I need an HDTV too, hopefully the new summer job will help me be able to get one...however, for the time being I can take my 360 to the parent's house for hi-def on the plasma.

I'm really pumped for this game, moreso than the 360 in general.

The playbooks are bigger on 360, but there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to run a reverse on a next-gen console. Off the field, the Dynasty mode gets the job done, but the features are eerily similar to NCAA Football 1998. That is play season, recruit players, play season, etc"

Now, I could live w/out the Chase for the Heisman mode, but I wish they would go into a little more detail on what exactly is missing from the dynasty mode on the 360 version.

Same here. I always created a guy in Chase for Heisman, but would abandon because the interface for it was so crappy. I can live without.

But why no trick plays? WTF?

Yeah, that's the problem I have. The only "play time" begins at 11pm+, totally hosing me for the next day. I tell you, life is hell

I guess I'm lucky...two of my roommates love to play and we set up a season with a team apiece, and play head to head every game...it's pretty fun. And after about a season we had an unsaid agreement not to run HB direct and keep competition "fair".

I'm gonna rent this when it comes out (on the 360) and would like to have a FOFC non-cheeser to play against Maybe I should bump the XBL gamertag thread when next month rolls around. BTW my name on there is kingneb. Anyone from here can add me.

While we wait, anyone still play NBA 2k6 on the 360? I'm always looking for a game of that

I still play NBA 2k6. And, I'd definitely like to play you and some of the other FOFC 360 players when NCAA comes out.

We should definately start a thread for setting up games when NCAA comes out. Although I'm warning you, I'm probably a win for most opponents.

Oh...and with the purchase of the 360, I pre-ordered NCAA. I'm looking forward to the additional games and "live" stadiums the game has since the PSP will not have these options (though I wish both had the Spring game).

Gamespot has some more gameplay videos for the 360, and they are also beginning to countdown the top 25 teams (according to the game). You can find it here: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6153236/index.html

A few things things I noticed - there are some new cut-aways when the quarterback is approaching the line/calling the signals that are particularly impressive. They also have recycled a lot of the play-by-play, which seems to be the norm. Whoever's playing the game seems to have the ability to both run the ball and throw it. Does this mean dropped ball disease is gone?

Someone else on the gamespot threads said the same thing I was thinking: It's refreshing to see successful short passes and screens, however, it looked like the passing offense was like a hot knife through butter. Mind you, why would EA show dropped passes/incompletions in a "show-off" video?

I've been impressed with what I've seen on gamespot as well. As far as dropped ball disease, there is a long video on ign, but I'm not an insider. However, others who have seen the video have said that dropped balls seem much less infrequent than previous versions. I'm really hoping it is true.

This'll sound really lame, but this is the only game the I yearly get psyched for where I actually count the days until release. It's almost like Christmas for this 37 year old, despite that fact I've felt the last two versions were disappointments.

Anyone else think the players move kind of weird? Doesn't seem like the players shoulders go up and down. like just their legs are moving. Roadrunner style.

This is not the only game, but this is biggest game for me each year, although I've also been disappointed by the last 2 versions. Can't wait until the 18th

Does anyone know how long the XBox versions of EA games will be supported? My PS2 is dead, and I won't be playing enough to warrant paying a large amount for a 360 plus all the other stuff. So I was just thinking of picking up a somewhat cheap XBox and using it for NCAA and Madden this year. Just wondering if anyone knows if the '08 versions will be playable for the XBox.

Most "experts" predict that the Xbox and PS2 will be supported by EA Sports for 2 to 3 years at least since it will take quite a few years for the percentage of people who have a next gen machine to equal the current gen ownership. However, as Craig said, no one knows for sure.

dola,

Well, after reading up on the game today.. I think I'll stick with the ps2 version if it gets good reviews. I like the improved playbooks and trick plays. I also found my max drive to get the rosters when they are released.

Does anyone know if there will be a way to get the rosters for the 360? I do have a memory card and could mail it, if it was to someone people on here have used before.

I'm pretty sure there is a save transfer device on the market already, but I'm not sure of the name.

Yeah, check out the maddenmania message boards. There's a guy on there who will be giving away the rosters for free. All you have to do is download then, and then use the transfer kit for the 360 (about $14.99) to take it from your PC to a memory card.

He will also transfer it to your card for a fee, but the quickest is to just use the transfer kit. Last year, he got the game days before release so the rosters were available upon general release. FYI, he does both XBOX and XBOX 360.

that sounds like what i will do- just have to go find the transfer kit before the game comes out because i'm sure they will be harder to find after.

I pick mine up when I get the game. The store I buy from (Rhino) will load it on your memory card for free. It is the only reason I bought a memory card for the xbox. I guess I will have to buy one now for the 360 too.

Terpkristin is sending me out a Nintendo DS. I was hoping to see that the game would be available for it, but I guess that's not happening.

Maybe I'll just order for the Xbox...or just wait.

I love this in Part two of the ps2/Xbox discussion:

Quote:
For the first time ever we have multiple defensive playbooks based on style as opposed to one global defensive playbook. Each team will be assigned one of the following playbooks based on their style: 4-3, 3-4, 3-3-5, 4-2-5, and multiple D. Each of these playbooks have several new formations and plays, including new versions of the 4-3 (over, under), 3-4 (under, over, solid), 3-3-5 (split, cougar, bear), 4-2-5 (over, under, bear). We have also added the 4-6 bear defense as well as the quarter 3 deep set.

Similar to TCY and BBCF, you get to pick your defense that best suits the types of recruits you're bringing in.
