1982 FOOL Offseason Thread!

The other thread had lived its purpose. Lets get excited about the offseason!

Tonight's fun fact. Masazumi "Slider" Sanu throws three pitches and none of them are a Slider. He throws a Fastball, a Splitter and a Changeup.

Is there any way I could request a 15 minute stay or so?

My little girl (8 weeks old) is a little cranky tonight, and I haven't been able to really get down to business as I'd like to.

If we can't, I understand!

If you need extra time, then that is fine. Just say when you're done.

I think we should have a thread where everyone who bid on "Slider" posts what they bid. It would be funny to laugh at all the outrageous bids he's gonna get.

The Tattler is available in all metro areas serviced by a FOOL major league franchise.

Dude, I promise you, Slider won't take "a half stake in the Tattler". It just won't work.

Puh-lease. Baseball is a hobby. The Tattler is my life. I would never give any ownership stake in the Tat to these louts. Half stake, pfffft. 48% max.

well, after you guys see what I have done.....I may be more unpopular than Mr. Violator.

Definitely went against my usual plan, but we all know what a talent this SP is. If it works out, I will have a cornerstone to my franchise for the next 10 years. It if doesn't, I think I have limited my exposure fairly well.

Still, I can't shake that I might not get him......

I remember a similar war for Artie Wiley. He ended up not taking the highest 2 or 3 offers and settling for a much smaller offer.

How does a player take an MLC over a guarenteed contract? I'm tired of that AI team.

Seriously, I offered ELEVEN million over a few season to Birkbeck to sit in my minors for at least a year, and he takes an MLC?

We really need someone running the AI team so we can have some hope of prying talent out of there in trade.

Was an "issue" that we found with several players that we think Markus ninja fixed in the last patch. Markus's comment regarding fixing players that have sudden rating dropings mid season without injuries involved we think was this issue.

My hypothesis on this was the player's ability got so high it somehow wrapped to the bottom again on one side. We've seen about a dozen players with similar issue.

We have not seen any happen though since the patch so hope/think it is fixed.

We discovered this back in the early 60's. This is why we went to a draft instead of just offering contracts to newly created players.
