Ah no, muns is muns. Its just that I could have had a sweetheart deal, its just that it would have left me with NOBODY in the minors, and really I wasn't giving up much as it was. Its just that I had to have someone to fill in some slots down the road. My team is so barren its not even funny.

Aguilar hits a RBI single to put Hammersmith up 1-0 in the bottom of the 1st. It is not until the 6th inning that Napa Valley is able to tie it back up when Fen hits Gathee home with a single.

The Hooligan bats come alive in the bottom of the inning however as M.Rodriguez scores on a wild pitch and then Desilets and R.Rodriguez score on back to back RBI doubles to give Hammersmith a 4-1 lead.

In the top of the 7th, Chavez hits a solo home run to help Napa Valley cut it back to a 4-2 game but that is all they can manage. Hernandez pitches well for Hammersmith, striking out 10 in only 6.1 innings in the win.

Hammersmith 4, Napa Valley 2

Napa Valley leads the FOOL Classic 3 games to 1.

Ha ha, I was going to say it's all my fault. I'm usually not here from the start, and everyone knows I'm a post whore. Did you notice I had the most posts in this subforum of any non-Commish?

Napa Valley gets on the board first as Gathee scores on a Navarro ground out to go up 1-0 in the first. Hammersmith responds immediately with a Bignell sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning.

Napa Valley gets two more in the top of the second on a RBI triple from Chavez and a sac fly from wallace. They get 3 more runs in the 3rd thanks in part to a Diaz 2-run Home run and the Winemakers go up 6-1.

In the top of the 4th, Navarro hits a 3-run shot to put Napa Valley up 9-1 and seemingly put the game away.. Sometimes that just doesn't happen like it should however....

In the bottom of the 7th, Hammersmith starts their come back with a Rosales RBI double, a Bignell RBI single and 1 other run scoring on a fielder's choice. The Hooligans cut the lead to 9-5.

Napa Valley never seem to stop hitting in this one, as they start all over in the top of the 8th, scoring 4 runs, including a bases loaded walk to Gathee, and another run on a Passed Ball as the Winemakers go up 13-5!

In the bottom of the 8th however, Hammersmith score 5 more times thanks to a pinch hit RBI double from Dudley Jackson and a RBI double from Bignell, Hammersmith trails after 8 innings 13-10.

Gathee hits a RBI single in the 9th to put Napa Valley back up by 4 and Hammersmith is not able to come back from this one as Napa Valley scores two touchdowns to Hammersmith's Touchdown plus field goal.

Navarro ends up hitting 3 for 5 with a HR and 6 RBI in the Win for the Winemakers.

Napa Valley 14, Hammersmith 10.

Napa Valley leads the series 4 games to 1.

No, it is only something that someone with enough spare time and interest and craziness to actually total it up by hand would do.

(I just did search on the forum by username and sorted by posts. Anyone could do it).

Both starting pitchers pitch well as into the bottom of the 5th, Lemieux still has a no-hitter while Retter has a 3-hitter going. Heredia ruins the shut out for Retter however with a solo home run that puts Napa Valley up 1-0 after 5 innings...

The very first hitter of the 6th inning ruins the no-hitter for Lemieux when M.Rodriguez doubles, but Hammersmith is not able to bring him home and they squander the chance.

In the bottom of the 7th, Napa Valley gets two runners home on a RBI single from Velona and then another run on a Diaz RBI single as they jump to a 4-0 lead with Lemieux pitching brilliantly. This could be trouble for Hammersmith.

Hammersmith does not seem willing to give up quite yet. In the top of the 8th, Rosales hits a RBI single to bring Carroll home and cuts the deficit to 4-1. Napa Valley goes down 1-2-3 in the 8th to bring Hammersmith to their last chance in the 9th inning.

Despite Lemieux being on fire, Napa Valley brings in Pat Johnson to pitch the 9th for the save.

Johnson strikes out Cuevas and forces Doran to fly out to center before walking Aguilar and the pinch hitter JD Blackmore to start a possible 2 out rally...

The tying run comes up to the plate, a pinch hitter Hervey Winters, with two outs in the 9th inning... Winters fouls off two pitches before putting one into play. A Fly ball causally to center field.. and easy catch.. and he is out. That ends it here!

Lemieux pitches 8 innings, striking out 12 while giving up only 1 run in 5 hits for the win.

Napa Valley 4, Hammersmith 1

The Napa Valley Winemakers are the 2028 FOOL Champions!

In the end, my inability to dominate anything--especially pitching--always ends up dooming me. I need a Lemieux!

Congrats, Teach! Your team is certainly good and won a deserved championship tonight.

Me, back to the drawing board once more...
