Funyun Johnson accepted his contract offer (thanks!) I think I screwed up his build pretty badly though. I made a better one, OT Subway Sam Fitz. We can swap them out if you like.

Also available if needed...SS Dixon Payne.

Heh. See, I didn't really know the proper contract offers. I added a set amount to what was already there and a set signing bonus. I don't think it shows me the offers that you're getting elsewhere.

I think, so long as it's a one year contract, the contracts you are giving out are allowing us to do the training we need. Extra money is good but I'm not going to cry about that for the first season.

I can see the European Pro League offering more because of the level of competition, but man that Canadian AA offer is crazy though. If I were Skydog I might just take that one..

BTW, there is a team forum at the bottom of the list of forums on GLB's forum page. I don't know if that's crucial information, but few seem to have noticed it yet. You can see it after you've signed on to the team.

If it's a human owned team, yes you did (unless a trade can be worked out). But if it's a CPU owned team, then larry can just sign you off the team no prob.

Don't forget that you can buy equipment and these give you powerups in your stats (you pick which when you make the equipment). Except in the case of the custom item, you spend your salary, not Flex points. The custom item uses Flex points but it can give you a bonus of +6 in whatever you want it to.

I havent complained because I honestly don't know what fair compensation is either.. All I do know is right now I'm spending 2 times as much every day on training than what I am getting paid though.. so that won't be able to keep it up

I did this with the rest of my remaining flex points to add +6 stamina to me.. I am fairly strong and have some pretty decent skills for early on, but my stamina was horrible.

Most I could spend on training is $400 day - Larry's paying me $500. I'm happy with that. How the hell are you guys getting $1,100/day offers?

Yeah, training money comes out of pocket. For instance I'll go broke in 10 days, and will have to then back off my training. Hopefully my performance on the field by then will encourage my GM to renegotiate!

Okay, so what I need to figure out is how the training costs work depending on level and position. That way everyone's training can be covered properly.

It also costs more to train the higher your level, so the 1st and 2nd level guys don't have to pay as much.

A point that I've read that seems applicable here is that, once the season is under way for us new guys, we can't train at the highest level anymore because we won't get back enough stamina points. So I'm judging my salary against the normal setting, and I'm fine there. With intense I'm spending about $74 over my daily, but today is the last day I expect to be able to use intense.

Here's the quote from the forums:

Quote:
The Training Focus you get in each skill all depends on the training intensity.

In GLB there are 3 types of intensities (Relaxed, Normal, Intense). Where your training intensity is set is the factor that decides how much training you will get at a skill.

If you train at a skill with a RELAXED intensity you will get minimal training at the skill trained.
If you train at a skill with an INTENSE intensity you will get maximum training at the skill trained.

For Example)
CB Felix Manusin is training in agility:
When training at RELAXED intensity = +0.36/day
When training at NORMAL intensity = +0.42/day
When training at INTENSE intensity = +0.46/day

Remember that the energy and the cost of training is effected on how high or low you set the training intensity.

$10 * (Your Player's level) = Cost of Training at RELAXED
$75 * (Your Player's level) = Cost of Training at NORMAL
$200 * (Your Player's level) = Cost of Training at INTENSE

Thats what I was trying to figure out, but wasn't sure how much stamina would be hit. I have alot of +stamina stuff to hopefully be able to play hard and train intensely for a bit, but I guess its one of those things that I'll have to see how it plays out and adjust accordingly.

If that post is true, even the level 4 players should only be $400/day for intense training. No one at level 4 was offered a contract lower than that (not sure it's even possible), so I'm confused as to how people are saying they're spending more for training than they have.

It's $800 a day for me at level 4, so there must be a missing multiplier somewhere.

EDIT: from looking at my costs, it looks like in that quoted bit they have $100 where they should have $200. It looks like the first two are right.

Okay, I'm out for now, but when I get back tonight, I'll start offering some renegotiations for everyone on the team so you're making enough to do intense training.

Ahem.. a pass blocking left tackle? Seriously, we only have one tackle and he's a level 1.

We don't have a human C signed yet. I know someone made one though.

We don't have a human FB signed. I think I remember someone made one of these too..

Only two DTs and three CBs signed as of yet.

Oh yeah, no punter yet.

I'd love to join a human team.

Daniel Schoonover, Kicker, already a level 4, will kick good for you. I need to make more then $300 a day (that's what my CPU team pays me and it's 1 buck more then how much my normal training costs.

So, would it make sense to use the rest of my flex points to level up straight away? Or is there sense in saving them?

I've read both. The one thing people are saying often is that stamina is very important, because the amount of time you are in a game is what gets turned into your experience points. The longer you can play, the more experience you get.

But others have said that if you dump all your points into stamina, you have a crap player who never comes out. This isn't good for the team. So there's a tradeoff point. Some folks I read said that you should shoot for around 20 points of stamina for a 4th level player (which is what you can go up to by using all the flex points allowed).

Dang, forgot the saving part -- the reason to save is to get the easier level up from the season (you get fewer points in training the more points you already have), then before the end of the season do the flex point boost. You wind up with more overall points that for the season that way, but you do have a character that isn't all that good for almost the entire season.
