Man, I gotta confess. Even though I am going to miss the playoffs, I am sitting here. It is tremendous to finally be on the relevant end and not the spoiler in these magic number games.

what a shame. i thought i really upgraded some holes. i guess it must be my pitching - outside of BJ Silver and Craig Davis i don't got no one. then again i upgraded my bullpen so i'd think that'd count for something. i think i'm shooting myself in the foot with my strategy - i'm a GM, not a manager. i don't know how to set it. i think i might just put everything right in the middle so i don't do too much or too little of something.

So now it's get funny, because the closeness of both of these races make you almost wish for no playoffs...but alas, they'll get to duke it out on Sunday to see who goes forward.

Congrats to all four squads.

I don't build my team with enough of the "same" guys that I can do much with the sliders, especially the pitching ones, so middle is exactly what I do. I don't fiddle with much except pinch hit for the pitcher in late and close situations and run more aggressively late and behind. Not that I'm an expert, my point is that as a non-expert letting the AI make the decisions from a neutral tendency seems to work better.

No worries. Like I'd say in the outset, I knew we'd be a year away going forward before I even got started. I didn't decide to contend until the last minute. Had I planned it, I'd have gone about it differently. That said, we're relevant again and we're a year away. That's fine. I know what I need to do and we'll do just that and we'll be in the conversation next year.

Good to see that Hartford is fallible to some degree, if only to hope that the juggernaut is slowly coming to an end...

I never used to fiddle with the sliders. I came up with a strategy a few years ago that worked well for me and I've stuck with it. It could possibly be killing me now with a new team, but...I feel like I went with the most universal settings I could.

It does not matter however, as Baltimore wins 5-2 over Napa Valley to take the 1984 Continental League Regular Season title!

Hartford beats San Diego 3-2 to take the 1984 Republic League title!

San Diego however will get a rematch in a few days as they are the 1984 Republic Shield winner

Atlanta is the 1984 Continental Cup Winner

Congrats to the playoff makers. Nice to see Chief and ek back to prominence in the CL, and muns remains a force. Ramz is just amazing for someone we thought might not have his heart in it.

And I am pleased to have finally brought NY back to relevance, and glad to see the same in Boston under DC. A lot of good stories this year. RG and Colo look like they are getting primed to make some noise too.

It is going to be a bit. I have to go through all of the finances to see if anyone went over budget and is getting penalized, I have to set the schedule for the playoffs, update player photos, etc.

So probably another 15 minutes

Wyoming totally killed my signature. I was kind of having fun with that but now it's gotta go.

I actually had offense this year. In fact I will say without seeing any files that this is the best offensive year I have had in several years. League leaders in AVG, HR, and RBI is a nice change.

Must mean my pitching dropped out from under me though. I can't get the two going at once it seems. I did go out on a limb this year so that may be the problem. I brought up two rookies for the 4th and 5th SP spots in place of the mixed-results vets who were there. I am guessing that backfired.

Nice to have Patterson back in RG by the way. He seemed to fit well in my stadium and showed it this year for sure.

I didn't even notice that, excellent. Glad he paid off for you. I won't feel bad about the move either because it meant Villalobos would become a lock for a full time gig for me, and he made the All Star team as well.

Packing up the file right now. I have to say that I despise how manual some things have to be done without any bulk options in places. bleh.

New file is up! The only order of business for tonight is the BoD at large seat. As only one person was nominated, there is no need for a vote this time around.

TimGuru will continue for another 6 FOOL Seasons as the At Large Board member.

Well I got hit by the "fall off the face of the earth" bug. CF Jose Lopez lost about 60 contact this year. Someone tell the german that this is NOT fixed.

Strike that, he lost 80 points of contact vs righties. Lovely.

Whew....Just got back from a night out with my lil hottie and now this. Looks like I missed a great season, but I have to like the end result!

Congrats to the usual suspects!

Just looking at this years accomplishments when I think you overlooked who actually was the record holder. It was the same guy, Steve McGill with 29 straight hits in 1977.

This pisses me off to no end. It can't happen to a bench player. Nope. Just a cornerstone of my offense.

After looking at the team vs. team records this statement is histerical.

Wow, and we have a new SP atop the single season strikeout leaderboard. Randy Wright of Wyoming struck out 156 batters, while only fanning 299 times himself. It appears Wyoming really wanted to secure that #1 draft pick.

You got lucky, they are virtually identical players up until the moment the game decides to take a crap.

*edit
Correction. Lopez was the better player til this moment. Stupid OOTP.

Good job getting lucky.

My mistake. Some of the screens aren't super intuitive of figuring out who was the former leader.

So hypnotic.....

Congrats to the four finalists!

I'm content with how my team did. Got two decent stat bumps over the course of the season. I'm letting Julio Martinez hit the FA market, now that's he's fully converted into an SP. :P
