We have the #16 pick in the 2007 NFL Draft and as you can see a ton of cap space.
As our new scout and I look over the roster, we need to send someone to the La Ligue Etrangere Solecismique Summer league for more experience as well as seeing if we need to franchise anyone and also figure out which restricted FAs we are going to sign. It's going to be a long night. Last edited by MizzouRah : 01-27-2007 at 01:09 PM. |

After some debating, I'm going to send our next year hopefull starting C Chris Morris. Current starter Jake Grove is in his final year of his contract and Morris could use the extra training. Last edited by MizzouRah : 01-27-2007 at 01:55 PM. |

Here is a list of our FAs this year. I think about franchising SS Derrick Gibson, but Michael Huff is the starter for at least the next 5 years and Derrick could start on many teams around the league. I will follow him during FA though as he was our 3rd best tackler last year and only started 6 games. |

NP, I've only been playing the game for a few weeks. I've played OOTP for years and I've read probably a good 50 dynasty's (or is it dynasties). I've read only 3 dynasty's from FOF and they are BY FAR better then OOTP dynasty's!

It's definitly MUCH easier to post box scores this year, plus they add some color whereas they used to be all black and white. |

There were a few targets I let get away as I don't like to give away the farm right off the bat, so I looked for bargains. RB Thomas Jones, TE Kyle Brady, and OLB Brandon Short will fill in starting roles with the team. Last edited by MizzouRah : 01-28-2007 at 04:01 PM. |

We are pick #16 this year and although I almost pulled the trigger on our 1(16) and 4(16) picks for New England's 1(15) pick, but I'm going to stay with where we lie.
LG is our #1 priority in this draft, so I hope one of our targets is there when it's our turn to pick. We also would like to draft: QB, RB, FB, DE, and a CB Top 10 Players in the Draft QB Brady Quinn (Notre Dame): 7.9 DT Alan Branch (Michigan): 7.6 DT Frank Okam (Texas): 7.4 T Joe Thomas (Wisconsin): 7.1 QB Troy Smith (Ohio State): 7.0 WR Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech): 6.9 T Levi Brown (Penn State): 6.9 DT Quinn Pitcock (Ohio State): 6.9 DT Justin Harrell (Tennessee): 6.9 CB Leon Hall (Michigan) 6.8 |

The Atlanta Falcons have the first pick in the 2007 Draft and most publications are saying Georgia Tech standout WR Calvin Johnson will be Atlanta's selction, however a few local magazines are saying it's going to be Wisconsin's T Joe Thomas.

2007 Draft First 1-10 Picks
1. Atlanta Falcons - WR Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech) Their #1 need and we'll see what comes of Vick and Johnson. 2. Houston Texans - QB Brady Quinn (Notre Dame) I like this pick for Houston, the only choice for them in my opinion. 3. Miami Dolphins - QB Troy Smith (Ohio State) Not a bad pick at all. 4. Tennessee Titans - DT Alan Branch (Michigan) Again, good pick. 5. Detroit Lions - QB Chris Leak (Florida) Interesting pick. Can Leak play at this level? 6. San Francisco 49ers - RB Marshawn Lynch (California) #1 Need and I don't think Frank Gore is in the initial file. 7. Denver Broncos - DT Frank Okam (Texas) Luckly that Okam falled to Denver. 8. Jacksonville Jaquars - WR Jeff Smardzija (Notre Dame) Need. 9. New York Giants - G Justin Harrell (Tennessee) I should have traded up, he was my #1 target, but I should have known better. 10. Green Bay - CB Leon Hall (Michigan) #1 Need. |

2007 Draft Picks 11-20
11. Baltimore Ravens - DT Quinn Pitcock (Ohio State) Second player from Ohio State. 12. Washington Redskins - DE Quentin Moses (Georgia) #1 Need. 13. Arizona Cardinals - T Joe Thomas (Wisconsin) Not listed as their Top 3 needs, but clearly Thomas is a "too good to pass up" draft pick. He definitely is an upgrade for them at RT though and should easily start. 14. Kansas City Chiefs - QB Kevin Kolb (Houston) With Trent Green retiring aftet the 2006 season, the Chiefs signed mentor former Greeen Bay great, Brett Favre. Kolb is a long shot, but it won't hurt letting him learn from Brett. 15. New England Patriots - CB John Talley (Duke) #1 Need. 16. Oakland Raiders - G George Batiste (Southern Mississippi) He's not a true LG, but hopefully he can adjust to that side of the ball. 17. Cleveland Browns - QB Jordan Palmer (Texas - El Paso) #1 Need. 18. Philadelphia Eagles - WR Jason Hill (Washington State) #1 Need. 19. New Orleans Saints - OLB Xavier Adibi (Virginia Tech) Much needed help in the LB department. 20. Carolina Panthers - OLB Paul Posluszny (Penn State) #1 Need. |

Cincinnati Bengals - DE Gaines Adams (Clemson) 28. Indianapolis Colts - DT Marcus Thomas (Florida) 29. Seattle Seahawks - CB Antoine Cason (Arizona) 30. QB Andrew Walter's agent calls me on the phone and wants a new contract for his player or they are holding out.
Before drafting QB Richard Lester I would have easily worked up a new contract for Andrew Walter. Now I'm in a dilemma. I tell Walter's agent I want to see one more year before committing to him. I also mention that Richard Lester could challenge Walter for the starting role this year. Nothing is guarenteed on this team, I also add. His agent says, "We're holding out then", and hangs the phone up. |

I sign all my draftees and also add MLB Dontarrious Thomas, a FA who played in Minnesota last year. This signing could lead to cutting FA signing MLB Kenyatta Wright.
We head into the exhibition season with 56 players on the roster. Exhibition Schedule Code:

We battle back after an 0-2 start, to even up our record at 2-2.
DT Warren Sapp will be making his first start of the season next week vs Houston. I'm pleased so far with the team, no changes as of yet. Colts (4-0) Patriots (4-0) Chiefs (3-0) Bears (3-0) Jaguars (0-4) Rams (0-4) |

Despite his ratings, he's been great for us. I've noticed that in this version of the game, ratings are only a part of the players story. I now look at stats MUCH more than in previous versions. Last edited by MizzouRah : 01-29-2007 at 09:39 PM. |

Week 6 (3-2)
Week 7 (4-2) BYE I move SS Michael Huff to FS as SS Derrick Gibson is playing really well and Huff needs to start as well. After letting Gibson go to FA last year, I'm glad I picked him up again and when his contract is up, I plan to sign him long term. Week 8 (4-2)

QB Andrew Walter's weakest attribute is 3rd down passing, and it shows.. he's also not that accurate.
Despite all of that, we are still playing fairly well. I'm really impressed with 5th year DE Tyler Brayton. If you just looked at his ratings, you'd say below norm, but a player's reputation is determined by what he does on the field. Brayton leads the team with 22.5 sacks in a year and a half. He leads the NFL so far this season with 11.5, with teammate DE Derrick Burgess right behind him with 11. |
