The wife wants to watch "Wedding Crashers" on pay-per-view at 8:30 so I'll be a little late coming back for the deadline. Hope it is funny, because I would have been perfectly content to get popcorn and watch this drama go down to the end.

Deadline remains 10PM CST - good luck to all involved. As of post #1798 I show the votes at:

RPI (5) - Lathum (1746), Grammaticus (1755), Mr. Wednesday (1756), Schmidty (1758), Kingfc (1760)
Mr. Wednesday (4) - TazFTW (1761), RPI-Fan (1762), Eaglesfan (1783), Mustang (1789)

With no votes at this time from: Coder, Qwikshot

Not really. I didn't recognize the reference.

But if he starts singing "I want you extra time and your *smooch, smooch, smooch, smooch, smooch* kiss" I'm going to be very afraid.

Darn. My memory has been terrible today

This is the 3rd time I've been wrong about the artist of an old song today. I remember listening to the remix quite a lot as well as I was in college.

Are you now? You keep trying to accuse me of being a ninja.

The night explodes with the sound of steel as a battle appears to have erupted in the common area between your living spaces! There is a flash of light and a scream. The men burst out of their homes to find Blade lying in a pool of blood, badly wounded but still alive with Qwikshot standing over him. Qwikshot's manner does not appear to be threatening at this time.

Further inspection shows a shiruken in the door of Kingfc's home, burnt grass near Blade, and a bloody thin metal wire that was in Blade's neck moments earlier. It is clear that he was slashed by a blade across his face. It is also morbidly clear that he is unlikely to have the use of his eyesight again, as his injuries are massive and brutal, but not deadly.

Where in hoopsguy post does it say I was present? All I can make out of this post is that Blade was attacked outside my room. Like I said before, I was in my room and all I heard was men fighting outside. Not sure how that makes me a suspect.

Thought I'd do what Taz does best and just vote without a reason, since it seems to work. I felt Taz was the best suspect, but nobody was voting for him so I decided to change to another person who I think may be a ninja. Now that Coder has come out with information suggesting that Mr. W is indeed a ninja I have cast the "lynch" vote for him.

Now ask yourself this: Would a ninja sacrifice another ninja this late in the game after a conversion attempt failed?

I'll be a bit more specific, since i don't want to mess things up incredibly and since I might very well be attacked and obliterated once the next nighttime happen.

Now, the Hidari line is a long and honorable line of samurai. We have fought with the shoguns against rebellious forces for hundreds of years. We do not betray neither the emperor, the rising sun, nor our shogun.

Last night, I was viciously and cowardly confronted by a nefarious creature of the night. Some call them ninja, I call them scum of the earth, rats of the cheese and people from Uzbekistan. The man, all dressed in black, spoke to me. He offered riches above and beyond what I could ever dream of, all I had to do was to join the treacherous ninja clan of the mountains.

Like I said.. I come from a clan of tradition.. a clan of pride.. a clan of samurai who go back all the way to the first blades ever created in Nippon. I do not fall so easily for treasures of the dark side.

I humiliated him. I kicked him in the chest in my best imitation of Chuck Norris. I told him how his mother was a hamster and how his father smelled of elderberry.. I taunted him a second time (would you believe it!!?!?)...

I tore off his mask..

Alas

He managed to turn away and run..

HOWEVER

I would recognize that voice anywhere.. the voice who ran away like a squirrel on groundhog day, screaming "oh please Hidari-sama, I swear on my mother's cage, I will never harass you again".

Not once have I said that anyone is innocent of being a ninja. All I've said is that RPI-fan was not the one to attack me last night.

kingfc22 is in a tough position, as a ninja, now.

He knows that he can try to bail out Mr. W with a smidgen of an excuse and save a ninja for one day (and get a samurai at the same time), or leave his vote and claim he's now to be trusted.

Don't buy into his claims of casting a vote for a known ninja tomorrow...

First off, you were present on Night 2 when Blade was wounded. Moreover, you got defensive when, as a typo, I mentioned this scenario as Night 1 rather than Night 2.

Your comments as the vote deadline approached yesterday and today are just plain old awkward.

I've given a list of reasons why I think you're a ninja. Who would you accuse if you were in my position?

Didn't know I was being defensive. I quoted a note from your post that was bolded saying I was present when Blade was attacked. I did not even mention anything about what night it happened because that doesn't matter. What does matter is that you keep insisting that I was present so I reposted hoops' post from that night to show that it does not say anything about me being there. All it says is that it took place outside my house which makes sense since Blade admitted that he was protecting me.

The above voting records are unfortunately a bit incomplete.. I did most of day 4 at the office today and obviously forgot to mail them back home when I was done.

However, they give some indication of how some of the suspects have voted.

I'm certainly glad it was the latter, but I can see where the initial confusion came from.

To cap my mysterious explanation off..

When the ninja ran away, I still hadn't seen his face.. However, judging by the voice and the build of the coward, I knew it had to be one of the following: Mr Wednesday or Mustang.

Both could be a ninja.. but at least one is.

I'll vote for Mr Wednesday today.. because that's the one that's currently in any position to get lynched.

Vote Mr Wednesday

As we're approaching the deadline, I'd like to have some things cleared out..

1) I don't KNOW who attacked me.. it's either Wednesday or Mustang
2) I don't KNOW if both of them aren't ninjas, but I know at least one of them is
3) I don't KNOW RPI isn't a ninja.. I just KNOW he wasn't the one who attacked me

TazFTW is still high on my list.

Right now I still have Taz as #1. His first 4 votes were all for known villagers.

Mustang has been rather erratic so far with his voting and is a close #2.

Schmidty, Gramm and Lathum would be in the next group.

Then you, Eagles and Qwik

Coder being the only one who I COMPLETELY trust.

Coder being the only one who I COMPLETELY trust.

I think I agree with you largely. TazTFW is someone to watch out for. I'm anxious to see the results of today's lynching.

Tonight it didn't seem necessary with Coder's revelation already posted when I got home, but this weekend, I'm going to review the entire thread and analyze all of the people left and make a post with my list of suspects and why I have them ranked as I do.

Hopefully, I don't get killed before I do this, but I suspect that the Ninjas will have at least one person they would rather kill.

Lets put it this way.. in case we happen to lynch a samurai (which might be the case, but since Mustang doesn't have any votes, Wednesday was my choice), and I get whacked.. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF NOT VOTING FOR MUSTANG NEXT TIME.

Dola (or maybe not) -

I now realize I slightly misconstrued where Coder was going with his revelation, but at least if Mr. Wednesday isn't a ninja, we definitely know that Mustang is tomorrow. Hopefully, we get lucky and Mr. Wednesday is a ninja. Of course, I understand Coder has made it clear that both Mr. W and Mustang could be ninjas, and that he is not clearing RPI-Fan.

I'm just hoping that if Wednesday is not a ninja, that we don't lose the game based on this.. however, I really don't think I had any other choice.

Chuck Norris makes his way down the slopes today, but he is not alone. Some of you recognize the man in flowing robes with him - it is the legendary samurai, Neon Chaos! He had dropped off the face of the earth several years ago, never to be heard from again before today.

"Many of you may be familiar with my student, Neon Chaos. I have granted him the honor of this execution. Mr. Wednesday, are you prepared to die?"

Wednesday does not appear ready to die at all. The man is in fact coming apart before your very eyes. He pivots away from the group and begins to flee! This is a first ...

Neon closes the distance quickly, bounding after him with impossible leaps of at least 20 feet at a time. He gently lands in front of Mr. Wednesday, who seems to have anticipated this. He blows a strange powder from his fist directly into the face of Neon Chaos, who is obviously disoriented by this trickery. Wednesday then unveils nunchucks and brings them crashing in on Neon. Could Mr. Wednesday be ready to pull off a stunning upset? Neon Chaos was a great samurai even before training with Chuck Norris!

No chance. Even without the full use of his sight, Neon catches Mr. Wednesday's arm as he swings and follows it up with a mighty chop across his upper torso. Wednesday is sent flying through the air, crashing through a wooden fence. He rises gingerly, but realizes that his only option to survive is to go through Neon Chaos. The men exchange a long stare and converge once more.

The close combat is brief, intense, but ultimately futile for the ninja. He sustains a series of kicks to his side, which leave him staggered on his feet.

"Sweep the leg!" Chuck Norris demands!

Neon Chaos looks up. "But master, I .... ah, never mind." He then proceeds to deliver a low kick to the side of Wednesdays left knee, collapsing it with a sickening crack. Neon pulls out a sack of gold coins and stuffs them in the mouth of the defeated ninja. And keeps stuffing more and more coins into him, forcing them down his throat and ultimately taking his life in a show of over-the-top irony.

Neon Chaos bows to the group and returns to Chuck's side. The living legend of kung fu turns to you once more. "This is a great victory for the samurai today. But know that this war is not yet won. I cannot reward you until all ninja have been eradicated from this camp."

Votes:
Mr. Wednesday (6) - TazFTW (1761), RPI-Fan (1762), Eaglesfan (1783), Mustang (1789), Kingfc (1807), Coder (1833)
RPI (4) - Lathum (1746), Grammaticus (1755), Mr. Wednesday (1756), Schmidty (1758)
Not voting - Qwikshot

Night 5 is underway. Since we are looking at an extended weekend, I'm planning to have the deadline for night actions at the start of the Super Bowl on Sunday. But I'm hoping to process them much sooner than that, if everyone is able to send their PMs before that time. Day 6 will be ending on Monday at 10PM CST.

Yes! We got a Ninja. Great job, Coder. Neon, that was an awesome way to kill someone

Woot!

Just want to get my thoughts in before I go to bed, in case something happens tonight:

Shortlist (roughly in order):

kingfc22 (I believe TazTFW is clear based on king's post above)
Schmidty (has acted like an asshole to me all game long in addition to doing nothing to dissociate imself from the ninjas)

The main point I want to make is that I feel king is a ninja based on his odd language used near voting deadlines, and his willingness to respond to my call out without getting defensive. I also feel the list he provided above gives a good indication of ninjas. TazTFW is probably clear because king was adament about him, while one or more of Schmidty, Gramm, and Lathum is probably bad. I have no idea who.

I'm suspicious most on that list of Schmidty, who was around near the deadline (don't now if it was officially before it or not, but he was in the vicinity of the deadline), and didn't switch his vote.
