Earlier I threw DT and NTN out for conversation. Those are the only two non-cleared votes for PurdueBrad on Day 5. Neither of them voted on Day 3.

With Poli out, we don't have a guaranteed vote for Danny, but does anyone else think he is worth consideration?

For the scan tonight, do we have suggestions for target?

We've been talking about how the arrests don't require the wolves to "fake" their work.

Any thought that the mechanic could be that when a wolf "fakes" work, he is arrested?

That is truly thinking out loud. Perhaps that is the cover that the wolves would require to manipulate productivity, and obviously tip their hats.

You were able to get the movement organized well enough (8/8) so you completed two out of your three goals here, but that is not enough, and Drawdy Creek remains unconverted.

The double punch of the area being prepared by the companies being informed ahead of time plus the arrest of EagleFan for arson was enough to keep you down.

Totals:

Organization - 11/10, so you got the workers here very organized

Treasury - 6-8, but you failed to get them the money they need for striking.

As such, Lens Creek chooses not to unionize. Today was, unfortuantly, a failure. The combination of their preparation with the last minute arrest of Barkeep was damning.

Tomorrow there will be an Oust vote.

Night 7 actions are due by 1 am

So todays write up clearly states it was a last minute arrest, day 2 didn't indicate that.

No.

We already killed Pass and Jackal. That would mean BK, EF and USFL would all be wolves as well. I find that very unlikely.

Good point. I was going with DT's statement that they couldn't do anything today. If it prevented actions last night that is potentially good.

I believe we do suck at this, but I think we are getting a lot less information than the wolves, maybe I'm wrong.

We need to make tomorrow's vote count.

I don't like not knowing what mechanics are out there. It's hard to do any sort of planning knowing the wolves know rules about this game that I don't.

Again today, we lose because they can do something that we wouldn't be able to fight back from. I'm wondering if the "preparation" is a night move, eliminating their ability to make any other sorts of night moves, and that they are just playing the waiting game, waiting for us to fail enough camps to end the game without them having to be at the forefront, and letting us oust with minimal information. We've finally got some sort of CoT going, which is a good thing, but time appears to be running out, with all of our failures so far. I have to wonder, too, if the wolves know more about when the endgame is coming, and will be able to play the endgame on us without us even being aware of it?

On the scan.

My only guidance would be to pick a target that would provide us some information beyond a simple clear/wolf id. Give clarity to the evidence that we have.

This is what I'm afraid of now. Also, I'm thinking that Abe knew when he put the game together that the wolves would have the ability to block camps at will, using the arrest mechanic.

With the night kills not coming on the same day as the arrests, does that indicate that an arrest uses up the night kill action? Or does it prevent a kill, but allow for a bribe/conversion? Given that it looks like we're setup for a long game...maybe there aren't any conversions. The bribe amounts/immunity are just a distraction.

Sorry with so little information, I'm just trying to figure out what game we're playing.

Glengoyne, that last line is where I'm at, too. It'd be nice to know what was possible at any given "normal game day," assuming the events are planted in spots in the storyline where it makes sense.

You begin to load the train early. You are headed south. The mines are not agreeing to raise salary and benefits despite the fact that for 6 years, labor has been relatively quiet in WV in order to get the coal out and help the war effort. Now you are being pushed aside and ignored. Again.

The events about to occur will make the West Virginia Mine War of 1912-1913 look like a really argumentative tea party in comparison.

What you do over he next few days, and how successful you are at converting and completing missions will determine the fate of labor, not just in West Virginia, but the nation as a whole.

Another CoT rundown:

Most Trusted
- TheNorm
- Barkeep49

Next Level
- jeheinz72 (1 in 12 shot at being cunning, if exists, lowest chance of conversion among this level)
- EagleFan (0% shot at being cunning, middle of the road chance at conversion)
- Chief Rum (1 in 12 shot at being cunning, similar conversion chance as EF)
- Lathum (1 in 12 shot at being cunning, highest conversion chance of this level)

Middle of the Road:
- DaddyTorgo (caused explosion to possibly prevent a night action)
- USFLTecmo (arrested, if arrests cause lack of night action then why risk keeping a wolf out of the action for a day)
- Glengoyne (lack of participation by Schmidty would bring too much attention to himself if a wolf, snce Glengoyne has taken the spot he has not appeared to be wolfish)

At risk:
- claphamsa (some curious decisions and quiet play)
- ntndeacon (has been pretty absent)
- Danny (some questionable votes)
- PurdueBrad (questionable work action, a few curious votes)
- RendeR (no real feel, though my gut says to elevate him to middle of the road)

I'm thinking that the arrests have been so effective, that the wolves are either using that option at every opportunity they have or they are balancing the arrests with the night kills. The other option would seemingly be that they can use an arrest in the day, and still convert/kill at night. Which would simply mean that most everyone is a wolf, and that Abe himself is a sympathizer.

If the wolves can kill/convert and arrest on the same we are screwed because there have already been two nights with no kill/block which would mean there was a conversion.

The trains pull up in a city that will become infamous, where the forces of right and good and the law will collide violently with those of wrong and evil and the illegal. Even as you get off the train, the place seems stifling, as if the air about you senses impending doom.

You have arrived at Matewan.

Like Cabin Creek, Matewan will be a two-day venture. The work will accumulate over two days, and the mechanics will be identical.

The work that needs to be completed here is not that bad, actually.

Food Distribution: 10
Oratory: 10
Hunting: 8

There will be a vote to Oust today. There will be a mission today. Mission deadline is at 3:00 pm tomorrow afternoon. Day Eight is at 9 pm like normal.

As you finish exiting the train, you notice that TheNorm is not with you. He has simply disappeared. You sense that he will not be rejoining you.

However, you find Barkeep already here. The arrest warrant was fake and he has arrived here ahead of you.

Good luck in Matewan. You will not all leave alive.

TheNorm's role:

Union Recruiter – You are adept at understanding what makes a man or a miner tick. As such, you figure you are pretty good at finding Sympathizers. Once per night, as an action, you may Investigate a Miner to see if he is a sympathizer or not.

Well I was wrong and now my earlier theory on the mechanics looks wrong. This also looks scary in that there may have been conversions the two nights there was no night kill.

As you arrived in Matewan, you witness a scene repeated over and over again in West Virginia. Baldwin-Felts gun-thugs are evicting miner’s and their families. They believe these miners are associated with union activity, but have no proof. It doesn’t matter. The mines own everything here, the house, the stores, and the people.

However, you witness a scene you have never witnessed before. The Sheriff, a man by the name of Sid Hatfield (of the Hatfields and McCoys) walks up to the gun-thugs and tells them that they’ll need a warrant to evict the miners.

The gun-thugs are shocked. They say things like “This is our land,’ and “You know we can get them anytime.” Still, Sid will not be moved. Not only does he get the gun-thugs to stop the illegal evictions, but he forces them to put the things back into the house, and then tells them that guns are not allowed in town, and if they come back into town with guns, he will arrest them.

Not wanting to start a fight in clear daylight, and not sure how to handle the situation, the gun-thugs retreat but promise that they will be back.

Today you have a mission to recruit Sid Hatfield to your cause. This will be your last chance to recruit an ally in this game. Sid has the potential to be the most powerful ally of them all; a lawman who actually upholds the law and stands up to the companies, and cannot be bought.
