Quick water break and then I'll start up the second half if there are no more requests at that time!

I guess im kinda holding my breath as well. I was hoping for some pretty big things this year, but its looking like that isnt going to happen. My bull pen must be blowing games right and left, as somehow 2 of my 4 starters made the all star team?? My team is a lil ass backwards at the moment I think.

Apex is just tearing it up

He fanned 28 in 46.1 innings, logged an ERA of 3.69 and allowed opponents to hit .220 against him.

Tuesday, July 1st, 2031: CL #1 Pitcher in June is Baltimore's Villa
Whether Manny Villa stays in Baltimore beyond this season remains to be seen, but while he's here he's making the most of it. In June the 33-year-old certainly pulled out all the stops by winning the Continental League Pitcher of the Month award.

He put up some fancy numbers with a 5-0 record and and an ERA of 1.54. In 41 innings he struck out 23, surrendered 34 hits, 9 walks and proved to be a solid performer in 6 starts last month.

This season Villa has 12 wins and 5 losses and a 3.32 ERA.

With a .357 batting average, 13 home runs, 29 RBIs and 28 runs scored, he was a solid choice.

Tuesday, July 1st, 2031: Kelley Hauls in June's Best Rookie Award
Sherwood Kelley's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Hartford catcher has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In June he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.

During the month he hit .266 with 6 doubles, no triples and 1 home run. Kelley also scored 8 times and drove in 9 runs.

In the current season, Kelley has put up a .232 batting average with 61 hits, 6 home runs, 42 runs batted in and scored 32 runs.

Tuesday, July 1st, 2031: Rookie Wiz Gets June Award in CL
Dave Juteau is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest Continental League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.

In June the Tokyo hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .438 average with 42 hits, 7 home runs and 22 RBIs.

So far this season Juteau is batting .373 with 22 home runs, 66 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 118 hits in 316 at-bats, 24 walks and a .449 OBP. Juteau has played in 82 games.

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2031: Ohayashi Hurls Shutout
After his 6-0 shutout win against the Harpooners, Isoruko Ohayashi said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."

They were better than good as the Rancheros pitcher put up 11 strikeouts, surrendered 4 walks, allowed 3 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

Up to now Ohayashi has recorded a record of 6-9. In 21 starts he has fanned 71 batters in 122.1 innings with a 4.56 ERA.

Thursday, July 24th, 2031: Boston's Collin Reaches 2000 Hits
The Boston contest with Napa Valley featured a real shining moment: Richie Collin, the Settlers first baseman, collected career base hit #2000. That his team lost the game, 7-4, took away only a little bit of the luster. Fittingly, the 36-year-old Collin, who went 1-for-4, received a warm ovation from the Ballpark of Boston crowd.

Collin has played in 1847 games and posted a lifetime .296 average. He has 2000 hits, 466 doubles, 41 triples and 218 homers. In addition he has driven in 1044 runs and scored 1015 times.

It seems my bats are all MIA this year. My starters are being decent, which is all I ask, but my bats, which looked pretty good heading into it, seem to have fallen silent for the most part.

Monday, July 28th, 2031: Hitting Streak Stopped at 21 Games
The Heroes lost to Hartford today by the score of 11-2 at New York Grounds, but the bigger story was the end of a hit streak. New York second baseman Aaron McIntosh was working on a 21-game hitting streak, but went 0-for-4 against the Harpooners as the hot stretch came to an end.

McIntosh is batting .333 with 17 home runs and 54 RBIs this season.

Friday, August 1st, 2031: Rancheros Ohayashi July's Top Hurler
When Isoruko Ohayashi takes the hill, chances are good for a Colorado victory. At least that's the way it was in May.

He excelled with a 5-1 mark and 1.78 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 50.2 innings, fanned 34 and held others clubs to a .208 average.

That's why the Rancheros star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Republic League.

So far this year Ohayashi has a 7-9 record with a 4.32 ERA.

Friday, August 1st, 2031: Continental League Picks July's Best Batter
Free agent-to-be Ben Keyte has inflated his asking price over the past 30 days by winning the Continental League Batter of the Month.

In July, the 37-year-old Baltimore right fielder hit .320 with 10 home runs and 36 RBIs.

If he keeps putting numbers like that up, he could be hauling in a big wad of cash at this time next year.

Keyte is presently hitting at a .322 pace with 31 home runs and 115 RBIs. He has played in 111 games and scored 85 times.

Friday, August 1st, 2031: July's Top RL Rookie Named
With July's Republic League Rookie of the Month title slung over his shoulder, Danjuro Ikeda has no reason to be modest about his statistical output. But he was, telling BNN reporters, "I just put the bat on the ball a lot and a lot of them fell in. It was just my month to shine."

The 25-year-old blistered the baseball last month as he posted a .216 batting average, 16 hits, 7 home runs, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

Thus far in 2031 Ikeda is hitting .258 with 14 home runs, 45 RBIs, 33 runs scored and has compiled a .281 OBP.

Friday, August 1st, 2031: Sweet Swing, Sweet Month for Rookie Serrea
Swinging a hot stick in July, Júlio Serrea picked up the Continental League Rookie of the Month Award today.

The 24-year-old left fielder for Boston lashed 37 hits as he put together a .336 average with 4 home runs. He also drove in 20 runs, scored 25 times and drew 6 walks on his way to a .402 OBP.

In 111 games this year Serrea has posted a .305 average and put up these numbers: 13 home runs, 71 RBIs and 75 runs scored.

Tuesday, August 19th, 2031: Geldard Launches Number 300
Hammersmith right fielder Justin Geldard blasted himself into an elite group of baseball players. Today he joined the exclusive 300 home run club in the Hooligans 11-10 loss to the Hartford Harpooners.

"As soon as I hit it, I knew it was gone. I was happy to move on. Now I can go and have some fun. It is a weight lifted off my shoulders," Geldard told the press. He admitted just how much pressure he had been feeling. "Especially every time you'd get out of the hotel, everybody would say, 'Hey, when are you going to hit it?'"

In his milestone game, Geldard went 1-for-1 with 2 runs batted in and 1 run scored.

In his career stats Geldard has compiled a .279 batting average and collected 1628 hits, 300 home runs and 956 RBIs.
