Sorry it took so long to get my game in this week. I swear, I think I may have officially hit middle age - my team stinks, my hand/eye coordination stinks. This is really getting embarrassing.

This evening the Duke Blue Devils traveled to Virginia to face off against the #15 Virginia Tech Hokies. It was a cold, rainy, dreary day filled with dropped passes and fumbles. The Hokies took a strong 21-7 lead and looked to run away with the game. The Blue Devils made the score 21-10 with less than two minutes left in the first half, but the Hokies marched right back and kicked a field goal of their own as time expired to make the score 24-10.

The second half got underway with a solid drive by the Blue Devils, capped by a 1 yard TD run by the starting FB Kuruwune. Four minutes and one second later, the play of the game happened as the Hokies HB fumbled the ball away, which was scooped by up LB Banks of the Blue Devils and run back 39 yards for a TD. That made the score 24-24, eliminating the Hokies lead as the fourth quarter began. One play into the fourth quarter however, the Hokies QB threw his first pick of the game at the 15 yard line. Three straight dropped passes later and the Blue Devils were kicking a go ahead field goal, putting them up 27-24. The Hokies would answer back, driving down the field in over the next three minutes before stalling at the 25. The Hokie kicker nailed a long, wobbly 43 yard field goal in terrible conditions to knot the game up yet again, 27-27, with just 3:35 left.

I don't know what the Blue Devils wideouts were smoking on the last drive, but they need to starting ordering that shit in bulk. They made some absolutely incredible clutch catches on what seemed to be every third down. 3:32 later with just three second left on the clock, the Blue Devils kicker Snyderwine split the uprights on a 35 yard field goal to give Duke the big upset win in Blacksburg. Woohoo! I uploaded four or five vids for your viewing pleasure

The #5 ranked Rambling Wreck headed to Death Valley for the latest installment of this storied rivalry. It didn't take the Tigers long to get their fans fired up as HB Ellington was the focal point of a long drive and he ended it with a brilliant 43-yard scamper to paydirt.

On the ensuing kickoff the Tigers thought they had their 2nd score of the game when they forced a fumble, picked it up and crossed the goal line yet again. But after a review initiated by Georgia Tech's head coach the call was reversed and the Yellow Jackets were very relieved. Unfortunately they couldn't put anything together on offense and before the end of the first they found themselves down by 10 after Clemson added a FG.

The 2nd quarter would be a better one for GT as they managed to put a couple of big plays together including a long reception by WR Hill and an electric 45-yard sprint by Nesbitt that would put the Yellow Jackets on the board. But the 3-point deficit wouldn't last long as the Tigers were able to capitalize on a blown coverage and hit a wide open receiver in the endzone to put their lead back to 10 heading into halftime.

The Yellow Jackets made some adjustments on defense and were finally able to put the clamps down on Ellington. Then, Nesbitt ran it in from 27 yards out for his 2nd TD run of the day after a long drive that included contributions from both RBs, Jones and Peeples. So heading into the fourth quarter the Tigers were on top by 3.

Georgia Tech continued to play solid defense and even managed to string together a pretty solid drive but a fumble by Jones all but sealed their fate with just over 3 minutes to go. Ellington scored his 2nd TD of the day and made it a two score game with only a few minutes left. While the Yellow Jackets were able to move the ball down the field they just ran out of time.

The Tigers win at home, 24-14, but in the waning moments of the game when the Tigers should've been kneeling down Ellington ripped off a very long run and that set off the Georgia Tech sideline. You can bet that the next time they meet there will be some form of retribution.

Boy, that was a tough one. Fumbles, fumbles, fumbles...too many fumbles. One of them was my fault as I was trying to get a throw off before getting run over by 3 guys but the other 3 happened when I had both hands on covering the ball so I guess I just have to chalk those up to bad luck as I did everything I could do. We had a tough time running the option on these guys, for the most part, as they were able to beat blocks or else they were fast enough to catch Nesbitt from behind.

We couldn't get enough pressure on their QB and when they went to the hurry up our LBs seemed to always be out of position leaving the middle of the field wide open for an easy first down via the run or pass...annoying!! I need to learn how to use all the shifts and other pre-snap stuff much better...especially on defense.

And the fumble on the kickoff was so obvious that it was after my guy was down that I couldn't believe they weren't going to review themselves. Good thing I remember seeing the "Challenge" option at one time or another...sheesh.

Bummer on the loss Johnny. Sometimes it just seems like no matter what you do, the other team is a step ahead. It's especially hard to defend a no-huddle offense in their own house, at least that's my experience.

Craig, I think DT is away until Tuesday.

Took out EMU last night. Not a huge story here as i think they had 100 total yards of offense. We played legit boring vanilla defense on 1st down and after we got the lead put 9 guys in coverage and Gillete(their qb) struggled mightily.

We did have an efficient game on offense. We were running the team with our 3rd stringer as Johnny knocked out our 1st stringer and number two got hurt about 10 plays in. Burd our quickest and best wide out had almost 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Payne hammered on the defense for 100 yards. It was comical as he was bigger then their linebackers and as he got hit he just kept on falling forward for 4 or 5 extra yards.

5 wins and next up Miami, Duke, and then i think Maryland so this is the text we need to complete.

O yeah had 6 or so recruits in this week so the 34 to 7 score should help us get a few softies to jump on our bandwagon.

Yeah lol got a good one on a punt return and a beautiful strip by the EMU corner. It was cool he held up my running back and and did the old strip drill play where he holds the guy up and rakes the ball clean. I stopped and watched a few replays lol

Hmmm...weird. I'm guessing I'm not the only one as it seems most of our league's recaps only consist of 4 videos but that's just an assumption.

Oh well.

If you guys were able to get in your game today/this evening, that would be fabulous. I just found out I'm going to be out of town from Thursday morning thru Friday evening. If I see that everyone has gotten their recruiting/games in by tonight, I'll advance us. Otherwise, we won't be advancing until Friday night, a full 24 hours late.

Hmm - really not sure - her party starts at 7pm. I'll have to see how it goes - how long do these games usually last against another player? Never played online before (at least this iteration of NCAA).

Just tried again - didn't get any invite from you, but I'm at the waiting for opponent screen again. ??

I noticed it listed you as online now, but I still haven't received an invite, so I'm at the "waiting for opponent" after inviting you...

send the invite again - just saw a msg pop up on my screen saying you invited, but I was in my "waiting for opponent", so it wouldn't let me accept.

I don't see you listed as online anymore - just have the "1" next to the little orange person icon.

Sounds like the same firewall issues I was having.

Goto the network settings on the PS3 and run the "test connection". If the NAT Type is 3 it isn't going to work...you need it to be type 1 or 2. Type 1 essentially means directly attaced to the cable modem. Type 2 means it has a router in between but with the appropriate ports being forwarded to the your PS3.
