IWS #251 Results
This one ended up being a close race with no perfect entries, so I met one of the two goals I set myself with this batch of questions. I had hoped to see a better spread of answers on some of the questions, but I vastly overrated how terrible Stupid thinks the Browns are. And I definitely gave Stupid too many number questions.
We had 12 total contestants this time around, here's how the questions turned out: 1. Is Philip Rivers a Hall of Famer? No - 8 Yes - 4 I anticipated a close result here, then the first 6 or so submissions were all no. It started to level out, but in the end Stupid is a small hall kind of guy. 2. If, way back in the year 2000, the Browns somehow knew what we know now and selected Tom Brady #1 overall, how many Super Bowls would he have won in his career? Zero Super Bowls - 9 Two Super Bowls - 1 Three Super Bowls - 1 Five Super Bowls - 1 I was pretty proud of this question, and yet it turned into an eliminator. It appears that not even the best Quarterback the league has ever seen can overcome the sucktitutde that surrounds the Browns. 3. Which team does Matt Stafford suit up for in 2021? Indianapolis Colts - 5 New England Patriots - 2 San Francisco 49ers - 2 Los Angeles Rams - 2 Detroit Lions - 1 Both Rams votes came in after the trade was announced; I absolutely did not expect the situation to resolve itself during the contest, and I wonder where those votes would have gone had the trade not come together so quickly. 4. If you were ranking All-Time Quarterbacks, where does Drew Brees fall? 10th - 9 5th - 2 6th - 1 Stupid loves his round numbers. Curious where people would rate him actually, as opposed to for this contest. 5. Of all currently active Quarterbacks, where does DeShaun Watson rank? 5th - 8 10th - 2 3rd - 1 4th - 1 Again with the round numbers. Probably should have thought of that while crafting these two questions. 6. Of all currently retired Quarterbacks, who is the best of all time? Peyton Manning - 7 Joe Montana - 4 Brett Favre - 1 I don't know if it's silly of me, but I'm kind of surprised there were no Marino votes. --- The results: Akili Smith Sublime 2 - 64 Heath Shuler MIJB#19 - 512 Pyser - 4,032 Philip Rivers Glengoyne - 12,960 Toddzilla - 20,160 britrock88 - 22,680 Drew Brees claphamsa - 25,920 Joe Montana jbergey22 - 36,288 Butter - 36,288 albionmoonlight - 36,288 Peyton Manning bhlloy - 72,576 And your IWS #251 Champion: Tom Brady QuikSand - 103,680 Congrats Quik! |

Nice work Vince! Congrats QuikSand.
I originally had "No" to Phillip Rivers HOF but after looking as his career rankings and being in the top 5 in so many categories I feel there is just no way hes not a HOF'er. With that said, does he deserve it??? Its a different game over the past 20 years. Last edited by jbergey22 : 02-02-2021 at 08:49 AM. |

I personally think that Rivers is not a HOF guy.
But the poll on here had most people voting yes, so I went with that here. I hate when I outsmart myself trying to be stupid enough. |

It was tempting to send a "Vince, I want the Rams, I want the Rams!", but my entry was already in and that would have felt like trying to cheat.
Like albionmoonlight, I went with the poll overhere on Rivers. Also went with the round number of 5 Super Bowls, I figured that the Buccaneers' run this season would sway this into a "yes" more than a "no". 49ers, then twice 5th for round numbers and rounded out with Montana, then quickly after thinking Peyton Manning was the right answer. So it goes: from 2nd from the top to 2nd from the bottom.

Ironically, the late entry and going with the Rams cost me the win here. If I was smarter I'd have probably figured out how long the poll had been active for and gone with the Colts instead.

Figured the stupid answer was for Stafford to just stay where he is. That was the only one I missed, dammit.
