RIP: Farrah Fawcett

One of Charlie's Angels earned her wings.

RIP Farrah. I thought she got better as she got older.

I still liked Steve Martin's joke about her and I'll use it as my RIP because it's one of the first things I thought of when I heard she'd died and for anyone who lived the Farrah era this makes perfect sense.

Farrah Fawcett Majors is so conceited. She has never called me once. And after the hours I've spent holding up her poster with one hand.

The only Poster of a woman I ever hung up in my room as a teenager, one of the greatest smiles ever.

A piece of my teenage years has been taken..

On other board, we have a guy (named Tony) who started and maintains a "Dead Thread" in which he is almost always the first person to post an obit. And frequently, he'll post something like, "my sources indicate that Farrah Fawcett is on her deathbed."

It's morbidly entertaining, and he's the butt of a bunch of jokes. In fact, someone the other day started a thread about whether messageboards are dying thanks to FB and Twitter, and someone posted - "Messageboards are not dead until Tony says they are dead." Got a good laugh out of everyone.

Oh, and he's a big Billy Joel fan. So at least I know it's not QS.

I'd think there are a lot of 30-40 year old guys that could claim this. RIP former Mrs. Lee Majors.

Good lord how did he get her?

Sad to hear.

It doesn't bother me when someone from my parents generation dies, but when celebs who used to give me a stiffy when I was 12 start dying it is a little troublesome.

The building that I lived in during college, Pearl St. Co-op, used to be a women's dorm back in the late 60s/early 70s. She lived there during her sophomore year at UT-Austin. That's my six degrees story.

That is the best poster ever. Talk about revolutionary. That poster vaulted millions of boys into manhood.

I was just a bit too young to really care much about her (or girls in general, when she was at her peak). Much like KISS with makeup and old Van Halen (pre-1984).

I have seen KISS in concert both with and without makeup on, and I will say that the makeup adds a certain mystique and effect to the performance that just isn't there otherwise. Van Halen was always better with Sammy Hagar in my opinion (let the flaming begin), DLR is soooo overrated.

As for Farrah....what can I say, except RIP Farrah. You will most definitely be missed.
