Luck (HBO)
-9:02 PM: 0.474 million viewers, 0.14 A18-49
-11:02 PM: 0.223 million viewers, 0.07 A18-49

And the problem isn't the network, nor the limited reach. Game Change did nearly 5x the total viewers the night before, almost 4x the number of 18-49's.

It doesn't look like the guy who runs my annual NCAA pool is doing it this year. This pretty much sucks the excitement out of the tournament for me. This sucks. Hard.

"You sure? You want to marinate on that a little bit?"

Personally, I'd prefer folks use ruminate to mean to ponder and think over. I seem to hear marinate much more often though.

Sometimes my knowledge of the way that pro wrestling is booked ruins my enjoyment of sports movies. You know, "The Monster", the "Hero in Peril", stuff like that.

I'd argue that somebody telling me about their "CRAZY DREAM LAST NIGHT" is up there.

One of my friends used to always tell me about his dreams. Just an awful conversation.

The first thing our automated answering system does at work is offer you the option to hear business hours. The very. First. Thing.

Minimum 50% of the calls that make it through to me are people wanting to know what our business hours are.

Oh, and I'm just going to leave this here: Brown County is one of the more reliably Republican counties in Wisconsin. Make of that what you will.

Here's a PSA to help you avoid some unnecessary hassle and the killing of half a day:

Check the air in your spare tire, especially if you've had the car for years and never use the spare. Because when you need it, and it's out of air, it's a big ol' pile of worthless.

My front left tire started unraveling from the back - literally unraveling, as if you pulled a string on your shirt - and I realized it after hearing some noise in the wheel well as I was driving and inspecting the tire when I went to pick up my daughter from practice. Luckily, I got home without incident, but when we put the spare on and lowered the car, we realized the spare had no air pressure. So I had to take the spare off, drive it (with the wife's car) over to a gas station, fill it with air, then put it back on. If that had happened on a road, I'd have been screwed.

One more hour of The Price is Right, and, while it's not the same without Bob Barker, it still brings back childhood memories.

Then it's basketball heaven!!

In a nut shell, Maul didn't die. His hatred and dark side powers somehow kept him alive, is what I got out of the episode. I didn't see the previous episode, so I don't know how he was found. Though, when I see anything spider like in the Star Wars universe, I think of the B'omarr Monks.

My wife got past the myths about it. But after four years, past all that, she still didn't like how they felt like brillo pads ;-) She was pregnant with my second son, so I figured she deserved a break.

Forgetting who, but someone said recently that Twitter is making the sports journalist obsolete. So if you're willing to head more in that direction, go for it.

Although that's basically just updates or breaking stories. If you want actual articles/opinion pieces, a blog would work as well.

I think there will always be a market for a brilliant writer like Joe Posnanski or pop culture machine Bill Simmons or the artist formerly known as Rick Reilly- those who can write a credible and long feature story. But everyone on tv is just a pretty face and on the internet is either an ex-jock or generic sports journalist. I suspect that all except maybe the first set are low paid and extremely fungible.

The hardest part would probably be finding a way to get noticed in order to get a chance at a gig somewhere. There's not exactly a shortage of folks in the field and the hip thing to do is convert an existing blogger to a staff position.

If you wanted to pursue it, I'd say that's probably the best course (blog incessantly) and/or find something with an extremely small outlet & try to go from there.

Yeah, now that everybody in the world can create and publish content, it's not a great time to try to make your career out of creating content. If you enjoy doing it, do it as a sideline. You have a better chance of enjoying it that way anyway.

I've been wondering if 34 was too old to try and become pretty much anything with little or no experience. I have a degree in Comp Sci, but I've grown to loathe computers and, most days, computer programming. And the only real work experience I have is working for my parents (fire safety type stuff) since college, and working in the computer lab in college.

I just don't know what it is I want to try and become.

I have to hope it's not too late. I'm 37 and I'm just starting on getting a degree and pursuing a new career. By the time I finish it (taking classes half time while I continue to work full time and parent) I'll be in my 40s, and probably still need more schooling. There are advantages to being this age though, and you just have to harness those.

Going back to college was something I had thought about. I'd be about 36-37 if I got another Bachelor's degree if I went back and got enough of my credits from my first time through college to count.

I went back to college at 34. Total nightmare. Wish I would have did it all when I was younger.

That seems to be a big killer in the job market right now. Everyone wants 3~5 years of experience in X, Y, or Z but with no entry level positions open. A lot of the entry level work has been shipped overseas and those that haven't barely pay a living wage

No, that's true- you're never too old to go back to school. But I did it when younger- left school for a couple of years- and it took me more than a year to get back up to speed. That's a big monetary and life change, tho.

Wish I'd seen that Melo was out for Syracuse before submitting my bracket. I realize it was my own fault for not paying attention, but work's been a bit nuts. :\
