Thumbs up Ending Friedgen's Pain: NCAA 06 - Maryland

According to everything I have read, Ralph Friedgen is frustrated with his team since his first season. Back in NCAA 2004, I played with Maryland and enjoyed that Dynasty quite a bit....so I am going back.

I am redshirting Josh Allen because from what I have read he is out with a torn ACL. As you can see the offense is kind of weak and there are some tough defenses in the ACC so this could be a frustrating season. Our pass defense is one of the worst in the conference as well, luckily though our front seven is very good.

We definitely caught a break getting Virginia, Virgina Tech and Boston College all at home and all the away games are winnable with exception of the Florida State and NC State games.

We have our work cut out for us on most of these guys. Somehow we might steal Neal from the state of Florida, but Miami and Florida State are high on his list as well.

My goal of keeping the top talent from Maryland in-state isn't going so well early on but we are going to work hard on that.

This game should give us a chance to play all three quarterbacks as Navy's offense and defense are no real threat to us, on paper at least.

Navy Breakdown
QB Lamar Owens is quick but he is a horrible passer.
HB Terry Hines is another speed threat out of the backfield.
SS Keenan Little leads the way for this poor defense.

Prediction: Maryland 38, Navy 6

After a horrible start which game Navy a 10-0 lead just 3 minutes into the game the Terps exploded. The key play was a 103-yard kickoff return by true freshman Anthony Wiseman. Navy then proceded to turn the ball over their next four possessions leading to 20 points and blowing the game wide open. The Navy offense failed to pass the 50-yard line in the final 3 1/2 quarters of play.

QB Stats
Statham 8/12, 91 yards, 2 TD
Steffy 4/5, 70 yards

Merrills, 11 att, 51 yds, 1 TD

We are losing ground on quite a few key players, but gaining on Benson. Adam Neal didn't enjoy his visit with Miami (FL) so I am guessing that puts some ground between us, we are going to back off a little this week.

Clemson (0-1) at Maryland (1-0)
Preview

Clemson is coming off an ass whooping by the hands of Texas A&M so I would expect nothing less than a motivated Tiger team. The Navy game didn't really prepare us well for this game at all.

Key Players for Clemson
QB Charlie Whitehurst - He is a great passer, with a lot of experience. He may destroy our DBs if we don't get pressure on him.

WR Chansi Stuckey - A big time threat at WR, he will probably eat our DBs alive. He will probably see some double teams.

DE Charles Bennett - He was a monster against A&M with 11 tackles, he should give our offensive line fits.

Prediction: Clemson 27, Maryland 21

How the heck are you getting these great formats for your dynasty?!

Oh...also, their #1 recruit, Melvin Alaeze didn't qualify .

Great dynasty - I'm using Maryland as well and have them at 8-2, but admittedly, I haven't been on the forefront on the use of realistic sliders. I'm still working my way through that.

Good luck!

I am using excel then copying and pasting the excel spreadsheet to paint shop, making it into a .jpg

Works quite well!

That sucks about Alaeze! Come to think of it, I don't think he has played yet for me...I have to check out the depth charts!

Holy crap. 49-13 over Virginia Tech. I can only wish upon the brightest star in the sky for that kind of result for State. I'm thinking it'll be like last year. Ugly, defensive struggle that'll be settled by the kickers.
