Original FOF on Ebay
At the advice of many, I've finally listed the original FOF on Ebay. Here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=8154758791 Note, it does not include the original jewel case or manual. Let me know if you have any questions. Bob |

Admittedly, I'm not sure about its haunted / non-haunted status. I'll have to check that out.

In that pic, I have some trouble seeing the face of the Virgin Mary. Might want to re-shoot it.

So, I'm not an Ebay veteran. I have never used it, in fact, although I have browsed. To the untrained eye, it does not appear to be fetching its worth right now.
Do things usually not heat up in the bidding until things get down to the last day? Can bob pull this off if decides he hasn't gotten enough for it? Does the fact that he is missing the case and manual hurt the bidding significantly? |

I have the original game, jewel case and all here at the house. If you guys want a copy of it THAT bad, I'd definitley be willing to deal it away to one of the seedy characters here at FOFC.

I hope someone donates some of that back to Jim for all his hard work.
Would be a great gesture for Christmas, eh?

I dunno if I'd trust these people, bob. Flasch, well, he's got 0 feedback. Could be crooked, or at least leaning to the left And vexroid, well, he's from Oklahoma as can be evidenced by his two previous purchases. And then there's that shady fnbrown who only has 8 feedback. I'd insist on cash up front with this rogues gallery

When bidding, you can put a max bet that will only increment to that max, when other people bid above yours.

I guess that's the risk involved with ebay - you can't pull it off if you don't get the price you want. You can list the item with a reserve price (item does not sell unless the bid price is over the price, and the bidders do not know the price), but it costs more to list it like that. I'm obviously new to it as well - apparantly I made a beginner's mistake (The auction end time is 8 AM EST on Monday, which means the last second bidding will be reduced, especially since that is 5 AM on the Pacific coast). I'd love to have this as the first one I bought was FOF2, but I won't bid because there's no jewel case or manual. That may sound stupid to some, but if I was going to buy it, I'd want everything. I have all of my cases, boxes, and manuals of every game I've ever bought. I'm nuts with that.

Didn't the original just come with the jewel case and manual? I don't remember the original FOF coming in a box, but I may be wrong. I still have mine

Just a jewel case and manual, but I had it in another CDROM case. I kept all my boxes, jewel cases, and manuals somewhere else so they wouldn't get messed up.... so they were all in perfect condition when they were thrown away.

Seriously... that price is too low... so, if you don't want to sell it for that, it's cool. I won't leave negative feedback or anything. |

I have a feeling that the price will start jumping up on Sunday / Monday morning... I'm not too worried - remember, I was going to trade it away for another game at first.

First of all, you should have set the initial price higher if you wanted more. Second, who are the asshats who were bidding on day one. Do you not use eBay? Nothing pisses me off more than someone bidding before the last 5 minutes, what's the point in driving up the price?

To be honest with you, I'm not that disappointed. While I would love to have gotten more money for it, if you remember I was willing to trade it for an older used game. So instead I get enough money to buy ESPN Baseball when it comes out. Seems like a fair trade to me.
I know its a "collector's item," but only if you want to collect it, which I didn't. I have the latest game on my PC, so to me this is just a disc. While I enjoyed my time with the original game, I don't have to have the disc to remember that - I just crank up the new one. As far as a reserve price goes, it just seems like a hastle to have to continuously repost the item if it doesn't sell at your price. |
