This is starting off just like the last 2 seasons.. where I open up with a good lead only to watch June and July my team somehow play less than .500 ball and finish up 2nd or 3rd place by the end.

Going to leave my seasonal August swoon until tommorrow to sim then? I think over the past 5 seasons, I'm probably like .400 in August!

Biggest surprise so far this year:
Atlanta -- Man, what are they putting in the water down there?

Biggest disappointment:
Hartford -- Muns isn't gonna be happy when he sees how far his club has fallen. Maybe they'll have a good second half, but geez...

Going the stretch, you have to wonder if one of the teams in either race will catch up with the league leaders. Compton is holding up well this year under the new regime, despite the modest changes they've made.

Colorado is hanging tough in third, maybe if Chief took a few more hours he could've squeezed out a few more wins.

Umm..I haven't decided yet. The file is 38.22 MB and so, while it uploads, I'll think about it. I think I'll probably wait until tomorrow to do the rest, though I'd frankly love to go ahead and see the year and find out what the fallout would be.

Heh, my teams just isn't the same without onbase king Tony Hernandez in the lineup. To think, I offered him a 5 year deal worth 10.49 per season. He goes and signs in FA for 10 mil for one year. Idiot players.

Yeah I'd love to see you keep going too, especially since I'll be gone most of tommorrow!

Here are a few of the new look jerseys that three teams decided to unveil this year (i.e. while I was waiting...)

(Atlanta 3rd jersey)

(Baltimore home)

(Colorado home)

I dig it. Looks sharp (or as sharp as the white uni can look).

Wonder if 1970 will feature a Georgia Fall Line battle for the CL, where North Georgia faces off vs South Georgia for the title.

I have good news for ya then.

A) I had to cut tons of players (again). My guess is that next year is the year I will achieve a balance where it will be much easier to organize things.

B) When the 1971 season is simmed, I will be in NYC. My roster will be set, out of necessity, Thursday night. So definitely no wait on me next week.

Was worried a little about losing morris this year but looks like Tom Williams is taking over his spot. Ofcorse i don't feel the complete joy i should since i did take over an already great team. So far looks like i made the right choice in the trade i made since i felt it was good for our budget room and also stay competetive aswell as be strong in the farm system. This team is gonna be the team to beat i believe for the seasons to come. But again DC takes most of the credit for this teams progress so far win or lose. I know it's not over yet but whatever the out come i feel the team has done very we'll.

I'll try that next time if you like.

Of course, this year ain't over. I came back from further down at this point from behind this very Compton team (when they were known as St. Petersburg). Take out my 13-18 start, and I am 35-21 since. Of course, I think that at best keeps pace with Compton, lol.

The good news is that your team is old and has very little in the way of prospects thanks to missing draft picks and past trades!

So you'll get your chance to make this team your own soon.

BTW, this must be karma for me saying you won't need to be there Sunday for the Classic

If Ann Arbor ends up 2nd again, I'll be astounded. That's quite a run they've had there, proving that one title during the "interleague" year wasn't a fluke.

Can't have one every year or they will become less special.. I'd be ok with us taking this year off from a close race.

BTW, ain't it great being on the Left Coast? I am fine to stick around, since it's not even 9:30 yet. Heck, the Angels are still playing (beating the crap outta the Yanks right now).

I think you missed my trade, I did manage to pick up some prospects and also take toronto's 1,2,3 picks this year, So yeah i lost my Position 14 in the draft and moved up to 7th really. If im not mistaken compton is now ranked 3rd or 4th in top prospects so the future is very bright.

Yes i will be here sunday

Mike McBride as Quad City's closer isn't working. He's got an ERA near 7 (6.93) and has blown 7 saves this year. Ouch.

Still waiting for my game to update itself so I can see the disaster that is my team this year. Though...they did seem to do fairly well in that last sim to get to within 6 of .500.

Yeah, whatever.

My pitching has been relatively average this season, my hitting is holding it together for me it seems. Thankfully I couldn't find anyone interested enough in Segura to trade for him in the offseason. He's been huge for me this season so far.

Connolly whom I also couldn't find anyone interested in has a .947 OPS as well.. all of this in a pitcher's park even. I wonder how many people chose to spend 4 times more money on a 2B for less production this last offseason!

Rio Grande is the best hitting team in the CL at .289, that's what's keeping them in the race. Andres Aguilera has 73 RBI so far this year, when he had 78 all of last year. Man, that's what I call a turnaround.

Craig Davis is 10-3 with a 3.24 ERA in 17 starts with Colorado. At least he's holding up his end of the bargain there. Dunno why he's not the ace of that staff, tho.

Well, it won't matter now. You can't offer him a contract extension until the end of the season file goes up. This file is just for seeing how your team did thus far. Even if you did export now, I wouldn't go fetch it.

We are 1st in the CL in Slugging percentage but 5th in Homers.. we must hit a virtual ton of doubles and triples.

Good to see Marcos Montoya leading all rookies with a .308 average so far this year, he's got 45 RBI and 9 HRs to boot.

Alonso Samaripa is doing Texas proud, in his rookie year. He's got 14 HRs to start his FOOL career.

Didn't really think about how young the Quad City rotation was. But two of our guys -- Truman Austin and Dave Hardee are among the top rookies in ERA.

Rob Goodwin of Colorado leads all rookies with 112 strikeouts.

Ivan Garcia had a 23 game hitting streak going this year. The record is 28, set in 1961.

Craig Davis is 10-3 with a 3.24 ERA in 17 starts with Colorado. At least he's holding up his end of the bargain there. Dunno why he's not the ace of that staff, tho.

Craig Davis should be on Atlanta right now. I wanted him with the #1 pick in 1968 when all the exports didn't go through. At least the pick I got hasn't busted, and should be a solid pitcher next year.

We have a winning record against everyone we have played this season except one team.. Atlanta with a 5-7 record thus far which may be important to note as the final few months of the season, we play 6 games at Atlanta while only 4 times in Valdosta vs them.
