Top Fielders Honored by Continental League
Tuesday, November 13th, 2170: Good glovemen take pride in their defensive skills. They know they make a difference in baseball. Even on days when they don't get a hit, they feel they can make a difference in the field -- and they do. The Continental League announced its Best Fielder Awards honorees for 2170. This year's recipients are:

Pitcher: Eldon Jordan (Noblesville Millers)

Ramírez Grabs CL 2170 Rookie Honors
Wednesday, November 14th, 2170: 2170 was a much better year than Orlando Ramírez expected. This spring he was overjoyed at just making the Brooklyn roster. Not only did he make the team, he was the starting center fielder. Then it got even better.

In his debut season, Ramírez hit .291 with 122 hits in 419 at-bats, 29 home runs, 95 RBIs, 51 bases on balls and a .392 on-base percentage -- good enough numbers to be honored with the Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

Wednesday, November 14th, 2170: Han-seung Paek's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Toronto Marlboros and today he walked away with the 2170 Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

The 23-year-old starter registered a 15-5 record this season in 32 starts. Over 203.1 innings he gave up 174 hits, struck out 123 and issued 78 walks as he held the opposition to a .237 batting average and fashioned a 3.19 ERA.

Brownstones Star Receives Gabriel Prado Award
Friday, November 16th, 2170: In the twilight of his career, Jesús García has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon. The 36-year-old Brownstones starter hoisted up the Continental League Gabriel Prado Award earlier today, silencing critics who thought it was time for the "old man" to retire.

García crafted an ERA of 3.41 as he won 19 games, dropped 7, fanned 133 and gave up 60 walks in 227 innings of work.


Top RL Pitcher Announced
Friday, November 16th, 2170: António Arellano has done something few relievers ever do -- win the Republic League Gabriel Prado Award. Today the Hammersmith reliever got the news on the heels of his spectacular 2170 season.

He tossed 75.1 innings as he put up a 8-3 record and 46 saves. Arellano also compiled a 1.31 ERA and collected 74 strikeouts as he held opponents to a .209 batting average.

2170 Premier Batter Picked By CL
Saturday, November 17th, 2170: One of the Continental League's most coveted honors is the Hideaki Tanaka Award. When the votes were tabulated, the 2170 recipient was the standout center fielder of the Baltimore Gothams, Jack Revill.

He starred this season with a .347 batting average, 228 hits, 39 home runs, 129 RBIs, .405 OBP and 126 runs scored.


RL Top Hitter, 2170 Choice Is Woods
Saturday, November 17th, 2170: Curt Woods got just what he wanted after deciding to enter the free-agent market: a strong offensive performance in 2170, highlighted by his selection as the Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

The 32-year-old third baseman for Omaha churned out a .278 batting average while amassing 174 hits, 38 doubles, 3 triples, 42 home runs, 99 runs and 106 RBIs.

His performance virtually guarantees him a lucrative payday from whichever team he signs with during the offseason.
