Ok, if there are no other requests, we'll get started with the second half.

Rodriguez and Clarke are similar pitchers, ekcut. Except Clarke is actually more talented than Rodriguez. The performance of your pitcher is certainly encouragement for me.

Ok, I am out of here guys. I hate to miss the end of the season but I will check it out in the morning real quick. This is my first night this week to get more then 4 hours of sleep and since I have to wake up early still for soccer I am taking advantage of it right now.

good luck guys.

I know...I was looking at clarke earlier today. I did a search for simular rating pitchers to see if any had succeeded

Hmm, just took a peek at him. That is a little low to run him out there. I'm not sure I would have started his "clock" so soon, since the season doesn't matter much for you here, but that's a judgment call. I don't think it's any bad thing.

July 29th, 1983: Gabriel Riggs of Toronto throws a no-hitter versus Brooklyn. He struck out 7 and he also walked 7 in the 3-2 win.

Well, I guess that's one way to do it.

Is he the oldest pitcher to get a no hitter in FOOL? I wonder if there's an easy way to check for that.

His splits are what kept him on the roster. I hosed myself by not signing some cheapo fillin at SS, so I was in a little bit of a bind for infielders as well. Oh well, I think he'll be fine after this season.

Huh...and what's really funny about Riggs is that one rating that has not left him is his Control. Weird way to get a no-no.

Osprey coming on....if only they had a better April....I've been there kaos. The two seasons before my back to backs, I totally crapped the bed in April. Chin up bud, your team is better then that.

Kaos always has a month where his team is just awful. You can set your clock to it. I have no idea why or how that keeps happening to him, its pretty odd.

Wow, look at Lopez there leading the league.

In other news, Colorado might actually have some talent fairly close, or even already there. The Revolution starts soon folks, soon.

Congratulations to Napa Valley for clinching the Continental League for the second straight season.

Congratulations to Hartford for clinching the Republic League for the 59th straight season. Also congratulations to the San Diego Fathers, the 1983 Republic Shield winners. They will face off vs the Harpooners in the Republic League Championship Series.

Looks like we have quite a race for the Continental Cup, as Baltimore has a magic number of 8, but 3 teams still within striking distance.

I think its funny how we added the wildcard to give some more thrill to the races at the end of the season, with the RL being a main focus. And the RL is sewn up already, for both spots. Nice.

This is real encouraging folks. Only 2 Hartford players up there. Way to go everyone!

Remember just a couple of years ago when this was, I believe, all Hartford?

I just don't get it.

60 games?

I can only assume that my pitchers still suck, and that my offense is still stagnant despite what I thought would be upgrades. Geez.

I may end up challenging Muns' record for most pain endured before success.

If you bitched and moaned loud enough, maybe we could expand the playoffs even more. Then you'd get your chance, you betcha!

And yay. Another season that could have been solid if it weren't for a craptacular first two months. How god damned frustrating is that?

(I'm not calling for more playoffs. If my team can't play solid, it doesn't deserve a berth.)

Man I hear ya. Thats the wall I was banging my head against before I decided to blow things up. I figured setting up and seeing a total rebuild unfold was more fun than constantly coming up just short. Maybe give it a whirl. I know I've had more fun the last 3 seasons than I did when I was trying to contend with what I had then.

It boggles my mind too. The odds of that happening every year over and over have to be up there, and yet it still keeps happening.... At some point the cycle has to stop I would think.

Baltimore has a magic number of 4
Rio Grande has been eliminated from the Republic Shield.

Wow, I can't figure NY out. I need these ones.

I could use a win here, and then I host Baltimore in a sweep!

Man, this hurts. Even if I sweep, I still need a miracle practically in the last series to overtake Baltimore. ekcut should send TimGuru a prospect in gratitude.
