because of the rule clarification recently made by Rum.

No objections here.

Thanks. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything. (as natural as it comes to me) Just trying to prevent mistaken picks in what I thought was a restriction which could have screwed us all later.

and it also prevented me from pointing out that Page started with the Yardbirds in the 60s But I won't have to do that now hehe

I was on the fence between Page and Plant. THanks for making that easy for me.

That part was always just a suggestion for my thinking on it, not a rule. I even wrote it that way in the opening post. I think you took it a bit more literally than I intended, so my apologies for not being clearer.

No more changes to past picks, though, until I can review them. For now, I'll provisionally allow your changes to stand. I will almost certainly allow them to be permanent, but you cannot just make changes without consulting with me. There are other players here to consider.

If someone wants to make a category change based on my clarification, please PM me.

No, you CANNOT go back and change your picks - that's been rule and intent of every draft. You are being a jerk, CF and thus I hope the voters vote accordingly. Hey Chief, how putting an astericks next to the changed picks?

Regarding voters, it has always been that way. A great person or song or whatever in a wrong category can help or hurt. For some it's the body of work, for others it's what you pick and where.

We are geting some separation, I believe. I think the bassists are going way too early. The labels are going just right. Drummers and bassists are dime a dozen, imo, (lots of good ones) but lead singers and guitarist in certain genres can be a home run, if grabbed early enough.

This thought crossed my mind and I couldn't help but laugh: what does it take to have a label or cover song qualify as female?

2.10 - Keith Moon, drummer, rock

Possibly the greatest drummer of all-time. Pioneered the art of using a drum set to not just keep the beat, but as an instrument that could carry a song just as a lead guitar could. Here some some of his examples from his all-too-short time with The Who.

3.1 Willie Nelson - Songwriter, Country

The red-headed stranger's first hit was writing 'Crazy' for Patsy Cline in 1961. He started the 'Outlaw Country' music genre in the 70s with Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Billy Joe Shaver. He wrote movie soundtracks, and continue to write and perform to this day.

Two things:

After watching the Primus video, I have a craving for nachos.

Moon and Nelson are both very solid picks. Moon is undoubtedly one of the top two or three drummers ever.

I am going to allow CF's adjustments and Julio's change (if Julio wishes to change it). But the only changes I will accept are on any picks prior to my clarification of the time period post, and in no way will the person/entity picked be allowed to change, or the main category. Only the sub-category and only if it involves a time-related sub-category. And you change it right after seeing this post, because I am not going to have those changes continue to be made back and forth as the draft goes on. Change it now, if that's what you want to do, and after this, that's it, that change is locked in.

CF, I presume you wil stick with Neal Peart (sp) for the 80s? And Julio, make your decision as soon as you can. Thanks.

I'm wondering if putting together musicians I think would play well together will sit well with the judges.

Given the scoring of previous drafts, I would easily say no. It's all about name recognition and getting the name in the right category. That's it, imo.

And I would add not going Izulde on us by picking a bassist from an obscure local bar band and wondering why no one else has heard of him.

I've got one or two picks that are certainly off the beaten path, but I think video evidence will champion their cause quite well.

Really looking forward to defending my selections after the draft.

I forget, it was Izulde that gave us the infamous Shia LeBeouf pick? lol

I do remember some really off the wall picks by Izulde from other drafts.
