OK, well played. You win this round.

And thanks, I'll stick around.

Just from the month of September, I think Gonzales and Wilson had to win about 25 games each as the rest of my starting rotation looked lousy.

Congratulations, Alan!

You are either a genius, or the most consistently lucky bastard alive. Or maybe a bit of both.

Thanks guys, definitely was a good race from several teams in the CL. I already knew Baltimore and Toronto were good, but I had figured we would get at least 1 year break from Atlanta being in the mix.

Well damn. Way to go, Columbus! Chicago and I would like to welcome you to the first-time winners club. It seems repeating is harder than getting it to start with.

Muns, I'll get the bubbly out to you post-haste. Forget that it's for celebrating, and just drink till it doesn't hurt any more.

87 wins, my personal best! I am happy...especially after being below .500 after two months. At least i made a run at it! I feel alot better about this team then my past run 3 seasons ago. I have a young young team that is only getting better!
I have a feeling no matter what I do though, Alan will be there to show me exactly who rules the roost!

Wow no Inman in the all star game for the first time since 1965.. that probably is not a good sign for the future.

Or maybe they all just decided to suck after two straight years of being on fire.

I must have re-exported at least 4 times switching back and forth between the two because I couldn't decide which to use. Finally settled on the new approach about 7 central.

I think I knew going into the season what my problem was going to be. I knew this year wasn't going to be a repeat year for us, I had hard decisions to make last year and I made them and fared WAY better than I should've, picking up Khu and a few other key pieces to the puzzle.

This will be Christian Larsen's last season with us and a few other veterans whose time has come to be jettisoned. I don't know if we'll try to make a run for next year, but...we've got enough of a core that I'm confident that we're not gonna ever return to the days of those OLD Chicago teams.

Our classic trip in '74 was so brief, I almost forget this team went back to back for RL titles.

Hell of a job by Columbus and Hartford is BACK! Knocking on the door to the title, too. Congrats to Valdosta. I joke about his death grip on the Continental League pennant, but to win six pennants is hard, to do it in the span of time he's done it, with the sort of competition we have here...is astounding.

Only 4 here, including only 1 starting pitcher. I can't remember the last time I didn't get at least 2 SP in the allstar game.

(If anyone's interested, I have an excel spreadsheet which will take your season schedule and a pitching rotation, tell you exactly who will be in each game, and give you a team-by-team breakdown of who each pitcher will be facing.

I might not use it again.

I joke about his death grip on the Continental League pennant, but to win six pennants is hard, to do it in the span of time he's done it, with the sort of competition we have here...is astounding.

hear hear (spellling is prob wrong) but well said, Alan has done it over and over again. Cant kiss his ass enough over here

I think I got lucky more than anything this year. I guess I'll have to wait and see the file when it comes up.. but based on just what I see in the all star game, I have to guess my Pyth record is the opposite of last year and I'm a few games over my expected record.
