Ok, with that note, I'm heading to bed. I'll grab the file in the morning at some point before I get busy!

I just saw that! Crazy. I am going to go through and look at how good of run support the guy was getting.

Chunky Medina may have hit the wall, which sucks. He will stay in the rotation but I may take the AI's advice it has given the last two years and drop him down to the #3 or #4 spot. Most of my bullpen looked ok on July 1st, something tells me they got worse, or the run support cooled down.

Congratulations to Compton on another trip to the Classic. Don't come back without the trophy this time!

And good run there, Ann Arbor. allpro, you may always be a bridesmaid, but you're one heck of a consistent one.

Noticed that Tom Williams almost tossed the first perfect game in FOOL history, allowing just 1 walk while fanning 12 in a no hit effort against Hartford..

I forgot to reschedule the FOOL Classic to make sure the All-Star game doesn't impact anything. I'll fix it before we get started on Sunday.

Makes sense when you factor in that you left to Quad City.

This FOOL Classic will be the battle of strange ballparks. Compton's ballpark is designed for their left-dominant lineup. Or at least, the lineup was that way when I was there. Valdosta's ballpark is a pitcher's park designed for triples and other zanyness.

With that and the return of the DH to the FOOL Classic for the first time since 1963, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Looks like Joe Parks had a great rookie year replacing morris, i was hoping he could just be consistant at #5 but he went beyond expectations in the first half anyway.

Second year in a row a Compton pitcher has tossed a no-hitter. Although last year their pitcher walked 0 men as well.

Umm..you realize that you beat us in the FOOL Classic in the 13th inning of the 9th game, right?

Essentially, God got tired of watching, flipped a coin and you all won. We reversed the Compton curse before I left.

Nathan Adams had a terrible go of it in Compton, I released him too soon, but honestly, we needed that cap space to do things and so, I don't regret the move even though it was a boatload of cash.

I dunno what else I could've done at the time. I am glad to see his career blossom, though and especially out of our league.

Valdosta has the best postseason pitcher in FOOL history in Gabriel Prado and a bunch of other horses at the top of that rotation. Miracles can happen, but...you're gonna have your hands full.

I think the only saving grace is the depth of that Compton offense. But even still, I dunno. They're gonna be a tall order.

Yeah i was comparing the 2 teams and on paper they have the upper hand i think. Great pitching and offense all around. Just gotta hope for the best.

Yea, you did an amazing job with that team in such a short period of time. You made the right move with Adams however, I honestly did not expect him to turn around after moving from a hitters park back to a pitchers park. I am not sold on the curse being lifted if there was one as I think that Valdosta will keep the Trophy in the CL for the third straight year.

I tend to agree with you. This is Valdosta's shot at destiny. Compton is good, but I'm not convinced their pitching is deep enough to hang with Valdosta. The only thing I could see happening is the Compton bats get hot, Valdosta's get cold and the DH levels the playing field enough that the Brothers manage to squeak it out.

The longer the series, the better the likelihood of a Compton win, I think. But...I'm not convinced it'll be a long series.

31 win improvement for Quad City a year after the move from Chicago. If we did that next year, we'd win 98 games. Not predicting anything, we've got a lot of work to do. But...still, a great sign of what's to come.

I find it funny that probably the best former Ranchero you had this year came to you from becoming a minor league free agent.

I prefer that. It relied on my brilliance and GM savvy to acquire him, rather than a trade handout.

I think it will be interesting to look back at what we got and weigh it out. Davis is already showing he is a stud now. But the one guy I really had doubts about moving was Hardee, and he looked pretty good at the halfway point. In the long run, he has almost as much talent as Davis and may be just a year (well, maybe two) behind him.

Good thing that my lineup is primarily lefty dominated too, and that I will have 3 starting pitchers that are leftys!

The longer the series, the better the likelihood of a Compton win, I think. But...I'm not convinced it'll be a long series.

Oh glad you said something, I had almost forgotten that I actually have to set a DH lineup huh.. Out of curiosity who has home field advantage? It go to the best record (ie me?)

Sigh. My starters played pretty well (and rookie Ryan Cook is my first 20-game winner) and my bullpen was up and down (Miguel Lara, Israel Silva, and Arthur Bentley all had down years, while new closer Porter Gilbert played very well). But we finished with the worst hitting performance in the RL, so not enough run support except for the star pitchers.

Have to take a close look at the hitting lineup, we may need some revamping there...

Looks like the "Mike Vickers at 3B" and "Jose Espinoza in RF" experiments were miserable failurs, and SS Fernando Osorio had a down year. Everyone else was at least reasonable, although OPS was down across the board and my only .300 hitter was reserve Willie Magner (who will probably replace Jose Espinoza in the lineup next year).

Sigh, once again I have a lot fewer gold stars at the end of the season than I did at the beginning. Have to check development reports...

That is how it worked last season.

Glad to see my team's power numbers were back, with three players having 20+ homer years (Inman, Segura and Wyatt)... I still have absolutely no idea what happened last year where the team leader was 13!

Just noticed that in my file all of the ballparks are set back to 1.000 for everything? Is that just a case of not getting that information into the file that is sent to us, or did something change on all of them?

I was just going to scout Compton's ballpark some and noticed it. I don't really -have- to have that info, but just wanted to make sure that it is just a display issue and the actual parks haven't changed correct?

With that and the return of the DH to the FOOL Classic for the first time since 1963, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

With this quote I would assume that the parks were suppose to stay the way they were. I also see them all at 1.000 and I guess that is why my team had such a hard time pitching this year. It would be interesting to know when the switch happened as I did not pay attention at the mid-point file.

Well I originally assumed it was just a display thing until I looked more at the stats and saw them fairly equal both home and away so wasn't sure and figured I would ask.
