I play VAL 5 times and BAL 4 times this month. But the rest are sub-.500 teams.

man, really wished i knew we coulda left room on our 25 man roster in the event we picked up some FAs right before the sim. i would've loved to have had some of those guys i aquired, namely the 2B and that 1B. is SP Lopez any good - i don't remember? i'm assuming if i gave him a $11million dollar, 2 year deal he's at least better than my 4th or 5th SP. man, i really wanted to be able to go 3 deep on my rotation. at least i got the club pointed in the right direction with my '77 offseason moves.

'77 was when i was born, i had to make a big splash.

Or a good chance for you to try to put some distance up. Especially if I do poorly against both you and VAL.

1961 St. Louis Terriers (112-42) That was a nutsoid year. Guess who beat us in the Classic that year?

Baltimore

The RL was NOT as strong then as it is now.

The CL record is 1972 Valdosta 108-46 (aka, the modern record...)

Memo to my team: If you're going to end up being mediocre like I expected, don't get my hopes up my leading the league after a month and a half.

You're all getting your options voided!

Looks like BAL took our series. Way to go, ekcut. Stepped up when it mattered.

Was just thinking that....That is one heck of a team there in hartford...I wanted to make a play for one of his big 4 pitchers, so I reviewed his team and there wasnt a single position that I could help him upgrade...Outstanding from head to toe...

i'm really pissed Hartford is such an unstoppable force. without them i really think the Violators had a very championship worthy team. i wasn't expecting us to be 2nd best in the division. that's quite a leap from being one of the middling, average teams of the RL.

My motto exactly!

Trash talk away You played it perfectly...so did i apparently as all the guys you wanted are in my lineup....sometimes the best trade you can make is the one you don't make! For both sides

funny thing about BJ Silver is i made Violator Arena a blatant hitter's park. 16 wins is really impressive, but with the firepower i have on offense it's not out of the realm of possibilty he got some really good run support. but 2.32 ERA...that's all him. doing it in a hitter's park just makes it that more impressive. i wonder what his stat's would be if i went with a pitcher's park.

Nah.

If you ask me, a time of intense competition at the front is the proper one for expanded playoffs. Not one of runaway teams.

I hate the randomness in OOTP playoffs. If we did something like that, I guarantee out of some fluke Hartford would end up losing in the league championship series and not even make the FOOL Classic. I like this format better!

i prefer top two teams in each division duke it out. kinda silly to just have the top team in each division go the a championship game. even my friend's softball league has some type of playoffs, and they aren't making Chicago's Anthony Payton money. lol

+1

Having been party to those playoffs (though never losing in them...) I agree with this. It's an awful idea unless we have divisional play.

And there are two guys on the waiting list....

weeeell, considering you're under .500 and the Violators are over .500, i guess i made the better decision in cutting off trade talks. that is, all the guys i wanted that are in your lineup aren't really doing much to make you an over .500 team, now, huh?

I offered Lopez a $2.5 M MVP bonus. I was too much of a woos to offer higher. Interesting the owner doesn't care if you go over the cap with incentives (at least when offering deals).
