Boxing Anyone?
Anyone interested in joining the FOFC Gym and participating in a boxing dynasty should sign up here.
When you sign up I need to know: Fighter's Name Height Weight Build (extremely thin/ thin/ rather thin/ normal/ rather heavy/ heavy/ extremely heavy) Division desired (heavy weight, cruiser, light heavy, etc.) I will start with only 8 boxers, after getting the above, I will need to get follow up information on how you would like your ability points distributed. I can’t get this information initially because the points will vary based on your fighter’s height and weight. Each week you will be involved in a fight, you will train one of your skills and suggest a fight plan. I will put your opponent’s size, weight, record, and style of fighter on the board so you'll know what your are facing. I will help with the decissions, and will ultimately design the plan, but I'll want to know how you want to attack. Fighters that are unsuccessful will be retired and a slot will open for a new person to join the gym. However, a couple of losses aren’t as devastating in this game as in real boxing. In fact, many title-holders have double figure losses. Results will be posted and will include punch counts and overall score. If you have any question let me know. You have 56 points to distribute (14 are taken because of height). Your weight actually depends on where you place your skill points. Your options are: Strength - (obvious what this does, but the higher the number the heavier your boxer) Speed - (actually hand speed) Chin - (take a punch and avoid injuries) KO - (max 1/4 of Str. - increases the probability of a KO slightly the higher the number) Agility - (footwork, the ability to avoid punches, and the higher the number the lower the weight) Conditioning - (prevent tiring, take punches and slightly affects weight Cut Resistance ( 1 low, 2 normal, 3 high - keeps you from being disqualified because of cuts) Just so you know....when you train a catagory - if you beat someone with a higher ranking - you will add a point to the catagory trained. Let me know what you want to do or if you have any questions. |

Strength - 11
Speed - 9 Chin - 10 KO - 3 Agility - 10 Conditioning - 10 Cut Resistance - 3 I would like to train strength if that seems reasonable. I don't know what kind of training is recommended.

Afoci,
Training Strength is fine...but we wont have to determine that until we see who your first fight will be against. Your setup enables you to do any style, but you don't have a single strength...sort of average everywhere. That isn't a bad thing...it makes it harder for opponents to come up with a plan against you. If you want to tell me what style fighter your looking for, I can maybe help you fine tune some. |

Blade,
Correct, We can get an idea of your opponent first. FOR ALL - just a note. I have been doing this for about 5 weeks now and all my fighers are 1 or 2 in cut resistance and I've only had 1 fighter disqualified for bleeding. Also, I've never received a TKO for injury or bleeding. That means in approximately 35 fights it's come up 1 time. Just letting you know in case you want to take a risk...drop your cut resistance and go with more in another catagory. One more note - Strength is more important than KO for actually getting a KO. You can have 0 as your KO rating and still knock people out (typically you have to do it in late rounds, but it can be done). bertogarce - working on your points. |

Breeze,
Based on what you have said, please lower my KO to 2 and my cut resistance to 2, and raise my strength to 10 and my Agility to 13. Also, what game are you using for this dynasty?

Done. The game is available on the internet www.vivi.com. The actual engine used isn't a Dos based program, so unfortunately you can't play it at home. Breeze |

Blade,
Your Height/ Strength/ Agility/ Body Type ratio is placing you at 165-169 (Super Middleweight). Just to let you know...if you go very heavy you fall between 175-180 (Cruiserweight). If you want to fight Heavyweight...i suggest increasing Strength by a couple and dropping a couple in other areas. Or you can fight at a lower weight. |

Here are the starting stats for Pancho O'Kelly:
Strength - 10 Speed - 14 Chin - 8 KO - 2 Agility - 15 Conditioning - 10 Cut Resistance - 1 I'm trying to go for a fighter with great footwork and speed over strength. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Last edited by bertogarce : 06-12-2003 at 02:24 PM. |

Those numbers put you as a heavyweight. You'll start out between 202 and 208 lbs. Your weight will increase and decrease with training. |

Your set up is real good for a "dancer". In fact, one of the first fighters I created has very similar stats, and he's been real successful. I would suggest 2 things: If your going for footwork, your probably need better conditioning. If you tire out the sluggers will catch and pound you I would put chin at 9 to prevent injury points from accumulating, and to keep your fighter from being easy to knock down. Possible options are: Drop the KO to 1 or 0. If your a dancer, KO is't that important, you'll win most of your fights on points. Drop Str. Just be careful here. If the opponent sinces you can't hurt him...he'll come out bombing. Drop Ag by 1. 13 is still quite good. Let me know. By the way. Your fighter looks like he will come in around your requested weight of 157. Depending on where the final numbers fall, I might start you out at Super Welterweight and move you up when your weight increases. |

sterlingice,
You'll have 58 points to build your fighter. The way you are describing your boxer sounds to me like you can use a similar set up to bertogarce. At the heavier weights you'll find less dancers and more sluggers so it's not a bad idea. However, the sluggers can kill you if your not strong enough to hurt them. Read the above post for some suggestions, give me a set up and we'll massage it. It looks like your fighter will fit into the cruiserweight division. |

Saint,
At that height and rather thin I can't get you to 300 lbs. It would take a strength of 70 to get you there. If you go very heavy I can get you close (280 lbs) based on how you set your str and agility. If you want thin (again based on Str and Ag) you'll probably weigh in around 250. At 6'7" you'll have 51 points to distribute. |

Condors,
You've got 65 points to distribute. Weight gets determined by Str/Agility numbers, but you should be able to fall in around 139. Read through some of the above posts...it may answer some questions you have about the stats. Let me know if you have a question that isn't answered above. |
