CL Announces Best Glovemen for 2080
Thursday, October 31st, 2080: The Slick Fielder Award winners don't get the recognition of the home run hitters, but they are very much appreciated by managers, their teammates and by the fans, who know the value of defensive excellence. Great defense makes a difference in baseball. This year's top glovemen in the Continental League are:

Republic League Names Top Gloves
Thursday, October 31st, 2080: It's been said that the best offense is a good defense. That's why contending teams are always looking to improve on the defensive side of the game. Keeping runs from scoring is just as good as driving them in. The top fielders have been chosen in the Republic League for 2080. Here are the Slick Fielder Award winners:

Continental League Selects Best Rookie
Friday, November 1st, 2080: It wasn't a stroke of good luck that got St Louis's Bob Pinch the 2080 Continental League Kien-lung Teng Award, it was his skill on the field. The gifted catcher performed well with a .267 batting average, while playing in 157 games and delivering 167 hits in 625 at-bats. His totals also included 31 home runs, 105 RBIs, 91 runs scored, 60 walks and a .329 OPB.


RL Announces Kien-lung Teng Award
Friday, November 1st, 2080: This year's outstanding rookie has been chosen and the honor goes to Cleveland first baseman Danny Bargenquast. He received the 2080 Republic League Kien-lung Teng Award for his consistent play and solid numbers.

He finished the regular season with a .257 batting average, 25 doubles, 5 triples and 28 home runs. The 25-year-old Bargenquast also had 106 RBIs and scored 74 times.

Best CL Hurler Chosen
Sunday, November 3rd, 2080: A bullpen specialist has won the 2080 Continental League Mauro Morales Award. The top votegetter was Luis Olarte of the St Louis Hops, who finished the season with 42 saves in 50 save opportunities.

He had 9 wins and 6 losses with a 1.77 ERA. Olarte hurled 91.1 innings and ran up 101 strikeouts.


Best RL Hurler Chosen for 2080
Sunday, November 3rd, 2080: The Cleveland Naps have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making.
It's Marcos Osorio, this year's Republic League Mauro Morales Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Osorio compiled a 18-7 record in 37 starts, tallied 217 strikeouts in 221.2 innings and recorded a 2.64 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .210 batting average against him.

Standout Season For McCormick, Wins CL Bartolo Liriano Award
Monday, November 4th, 2080: Wherever Bobby McCormick signs on next year, the center fielder will be hauling home a good paycheck after the impressive season he just wrapped up. McCormick received word of his Continental League Bartolo Liriano Award selection earlier today. That should make him a valuable commodity for next year.

In 2080 he boasted a .301 average and a .379 on-base percentage as he piled up 197 hits, 45 doubles, 17 triples, 26 home runs, 95 RBIs and 128 runs scored.


Kerfoot Honored, 2080 RL Bartolo Liriano Award
Monday, November 4th, 2080: Stan Kerfoot has been around FOOL-X enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2080 season, he's taking home the Bartolo Liriano Award in the Republic League.

The Cleveland center fielder put up a batting average of .326 with 59 doubles, 7 triples, 12 home runs and 74 RBIs.
