Ugh, that might explain my hitting changes, as I've got a power-based lineup to take advantage of the Green Monster...

I am convinced that Roberto Pagan is one of the most underrated players in the league. Only one all star appearance in his career yet he is 7th all time for career OPS, and currently is 16th all time for total VORP, but as his first year was 1965, the only player of the 15 ahead of him that did not start in the league in 1961 is Rick Inman (1964)

I'm not convinced that the parks were messed up for the regular season though.. If they were, can anyone explain my .740 winning pct at home vs on the road when my team was built to play in my park?

I still mostly assume it is just a display error due to the file not packing up everything for us.. it just had me curious.

I hadn't looked at this until just now, but I think the culprit was when I was changing Quad City's ballpark to a standard park, that OOTP might have decided to set ALL of the parks to 1.000. I should've double checked, but I didn't realize it'd happen.

Sorry 'bout that.

I've fixed the problem.

Wacky that you still did so well at home in spite of it. I think it might explain why Compton actually played better on the road, versus at home. They were in the .7xx last year at home too.

Like I said, I've fixed it now, so all of the ballparks are back to normal.

Not only did adding 30mil in salaries not improve my team, but to hear Williams being lights out sure adds insult to injury!!

61 wins??? You kidding me? My team is WAY better than 2nd last place overall. I'm not a contender, but sheesh. *sigh* At least I only have to wait a week to try again

Ugh, the all star game wrecked my pitching rotation

Ok, well I'm exported for the final series DC. I'm going to just go with my ace on Day 1 as normally he would be rested and ready to pitch other than the 9 pitches he threw in the all star game and just hope that those 9 pitches don't ruin game 1 for him!

Nope. I am moving the start of the series to five days after the all-star game like last year. I just forgot to do that before I exported the file to you all last night.

Both teams are in for the Classic, so we'll sim it tonight, so that we can get another file up tonight and give folks a bit more time to mull over who to re-sign, etc., in anticipation of Sunday night.

1969-70 Compton is the first back-to-back league champ since 1965-66 New York, who of course, won in '65 and lost in '66. No team has lost back to back FOOL Classics since 1961-62 St. Louis.

Gametime is here shortly. Good luck to both teams!

It is better than having it spoiled accidentally by seeing the last score first!

Nah, it doesn't matter. The only reason you'd have exported tonight is if you wanted to resign someone before the FOOL Classic. The file you get tonight will still be two weeks or so before FA starts, so you can do the same thing in this file as you could in the one that went up last night.

Good work in your first year. Winning a league title is a hard thing to do, much less in your first year.

It all came down to Williams going 0-2, doing the job in the season but failed in the classic.

I am relieved to win the title as I am feeling the time period for my team to quickly be fading. I think I'll be able to contend for another year or two, but all of my young guys are slowly becoming free agent eligible and their costs are going up... So I've reached the point the past few years where I am slowly having to let one or two guys go each year as I can't fit them under the salary cap.

This year I could only sign one of either Segura or Reyes, and that was a very difficult decision on which to keep and which to let go.

Third straight victory for the CL in FOOL Classic play. No league had ever won three in a row before this year. CL proves they know how to play DH ball when necessary, too, welcoming back the DH to the FOOL classic for the first time since '63.

After a crazy night of trades, trades and more trades...I'm preparing the league file now for upload.

Next export is due tomorrow night. It'll sim to arbitration, then Monday night's sim will be the regular sim to FA start. So you'll still get 2 attempts to resign your current free agents.

The file is 55.23 MB and it's just starting now. I'd wait an hour before trying to download. It'll likely be up before that, but I'm not gonna sit here and wait for it. I've got some other stuff to do.

But what if you wanted two shots at re-signing someone? Or what if someone was released in FA that you were interested in signing?

I'm sorry, but this was an awful awful idea to do this sim early without properly notifying the league. Frankly, I'm more than a little annoyed at this decision. It's okay to push sim times back in an online league. You never--EVER--move a sim time forward without making it absolutely clear to everyone in the league that that will be done.

Kinda have to agree with you on that one just because i was surprised to get home from work and see that my team had already completed game 4 of the sunday classic. Was kinda hoping to be here for the whole thing but atleast i didn't miss the whole thing. Maybe in the future we need to stick to the dates and times no matter what just so everyone has a fair shot at doing what they need to do. One week per season is already very fast and i like it as im sure most of us do or we wouldn't be here, But less than a week is a little to fast imo.
