Opinions wanted
A friend of mine got me to try guitar hero at Dave n Busters yesterday. I've sworn to myself not to by a console system, like...ever, but I found the game entertaining. SO....
Whats the best system for Guitar Hero? and IF that system is the Wii, is this a good deal: Nintendo Wii Guitar Hero WORLD TOUR BAND KIT Bundle Set - eBay (item 160436516266 end time Jun-18-10 12:24:26 PDT) Edited for atrocious typing...

If you want to play the Harmonix originals (GH1 and GH2), you need a PS2.
If it's the more recent games you're interested in, you probably want to go with a PS3 or a 360, if for no other reason than that each instrument requires a Wii remote if you get a Wii; that's another $40 per instrument cost that you won't be paying with the other systems. |

Personally I'd choose a PS3 since
1) You get a blu-ray player 2) Higher resolution so text is a little sharper 3) Space for DLC. I don't know how much DLC GH has since I play rock band. The Wii has very little hard drive space. 4) I *THINK* you can find the game slightly cheaper for the 360 or the PS3 I would also look at Amazon marketplace before you buy anything off e-bay Last edited by Greyroofoo : 05-20-2010 at 05:59 PM. |

I have Rock Band for Wii, and it's fine, but I don't think it's the best system for the game.

Do you have friends that you intend to play with online? If so, that should obviously sway you in one direction or another, regarding game and system.

360 imo is the best, in fact I've heard the wii version is behind both 360 and ps3. especially as far as DLC goes. thats just what I've heard before, I'm too lazy to actually look stuff up right now.

Ok, added info, I have no friends that play, and I'm probably not going to pay extra or ever actually play online.

The Wii version of the newer Guitar Hero games (which the bundle you posted is one of the newer versions, it is GH4 essentially) are identical to the other versions, just obviously not in HD. That is a pretty good deal on that bundle. You will need a Wii remote for each instrument on Wii, but you should get 4 of them eventually if you get a Wii anyway.
You can play online just fine with GH World Tour for Wii, so no worry about that anyway. As far as space is concerned, the Wii has a very seamless way to use SD cards built into the system now, so storage space is no problem if you have an SD card(s). Last edited by MJ4H : 05-20-2010 at 06:29 PM. |
