I was wondering if you were going to point that out. I think our away record has something to do with that. 50-19 is pretty darn good outside of our house.

Thanks Teach!

I'm hoping this season we're more than just a regular season boom. I'm not sure how anyone from the RL is gonna match up with the CL though.

Yeah, everything seems to be kind of misaligned between the two though so I think it's anyone's guess.

As for me... the new job is seriously kicking my butt. I have to go to bed and just hope that when I wake up I'll find I have a spot in the playoffs. Good night all. Congrats to the other playoff teams in advance!!!

Napa Valley plays their final 3 games @ Tokyo
Edmonton plays their final 3 games vs Baltimore

meanwhile Frank Dawson has to face Colorado in his final 3 games at an attempt for .400, but the games are at Colorado which might help in that thin air.

With the win, Napa Valley has clinched the final playoff spot on the next to last day of the 2035 season!!

Dawson goes 0 for 4 against Ueda with 3 strikeouts and is now hitting .399 for the season. With one game left, he needs to go 2 for 4 or 3 for 5 most likely to break .400 now!

The final game for Frank Dawson in this season will be vs Manny Villa of Colorado. Villa is 10-12 with a 6.40 ERA on the season and gives up 12+ hits per 9 innings this season.

For his career, Frank Dawson is 34 for 88 which is a .386 average vs Manny Villa.

9/25:

In the Colorado vs Chico game, there are 25 hits. Unfortunately for Chico fans, 18 of those were by the Rancheros!

In his first at bat, Dawson grounds into a double play to end the inning in the first.

In his second at bat during the 4th inning, Dawson flys out to left field and is 0-2 on the day. He pretty much needs all hits from here on out.

Dawson gets a single in the 6th inning, to improve to 1 for 3 on the day, but he still needs at least another hit if not two!

In the 7th, Dawson fouls off 5 pitches before striking out and effectively ending his hope for .400 on the season.

Dawson has a chance to come to bat in the 9th, but Soto strikes out swinging with Dawson in the on-deck circle to end the game!

Dawson ends the season with a .398 avg, but had perhaps the most impressive season ever in the history of FOOL for any batter. (more on that later)

Frank Dawson becomes just the 4th player in FOOL history to win the Hitter's Triple Crown!

The previous three include two hall of Famers:

Felipe Aguilera

.715 Slugging % this season is 4th all time for a single season
1.145 OPS for the season is 4th best of all time.
186 RBI in a season is 2nd best of all time. (Record is Felipe aguilera with 194 in 1997)

Other notables around the league:

Since it was also previously a topic of discussion.. Hammersmith wins 1 more game than New York this season but will be drafting three picks later thanks to the expansion teams.

The top 10 picks in the upcoming draft:

1) Ann Arbor
2) Tokyo
3) Apex
4) Hartford
5) Baltimore
6) New York
7) Newark
8) Hyannis
9) Hammersmith
10) Edmonton

so my infield minus my catcher commits roughly 100 errors for the season.

Id say that was an epic fail with my 3b himself contributing 49 himself!!!

It took quite a few years to do it, but Miguel Rodríguez finally did it. The Rebels catcher swatted hit #2000 this afternoon at Rebels Ballpark, but still came up short in the victory column. The New York Heroes came away with a 2-1 win over Chico. Rodríguez was 2-for-3 in the loss.

Rodríguez is batting .281 lifetime with 2001 hits, 483 doubles, 14 triples, 196 home runs, 1031 RBIs to date. He has also scored 1091 runs.

You know, what seems like years and years ago, I saw a downward trend in Rodriguez's numbers and let him go (plus, he wanted way, way too much $$). And dern it all to heck, he's been plugging away anyway. Good show for MigRod.

MigRod combined with RafRod (Rafael Rodriguez) to give Alan constant headaches when doing playoff rundowns during the Hooligans' last playoff stretch.

I second the not knowing what we were talking about for myself, considering no way in heck did I expect to be contending for a playoff spot this year--and with a better Pyth record than Chico as well.

I had this feeling when plans were announced that I would be the one screwed. I am ALWAYS the one screwed in these types of situations.

Nah, I think you're just better at talking about how you're screwed in these types of situations. I think some of us are just better at suffering in silence.

Looks like the server had a momentary blip but is ok now for me. If you can't download in game, you can always try manually to see if that works also.

Let me know if you still have problems:

Smack talk can be fun as long as its not insulting though! I think it is great that you showed the rest of the CL who was boss for two years straight.

Now you just need Hensley to not implode in the playoffs again.
