You're right. Noah is bigger, faster, and more athletic.

I wasn't comparing their playing styles, which are not similar at all. But people were saying that whatever team got Noah would be getting a steal because of his work habits and such.

Hansbrough is a much more complete, better player than Noah will ever be. And his intangibles are much higher than Noah's as well.

Hansbrough is a great college player, but Noah was as good or better. Hansbrough will not make an impact in the NBA, while Noah is putting up good numbers in limited minutes. "Intangibles" are what people talk about when they don't have any good justification for preferring one player over another.

UNC handles the press for more than 1 possession in a row and opens up a little bit of a lead, whew.

hahahahahah. I don't have Vitale here, raycom for the ACC region.

DAMN that was a huge shot by Green. Also its beautiful to see Lawson go by someone on that last layup, he's still not 100% but maybe getting closer?

I'd like to see Quentin Thomas' +/- numbers for his career compared to the Heels' starting PGs over that time. It's always terrifying to see him in there late.

if clemson could make free throws, they would have swept UNC this year in all 3 of these games.

His much better line today was:

Georgia is trying to annihilate Arkansas, it's 28-11 with 9 minutes left in the first half.

Texas/Kansas just wrapped up an unreal shooting first half. At one point the teams had combined to shoot 17-25 from behind the arc. I'm guessing that their points scored in the first 20 minutes will exceed those of Illinois/Wisky over 40 minutes.

What the hell has gotten into Georgia? Up 30-13 on Arkansas in the SEC Final.

Their turn to be that team that has the unexpected tournament run perhaps?

edit to add: I don't mean to state the obvious there, just saying that it seems like somebody usually does something similar to this (doubleheader notwithstanding) about every year. Looks like this is their year to be that team.

I know the Georgia lunatic fringe (well, this is UGA, so it's probably more than just a fringe) doesn't like the prospect of Georgia making the tourney, as it probably saves Dennis Felton's job.

Makes sense, as I'm not nearly as bothered by it for exactly the same reason

I gotta ask, did you steal that line & paraphrase Felton's comments about Kentucky yesterday?

edit to add: For those who didn't see it, Dennis Felton made a remark to the effect that "I know they breed thoroughbreds up there but they sure do have a lot of family members all of a sudden".

They have to stop hitting everythingthey throw up at some point. And Arkansas has to start hitting eventually. I think this will at least be close at some point in the 2nd half.

I hope.

You got me curious so I looked up the quote:

By tip-off, there were fewer than 100 fans in Georgia colors in the coliseum. Kentucky fans outnumbered them 4- or 5-to-1. Said former Auburn basketball coach Sonny Smith: “I know they’re known for horse breeding in Kentucky, but I didn’t think they could come up with this many (players’) family members in 24 hours.”

My bad on the quote attribution there. Now that you mention it, the good one-liner was Sonny's, Felton just bitched about it.

MJ4H - re: the off-topic ... I'll give credit where it's due, looks like UGA has a darned good baseball team this season. I'm not really looking forward to the extended family outing this coming Friday as we go watch them vs UT (most of the other 9 going are Georgia fans).

I've been meaning to ask -- didn't what Arkansas just did on the inbound play used to be illegal at some point? Inbounding to the backcourt when the inbounds came from the front court I mean

I'd think 13 would be appropriate, and probably closer to a 14 than a 12.
