Atlanta is making a habit of getting former Peanuts! I think this is like the 5th or 6th on your team.

Nice job Muns, it is only fair since you already spent how much just to have a chance to negotiate with him.

Well looks like Brooklyn is no longer a place to play after turning down my 2 year $29.25 million deal.

I guess I don't have a right to feel upset that he turned me down then. Yours would have beat mine!

Looking through my roster as of right now I only have two guys that played for Valdosta within the past 4 seasons. Prado, who I got in a trade from Hartford, and Reyes who I signed as a free agent last season.

Actually looking over the 22 guys on my active roster right now, only six have not been in an Atlanta or Atlanta AAA roster for the past 4 years.

But I thought I did have a few more guys from the Peanuts, maybe a few I've released over the past couple of seaons?

Well, guess I didn't get any of the guys I targeted again for a second straight offseason. Free agents just don't like me much.

Thanks, I dunno if it'll be enough...but...I do like that we've improved and that's really all you can ask for.

How about Texas dipping their toe in the pool and really improving that ballclub down there? Nice signing by Baltimore too, not content after their near-miss at a trip to the post-season for the first time since '62 last year.

Nice first day of the off-season!

One thing I forgot to mention earlier that I thought of. One of the biggest moves offseason was releasing 2B Ben Harris after seeing his 2B rating disappear, and his offensive ratings decline a bit. In his place and basically for the same amount of money I signed Bob Bath. Here are their stats for last year:

Ben Harris: .206, 6 HR, 19 RBI in 109 games

Bob Bath: .245, 21 HR, 80 RBI in 150 games.

I did have to release Bath to sign my own guys, but it was a good trade-off for the year.

I've heard a number of grumblings from former Peanuts in my locker room pretty much saying how you're a pain in the ass to play for. Seems like word has spread around the league.

They wanted a new hot tub, but I told them to suck it up with the tin watering trough that had a motor boat engine inside.

Just wait until they have a life sized cutout of you in the locker room and peel off an article of clothing every time you win *shudders*

And the fact that you require all your players to speak English (only 2 international players on your team).

I think International players are scared to play in the deep south. Something about seeing "Deliverance"

I like my team. I think we got a lot of value for the money we spent without being shackled by long term contracts that we wouldn't want to pay out when the guys decline. But I don't think year will be a cakewalk.

Well to be fair, I offered him more and it sounds like Brooklyn did too. So I think the photo thought might be spot on

What can I say? Toronto must just be the happenin' place to be.

Yeah, I feel very fortunate. Not sure how it worked out, but glad I decided to take the chance on a smaller offer.

Did anyone else have an offer on Bruce?
