Boston has finished their season while Edmonton has one more series left to play. Edmonton MUST sweep their last three games in order to force a best of 3 matchup with Boston to decide who will make the playoffs.

If Edmonton loses just one game, they are out!

Rodgers vs Bradford on 10/12. Edmonton faces perhaps the best pitcher in baseball this season and has to beat him to stay alive...

Edmonton trails 2-1 going into the bottom of the 9th, Barbosa comes in to pitch for Baltimore...

Prebble starts things off with a Double for Edmonton and is driven home by Griffith to tie the game up and we go to extra innings....

The 10th goes by without a score, as does the 11th... and 12th... 13th, 14th....

15th...

16th...

17th...

18th....

Then in the 19th someone does score...

In the bottom of the 19th, Broomhead draws a walk vs Kent Davies in his 5th inning of relief....

With two outs, Acosta reaches on an error by the Baltimore 3B to help Broomhead get to third base for guess who...

That is right... .219 hitting Katsuhito Kawano.

Kawano has like 7 hits all season or something, but he makes this one count as he hits a popup towards first base... it loops just far enough back so no one can get it... Kawano with a Texas Leaguer bloop job to drive in Broomhead and win the game for Edmonton...

Dave Long who??!?

Anyways.. after 10/12:

Boston 91-71 (M# 1)
Edmonton 90-71 (1/2 GB)

With 1 game left to play, Edmonton can force a best of 3 series with Boston with a win today. A loss and they go home.

In the 9th inning, Lujan drives home another insurance run for Baltimore to make the score 4-2.

In the bottom of the 9th, Baltimore brings in Alberto Aguirre to try to close out the game...

Aguirre strikes out Kawano, Acosta and Medina .. 1-2-3, he strikes out the side!

With that loss, Edmonton is eliminated from the playoffs on the final at bat of the 2038 season.

Boston clinches the final playoff spot!
