But in all seriousness I could go for a good football game that costs $20, especially if there is a good franchise mode to it. Is there a NFL mod for it?

Someone did create an NFL mod for it (as well as college). You can see mods here: http://axisgames.proboards.com/

After playing the game for a few minutes, it is not ready for prime-time; however, I see lots of potential here. Their uniform editor is the best I have ever seen.

Game play is buggy, and missing crucial features from a realism standpoint. The devs seem committed to fixing things, so that's good.

Crucial things missing:
1. Accelerated Clock (Can only do 5,10, or 15 min quarters)
2. Penalties
3. Injuries (Not sure)
4. League Structure (divisions, conferences)
5. Free Agency

Not me...until they introduce realistic NFL approach, can't see me diving in...if I am not mistaken they use some sort of soccer regulation system.

I have to say I am very impressed. The game play has appeared to have improved. Now all they need to do is add a play creator and the game will have achieved something that no modern football game seems to be able to pull off.
