US has made a great comeback in curling, down 4-0 but now winning 6-4 in the ninth (though the Swiss look like adding at least one here), doing a lot of that scoring without the hammer.

Hell yes, it's up there with skiing moguls and the snowboarding events as one of the best sports at the Winter Games, definitely more entertaining than stuff like cross-country skiiing, figure skating, and hockey.

Damn, Shuster left the final throw about 1-2 inches short, now it's going to extra innings. Second straight game he's been just off when it matters most.

What time is the Halfpipe final tonight? I thought I saw 10;15 east but I can't find it now. I want to see Shaun White bust out the double cork.

Man, those snowboard uniforms are hideous. They remind me of when our old TV used to go out of whack.

Gosh, this guy can't get a break. I don't think he does himself any favors at all, but...goodness, it's really unbecoming of the people in this sport to be so catty every four years.

Damnit, another one-point/final throw loss in the curling for the US. At 0-3 with the Canucks and Brits still to come it will be near impossible for them to make the semifinals.

Germany/Sweden on MSNBC in the late 2nd. Germany hit 2 posts on a 5x3 and D. Sedin blatantly jumps into Germany's goalie for their ensuing 1-0 lead. I forgot how awesome the Olympics non-commercial break action was.

And Sweden gets another power play right away after a crappy penalty call by the ref.

This has been the most fun night of coverage so far. I can't help but notice there is no figure skating but we've had snowboarding, speed skating, short track, and downhill.

Those are some sweet flannel nightshirts they have! Almost as good as the blue pjs with the snowflakes the women's mogul team wore.

(Wait...those were stars? Totally looked like snowflakes from a distance.)

My wife and I had this conversation a couple of nights ago.

Me: "That's kindof cool- they have snowflakes on their uniforms" (the guys and girls both had them, I think)
Her: "Those are stars."
Me: "Oh"

Shaun White was fucking sick!!! He got some SERIOUS air there on his straight-air, and massive air on the double corks too. Just insane!

That's what I just said - no way anybody tops that - they'll have to go all-out to beat it and they'll mess up.

White's first run is good. His second run is going to be awesome. He has nothing to lose and playing conservatively won't get him anything since he already has such a great score.

it's not over yet dan...that was just the first runs for everybody. all that's ruined is that you know that Shaun threw down a hell of a run (which isn't really any surprise)

Honestly if White doing great is a spoiler then the Olympics announcement should have read:

Spoiler

It's one of the biggest givens in sports.

I was talking with my wife: he gets so much more air than everyone else so he has that much more "space" to do elements.

Hm... should we have some spoiler protection for the NBC events? Even for west coast?

I mean, the curling or hockey stuff that you can only see online or is shown live- well, that's live. But what about the primetime stuff?

Should we do something like this so people know the event and can look if they're watching it but it saves the others?

How on earth does he go so much higher than everyone else? It's like he has some kind of anti-gravity boots or something.
