I'm guessing this post took about the same amount of effort that googling his name would have.

I actually gasped watching that and I'm not sure why I didn't close the browser window for the replays, ugh.

It sucks seeing that happen to anyone but to me it's even more of a shame because he was having a good season and he's one of the few good centers in the league these days.

I hope he (and Yao Ming) are back to their best next season.

I am a huge Bucks fan and this is awful. Without Bogut the Bucks are a totally different team that would have put a scare into whoever had to play them in the 1st round. With Kurt Thomas the Bucks are a totally different team, the will be lucky to win a game in the 1st round if they shoot well.

Someone is criticizing a big man for dunking? lol. If he didn't dunk, he'd be called soft.

I really liked that Squad 6 (or whatever he called it) that I read about earlier this year. Really sad to see him go down, I was hoping for the Bucks to upset a top-4 East team.

Looked to me like he was trying to hang on the rim so that he could control his fall. He just was unable to hold on and fell awkwardly. Didn't look like he was trying to show off to me.

As much as it sucks that he's out for the remainder of the season, in watching how he got hurt, I think he may be lucky he "only" sprained the wrist/broke the hand/dislocated the elbow. Hopefully he has a good recovery in the offseason and can come back strong.

Jeez, from reading about this, I thought he was hanging on the rim for two or three seconds. I just watched it for the first time, and he was just holding on until his momentum brought him back upright. Wasn't even up there for half a second. That's not even in the same galaxy as somebody trying to showboat. Really unlucky for him.

Yeah. This wasn't even close to the Tony Allen injury(aka the dumbest ACL tear we will see in our lifetime?)

Not that I care two shits about the bucks. But as one of the few centers who can play he will be missed for the duration of time it takes to heal.

Ya, sooner or later somebody's going to land on their head on a play like that.

Yeah, and if Bogut hadn't tried to hold on to the rim, he would've done exactly that. I'm surprised more guys don't accidentally let go of the rim on a play like that. At the speed these guys are moving, it's really amazing that injuries like this don't happen all the time.

Holy crap. I nearly screamed and cried in pain from watching that.

After the Butler Debacle, I'll clarify the Kcchief19 Doctrine: If all you did was sprain something but roll around on the ground for 5 minutes crying, you're a pussy. If you actually are hurt, you can do whatever you want. You've earned it.

It's brutal to watch, but I agree that he's fortunate. There's no reason he shouldn't be back to full speed at some point next season.

terrible ... He soooo deserved to get center stage in the playoffs this year, propably a chance knocking off the celtics (which to the average fan would still have been a big deal) and showcasing his ability on the big stage.

didnīt care about them much either but grew pretty fond of them over the course of this season, league pass be damned ... Really liked how they got contributions out of less-heralded players and play hard every night with great effort (and skill) defensively.
And yeah, Bogutīs a true Pivot. I mean, he partly was heralded for his ability to shoot at his height out of college, yet he is taking the most shots within 10 feet of all players this season (not percentage of shots, total shots !!)

I personally thought he was the best teamdefender at the 4/5 spot this season and right up there as an individual man-to-man defender as well, heīs got that rotating-thingy that most people overlook down perfectly
His advanced defensive stats are incredible. And to think that his defense was considered a flaw out of college and his rookie year
There canīt be too many people that ever were in the Top 10 in blocks and charges in any given season and heīs 2nd in BPG and 4th in charges taken per game.

good statistical summary of his season : http://www.hoopdata.com/recent.aspx?aid=185

Plus he allways seemed to have "it" in terms of personality, not easy to stomach at times but definitely unique and spoke speaks his mind. And that fan-section thing he got going was genius.
really sucks to see him go out that way and i totally agree that he didnīt have much of a chance there. If he slows down Amare crashes into him, if he doesnīt try hanging onto the rim he goes flying into the 5th row at that speed and momentum... Just a sucky coincidence and bad luck all around ...

Really hope he gets a full recovery. I mean, you kinda need all of the flexibility in your arms/hands to play basketball effectively ...

Aye. Bogut is a fine example of a guy who hasn't turned out anything at all like he was projected to - and not in a bad way.

Injuries and playing on selfish teams have really limited his career up until this season, and it's a shame to see him go down like that when he had finally got it all together.
