Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Van Pelt – 285 of 520, 3046, 15:11, 72.9 rating

Down years but he dropped in ability.

Rushing

I’ll skip since Lemoine was only starting 7 games.

Receiving

Here are our receiving stats instead. Woodard led our team with 790 yards, and 6 scores - good stuff! Lemmon was second, also a good job for the TE.

Blocking

We didn’t do well here at all! As you can see.

Special Teams

K Shannon – 11 of 13, Long of 47, 21 of 22 PAT

Not a good year for our offense…

P Holdgate – 120 punts, 48.6 avg, 44 in 20

Great stats by Holdgate!

Brandenfeis – 2 PR RET TDs!

Defense

Carpenter led my team in tackles and was solid in other places like sacks. Conyers notched just 7.5 sacks but this was a down year for them. Not as many sacks from other places as I’d like.

Pass Coverage

We only had 5 picks on the year which was really bad. And not great in the pasdef either.

The 2046 NFL Offseason

Hall of Fame –

DE Kirk Rieke – Def. Player of the Year for the league, many All Pros, a key part of two teams. A 5th round draftee in my Dolphins era who came with me to the Panthers.

DT Jonah Joseph – Finished his career with tons of All Pros, was a stud and hoss for my Dolphins team in the first draft there and was arguably more important to their success than 1st round pick QB Vance.

Retirements of Note

SLB Carson Warren – Drafted at the Dolphins late and came in and played for my 3-4 Bucs. Good luck Warren!

Abe’s Boys Elsewhere

None

Staff Draft

Our West Coast experience wasn’t good and I am looking to grab a new OC. I hire OC Aidan Ackerman, Balanced, focus is O Line.

No other changes needed.

I’ll see you at the draft!

Can I get a stud QB from this draft? I was hoping to build around Van Pelt and thought that would be a different way to try to make this work! But he busted and we need to come out of this year with a QB. We have two studs but both are Hard to Read. I also interview some folks in other places as well like OT, WR and TE to target at 2.1

I sign all of my RFAs. I have 51 under contract and 18 mill for new players (I have lost 113 mill from last year’s purge)

I advance a day and make offers to…

WLB Giovanni Huffman, 5 years, 6.9 mill, 3 years

DT Jared Heard is available but I already have a NT and I only need one

Week 2 – Huffman signs!

I’ll see you at the draft!

We arrive and let me show you our two choices…

This is Alejandro Abrams. As you can see he’s strong at passing ranges other than deep, is very accurate and has all of the mentals save for reading d. I also like his low scrambling so he won’t steal carries from my RB. And he is hard to read. He is the top rated QB in the draft

And here is Deion Kemp, the 2nd rated B in the draft. He’s much more well rounded than Abrams, but he’s really bad at the two minute offense. I also like his lower scrambling. He’s also Hard to read…

So which one to do? With my luck my guy will bust and the other one will stand strong…

I take Abrams as he appears to be the best overall dork. And I like the alliterate name he sounds like a super hero – Lois Lane, Peter Parker, etc.

I’ll see you in 32!

2.1 – Who do I like that I targeted? FB Trent Gibson? The top TE went off the board a few picks ago and I don’t like any others. WR Larry Berry or Bradley McKnight? They aren’t amazing though. OT Mackenzie Shannon? I like Shannon a lot. He’s a run blocking specialist.

3.1 – How about FS Raul Boyd? Very few dbacks are left of quality and we need to get one somewhere.

4.1 – OG Raymond Coffey? He’s the top OG on the board. I grab him.

5.1 – SS Richie O'Donnell? SLB Allen Nemecheck? I go LB.

6.1 – How about DT Brody Newman? He’s the BAP and looks like he might be a grower.

7.1 – I need more LBs. The best on the board is WLB Clay Hopkins. Let’s grab him.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.1 – QB Alejandro Adams, Florida; 22/77
2.1 – OT Mackenzie Shannon, Florida; 27/62
3.1 – FS Raul Boyd, Kansas; 21/66
4.1 – OG Raymond Coffey, Pittsburgh, 24/50
5.1 – SLB Allen Nemecheck, UCLA; 27/48
6.1 – DT Brody Newman, Illinois; 36/45
7.1 – WLB Clay Hopkins, Virginia Military; 28/54

There you are!

Rookies?

Sure thing!

Here is Abrams for you! As you can see he busted in places like his range of passes, and others.

And let’s look at my 2.1 pick

This is Shannon for you. The run blocking is great and the pass blocking is okay. Enjoy them!

The NFL 2046 Regular Season

As a reminder I fast sim losses in year 2 and only unpack wins. Or sometimes a close loss like 37-41 that sounds fun.

Week 1 – At the Falcons – We are having away NFC South games again! We lose 27-41

Week 2 – Ravens – We lose 3-17.

CB Zaiser is out for a few weeks

Week 3 – At the Bears – We lose 13-28

Week 4 – Falcons – We win 23-3! MVP is Cesar Lemoine, 24 for 151, 1 score. QB Abrams was 21 of 37, 192 and 1:0. WR Wolfe the score. We had three picks by Boyd, Gelenaw and ILB Wiley. Wiley had a fumrec Score.

We are 1-3 at the first quarter.

Week 5 – 49ers – We lose 27-31. Wanna look? Okay! Lemoine 18 of 87 1 score; Adams 20 of 40, 197 and 0:2. Pick six by Wiley and Carpenter.

CB Zaiser is back

Week 6 – At the Rams – We lose 14-19

Week 7 – BYE

Week 8 – At the Seahawks – We lose 16-37

Week 9 – Saints – They are just 2-5 so this is winnable… They crush us 30-6. I shouldn’t have spoken…

We are 1-7 at the half.

Week 15 – Panthers – We win 13-7! Abrams, MVP, 20 of 39, 186 and 1:0. Score by Woodard. Pick by Boyd. A quiet win.

Week 16 – At the Browns – We lose 13-24.

Week 17 – At the Saints – We lose 14-41

We finish 2-14 and with the worst record in the league.

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Adams – 273 of 514, 2590, 9:15, 61.0.

We’ll need to work on this a lot

Rushing

With another injury to Lemoine we’ll skip this, but he did have 4.91 ypc on 141 carries in 9 games

Receiving

This was obviously a down year in passing and receiving as well.

Blocking

Shannon was disappointing in his 14 games with just 8 KRB. Lynch led my team in KRB and had the fewest sacks at just 3.

Special Teams

K Poston – 23 of 25, Long of 54, 22 of 23 PAT

That was a pretty good year for the rookie!

P Holdgate – 107 punts, 49.1 avg, 46 in the 20

Great year for Holdgate! He led the league in avg and was 3rd in % inside the 30

We had zero KR or PR RET TDs

Defense

Willey had a great year as my LB with a ton of tackles! Carpenter was second with 113 and he notched a nasty 7.0 sacks. I feel like I have unleashed him in a 3-4. Hopkins was with 3.5 sacks. Conyers had a very bad year and we’ll need to see improvement from him or else we’ll replace him.

Pass Coverage

Rookie Raul Boyd led my team in picks and pasdef and had a strong rookie season despite his bust. Carpenter notched a pair of picks and one pick six. Good stuff!

Special Teams Player of the Year – P Quinn Holdgate – This is his 3rd All Pro! Good job Quinn!

Rookie of the Year – K Risky Poston – He missed just two FGs and one PAT as a rookie? That’s worthy of my RotY award!

Heart Award – RB Brad Kelly – As Lemoine’s backup, notched 148 for 496 with 3 scores and had a solid campaign!

The 2047 NFL FA Period #1

We pick 1st and I need to emerge with a solid WR. I scout a few to target 1.1 or 2.1 I interview the top 5 WRs on the board. The top is a Hard to Read one and we’ll see what happens. I also interview 4 d backs, 2 TEs. Most come back very or normally overrated.

I sign my RFAs. We have 53 under contract and 92 mill in cap space

Who is in the final year of their deal, and what do they want

QB Van Pelt – 11 mill, 2 years – won’t sign he’s livid
CB Eli Zaiser – He’s down to 44/44, I’ll let him go after this year
TE Lemmon – He’s down to 42/42, I’ll also let him go after this year
SLB Carpenter – He wants 56 mill, 4 years

I give Carpenter his bigger deal after an All Pro last year.

Anyone I wanna make an offer to?

I make an offer to FS Morris Davidson. 15 mill, 3 years

K Brent Mergen was cut for cap reasons but I like my new K.

TE Percy Schultz – 10 mill, 2 years

TE Francisco Dixon – 19 mill 4 years

CB Theodore Boucvalt will be 65 mill for 3 years. Too pricey.

Week 2 – We sign TE Dixon

Week 9 – Davidson signs

Week 11 – Schultz signs!

I’ll see you at the draft!

The 2047 NFL Amateur Draft

I draft at the 1.1 WR Wesley Cleghorn who is Hard to Read.

2.1 – There is a stud RB still on the board if I didn’t have my RB – Mack Rhett. I really like CB Sammy Miller here so I grab him.

3.1 – Hmmm… How about Cb Brett Cavoretto? If they both work I can move one to S.

4.1 – How about WLB Will Carney? He’s the BAP at any position.

5.1 – Hmmmm… I take the top O Line on the board, OC Chandler Macias who seems to have fallen. Could play him out of position if needed.

6.1 – I need a solid backup RB – can the top RB on the board Tre Hartman help?

7.1 – I need another adequate WR and the top one on the board is WR Greg Vila. He looks like a grower.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.1 – WR Wesley Cleghorn, Arkansas, 51/76
2.1 – CB Sammy Miller, Georgia, 31/64
3.1 – CB Brett Cavoretto, Auburn, 26/60
4.1 – WLB Will Carney, Arkansas, 27/73
5.1 – OC Chandler Macias, Texas Tech, 37/70
6.1 – RB Tre Hartman, Auburn, 39/48
7.1 – WR Greg Vila, Penn State, 34/53

There you go!

The 2047 NFL Preseason

I hand out 14 deactives and massage my depth chart.

I start OC Macias as I may want to swap over from Lynch who is in his 8th year, and OG Coffey over Mota.

DE Wayne Conyers has boomed nastily into a 72/72 DE. Hopefully he’ll play like it! Bobo and Zaiser have dropped. I am starting rookies Miller and Cavoretto.

Week 2 – At the Jets – We lose 9-20

Week 3 – Chiefs – We win 10-6

Week 4 – Dolphins – We lose 13-20

Week 5 – At the Chargers – We lose 13-21

We finish 1-3

Rookie Lookie #3

1.1– WR Wesley Cleghorn, Arkansas, 51/76; 59/80; 60/78
2.1 – CB Sammy Miller, Georgia, 31/64; 37/68; 37/50
3.1 – CB Brett Cavoretto, Auburn, 26/60; 30/57; 29/47
4.1 – WLB Will Carney, Arkansas, 27/73; 32/69; 32/71
5.1 – OC Chandler Macias, Texas Tech, 37/70; 41/74; 45/76
6.1 – RB Tre Hartman, Auburn, 39/48; 40/52; 39/50
7.1 – WR Greg Vila, Penn State, 34/53; 37/55; 40/60

Man that is so irritating what happened to Miller and Cavoretto! Sigh… I wish I had signed that expensive CB now. Ah well. I thought this was such a good draft too! WR Vila was a good thing, and Macias grew better so it’s not all bad.

UFAs

QB Denzel Cheatwood,7/43; 11/42, 12/38
DE Benjamin Hecht, 26/52; 29/50, 28/45
SLB Jaylen Heredia, 17/45; 20/42; 19/34
Cb Ralph George, 17/51; 19/40; 18/30

Man

I cut these 7 players to get from 60 to 53

QB Cheatwood
TE Lemmon – He dropped to 35/35
WR Bruce Wolfe
DE Benjamin Hecht
DT Jonah Connell
SS Bobby Grasmanis

Oc Al Lynch – Good luck my friend!

That brings us to 53!

Wanna see the top rookie?

Due to some busts this draft may be all about Cleghorn but he’s a solid guy, as you can see! His only weakness is adjustments to that ball. My hope is that Cleghorn is out Barber/Lim/Wilcox of my team that unlocks the next level.

Now let’s dig in deeper than 2 for my next rookie. How about round 4?

This is SILB Will Carney, a solid SILB who is good at many things not named pass rush style. I have named him my starting SILB in 3-4 roles and my MLB when we start three LBs. Welcome to the team Carney!

On the Green Page I have Cleghorn only.

Rookie Investigation

At WR Cleghorn is #1. After booming to 60 pot, Vila is 4th best.

RB Hartman is 7th best

C Macias is the best in the draft

At LB Carney is the 3rd best at any position.

After busting Miller is the 9th best CB and Cavoretto is the 11th best

The 2047 NFL Regular Season

I don’t think this year is the year that everything finally comes together like year 3 of other ones. We are too green, and have too many busts or not-stars. I’ll skip losses again this season for those reasons…

Week 1 – Panthers – Well at least we are at home against the nasty Panthers! We beat them here last year and knocked them out of the playoffs. My guess is they won’t be that accommodating this time around! We lose 10-26.

Week 2 -Jaguars – We win 33-12! MVP is Abrams with 29 of 37, 279 and 2:0 hitting for scores Cleghorn 10 times for 104 yards and both scores. Pick by Davidson, of course, and a pick six by WLB Hopkins. FF By Carpenter, Conyers and Nemecheck.

Week 3 – Seahawks – We win 37-21. Well maybe this will be the year we are back! MVP is Abrams who was 17 of 25, 250 and 3:0. Schultz was 5 for 100 and 1 score. Scores by Brandenfeis and Brandenfeis. Picks by Davidson, Carney and Galenaw. Rookie SILB Carneys was returned for a score. FF by DT Newman. 2.5 sacks by Conyers.

Week 4 – At the Falcons – We lose 16-24

We are 2-2 at the quarter.

Week 5 – At the Vikings – We lose 13-30

Week 6 – Saints – We win 30-23! Abrams is 13 of 29, 188 and 1:0 hitting for a score Schultz. Brandenfeis with a 76 yard PR return that was the difference. 3 pasdef by Carpenter.

Week 7 – At the Lions – We lose 18-21

Week 8 – BYE

Week 9 – Packers – 6-1! But we are at home. We fail to give them their 2nd loss os the seaon and lose 13-20

We are 3-5

Stats

Offense

Passing

QB Adams – 325 for 535, 3383 yard,s 17:11, 81.1 rating

Better than last year and he is growing! But we need a lot more development from the lad!

Rushing

RB Lemoine – 252 for 811, 3.19 ypc, 3 rush score

Lemoine sucked in his first year without an injury

Receiving

Cleghorn was nasty! 197 targets? 118 snags? 1227 yards? 7 scores? He was 4th in yards. Brandenfeis was fine and TE Schultz really showed up despite his age.

Blocking

It was a down year for my blocking, and Coffey was with 31 KRB and did a good job with block % and just 3 sacks. Macias had a fine rookie campaign as well.

Special Teams

K Poston – 34 of 48, Long of 58, 25 of 25 PAT

He missed FOURTEEN FGs?

P Holdgate – 81 punts, 47.9 avg, 35 in 20.

Another good year!

Brandenfeis was with 1 KR RET TD and 1 PR RET TD. Good job!

Defense

Here is our defensive stuff. Carpenter leads my team in tackles and notched 4.0 sacks, 2nd among my LBs with WLB Hopkins notching 5.5. Conyers was better but not that much and Pinkney out rushed him with a team leading 8.5 sacks.

Pass Coverage

Davidson led my team in picks, of course. We had few picks and fewer pasdef. It was a big down year here which is really sad!

The 2048 NFL FA Period #1

We are drafting 1.5, 2.4, 3.3, 4.2, and 5.1

My team is starving for D backs so my hope is that I can peel off a stud CB or S in the draft at the 1.5 spot. I also interview RBs as this may be the only time we have a pick to take one and Lemoine has not impressed after he broke down to 63/63. I interview the top 5 CBs, the top 4 RBs, I interview a stud OT, 2 S. I hope to find my 1.5 among them! There are two stud Qbs on the board I hope are taken somewhere in 1.1 to 1.4 to reduce the number of options available to us.

Did you notice this? Our wins Year 1? 1. Our wins Year 2? 2. Our Wins Year 3? 4. It’s doubled each time. That means we’ll be 8-8 next year and 16-0 the following!

I sign my RFAs save for two I don’t wanna bring back. We have 3 UFAs – QB Van Pelt, CB Zaiser, OG Mota. I won’t chase any of them.

We have 48 on our roster and we have 102 available under our cap.

I have these key rookies coming up next year and what it would cost to extend them.

RB Lemoine – 42 mill, 3 years
OG Peterman – 51 mill, 4 years
OT Hymes – 34 mill, 3 years
DE Pinkney – 72 mill, 4 years

I also have these key players in their final year

WR Brandenfeis, 28 mill, 3 years
TE Schultz, 16 mill, 3 years
WR Woodard, 26 mill, 4 years
CB Bobo – 26 mill, 3 years
CB Gelenaw – 16 mill, 4 years

Others of note?

NT Alexis Drew, 11 mill, 3 years.

I extend my LS and P

I won’t resign Woodard as he’s dropped to 44/44. Ditto Bobo who has dropped to 50/50.

I am going to wait until after the draft for Hymes and Lemoine and Peterman and Schultz as it’s always possible I might draft a better option. I will hold onto post-camp for Brandenfeis as he may drop in cost after he drops in ability.

I do extend Pinkney – he’s my first draftee or UFA with a real deal! He has 99 pass rush tech, and 68 strength. He is all about those sacks!

Any players I wanna chase?

TE Carter Flynn was cut by the Panthers!

RB Marty Anderson is free as well, and Anderson is 68/68 and better than Lemoine…

WR Wilcox was cut

MLB Rick Butler was cut

If I were to sign all four I could make Butler my WILB, I could start Anderson, I could add Wilcox to my crew and start Flynn.

What do they want?

TE Flynn – 85 mill, 5 years – 5th year vet
MLB Butler – 19 mill, 4 years – 6th year vet
WR Wilcox – 25 mill, 2 years, 11th year vet
RB Anderson – 80 mil, 4 years, 7th year vet

I want Flynn first but he’s too pricey. I could bring him in now when I have cap space to spare and then cut him later in year 4 or 5.

MLB Butler is the worst position at WILB but he’s a 69/69 guy and bringing him in that cheaply? It would immediately give me four strong LBs. He’s cheap so I make him an offer of 20 mil to entice him to sign with me. He is the 4th best FA in the pool!

Wilcox is only 58/58 but that’s good enough to be 2nd on my team and this draft pool looks weak and I have the cash so I make him an offer. I add some cash to his offer as well.

TE Flynn ditto

Now Anderson?

He’s too expensive, he likely will drop in value soon, and I won’t chase him.

But I won’t extend Lemoine for now.

Week 2 – We sign Butler.

Week 3 – Wilcox signs

Week 4 – Anderson signs with Miami. From one dynasty to another!

Week 7 – Flynn signs with us

Week 8 – Mota signs with the Colts

Week 9 – Van Pelt signs with the Titans

I’ll see you at the draft!

The 2048 NFL Amateur Draft

Picking at the 1.1 spot are the Raiders.

1.1 – OT Jeffrey Haynes – I was hoping he was falling to us as he is a underrated stud that could have been my Tatum.
1.2 – DT Dashawn Kremers, Chargers
1.3 – OLB Derek Schultz, DC
1.4 – QB Trevor Brackens, Steelers

I’m surprised that just one stud QB went off the board.

Here is who is left

CB Zach Foreman, Hard to Read, 7.1 rating, top player on the board, amazing bars. Hard to Read is a gamble. I was taking Haynes over him if he was here, but now I have to figure out Foreman. Who else is here…

CB Edward Woods - Great Bars, Hard to Read, 2nd best DB and 3rd best player on the board.
RB Braxton Brennan, Overrated – top RB on the board
RB Joe Valentine, Underrated, bad bars, 2nd RB on the board

I take Foreman. Here he is! With those bars? He’s worth it!

2nd Round is here! How about SS Drew Kempthorne? DT Norman Cassidy? SS is more of a need. He looks like a grower.
3rd round - FB Silas Bensen? I go FB I like him. He hasn’t gone yet. He looks like a grower.

4th round – RB Paxton Patterson?
5th Round – OT Landon Horner looks to have fallen
6th Round- I do like WR Ricardo Compton.

7th pick? How about CB Jerry Gionfriddo? He also looks like a grower. Is this my CB Bryan Hutcheson seven round wonder? I hope so!

Rookie Lookie #1

1.5 – CB Zach Forman, Colombia, 50/85
2.4 – SS Drew Kempthorne, Georgia, 37/45
3.3 – FB Silas Bensen, West Virginia, 36/59
4.2 – RB Paxton Patterson, Virginia, 41/43
5.1 - OT Landon Horner, East Carolina, 29/45
6.5 – WR Ricardo Compton, Texas, 28/47
7.4 – CB Jerry Gionfriddo, Central Michigan, 21/44

There you are!

I make offers to

OG Axel Palmer

Week 1 – 1 signs

Week 2 – Another joins us

Week 3 – The rest sign

MLB Leo Adams, 24/69
DE Leslie Schneider, 33/59
Rb Eli Wodarz, 34/57

Rookie Lookie #2

1.5 – CB Zach Forman, Colombia, 50/85; 58/82
