The 2086 NFL Amateur Draft

Picking first is… Cleveland and I think they’ll go with studly RB Steven Hall and they go…they trade the pick to Arizona who grabs WR Sherman Mugford. Hall heads 1.3 to Chicago

Our pick arrive at 1.31. Who do I like?

Three overrated or very overrated Ss that aren’t good with the bars anywhere

DE Dale Sterling – The BAP , solid bars but not amazing
DE Donovan Edmond – the third best DE on the board but slightly better bars that Sterling

WHOA!

There is a stud player who fell – SLB Malik Montgomery. I didn’t interview any LBs as my team feels good but if you want to move on from 10th year veteran Hampton this guy is amazing

Here you wanna see Montgomery?

SLB isn’t yet a position of need but do you turn down a guy that looks this good?

Do I go for my Hampton replacement now when the guy just finished with an All Pro?

The 2086 NFL Preseason

We are charting a new Moya Sea that begins this preseason. I start Montgomery at SLB and Ahmed at nickelback.

I cut Cody Martin after he dropped to 43/43 before deactivating him and dropping him more.

Week 2 – Indy – We lose 19-6

Week 3 – At Cincy – We lose 28-31

Week 4 – Jax – Super Bowl – We lose 14-11

Week 5 – At Baltimore – We win 23-3

We finish 1-3…not a good sign for Moya’s first season

Lincoln dropped to 48/48 and I start Flanders who dropped to 49/49, nevermind I hand It back to Lincoln.

Two years?

DE Slye? Nope I hold off because his pass rush isn’t the best I’ve seen.

Top Two Rookies?

Here’s Montgomery after the fall. Great at run stopping and good everywhere else. Very well rounded.

Here’s my 2nd overall pick CB Ahmed who is fine with the picks coverage, good at run D and hitting and he looks more like a SS but we’ll run him at CB. He is starting after his boom.

Where does Moya stand? At 57/67?

Here are the top QBs by pot ability

83
4 70s
69
68
68
67
67

So Moya is tied for 9th best in the league – not bad for a 4.32 pick!

The 2086 NFL Regular Season

I predict 10-6 in Moya’s first season as we are stacked with talent on D and my O Line and two great WR and a 3rd that looks pretty sexy. The only thing missing is a great RB. What will happen this year? The previous team was more and more and more about Curtis as the time went on as he did better and better. Moya hasn’t even started a game during the preseason or regular season for injury for my Curtis until now. Let’s find out!

Week 1 – Greenville – We win 24-10. Nice start! MVP? DE McGregor with 2.5 sacks. Lincoln and Moya rush scores, Moya was 30 of 42, 334 and 1:2 in his first start. We need to drop those pick numbers. Score by Flanagan, pick by rookie Ahmed in his first game for us at CB, we have FOUR FF on the day, but just one Rec by WLB Sherman

Week 2 – At Jacksonville – Uh oh. Super Bowl battle! On the road! We win 34-26! Moya, MVP, 27 of 35, 283 and 3:1, scores by Wilkerson and Cheshierx2, Lincoln a rush score, pick by Theurer, 2 FF by Conway and Yaussy, rec by Ahmed and rookie Montgomery. 4 KRB by Thornton.

Week 3 – At Atlanta – They haven’t moved to Boise yet. We win 28-26. Moya, MVP, 25 of 31, 256,
2:0, scores by Robinson for 8 for 124 and 2 scores, Lincoln is 25 for 105 and 2 scores, pick by Ogeary, FF by Yaussy rec by Harmon, 4 KRB by Witcher.

Week 4 – BYE BYE – I hate a early bye especially when I have just two probables.

Week 5 – At Seattle – We win 21-16. MVP is Lincoln who is 12 for 82, 1 score. Curtis is 26 of 45, 308 and 2:1, Robinson is 7 for 111 and Wilkerson is 6 for 101 and scores by Flanagan and Engelberger.

We are a surprising 4-0.

I doubt this lasts long.

Week 6 – Arizona – They are 5-0 and we have them here at home. We lose 17-23 in the battle of unbeatens. Lincoln a rush score, Moya was 22 of 38 foe 355 and 1:1, Wilkerson 7 for 162, Robinson 6 for 126, score by Flanagan. 2 sacks by McGregor

We came out of that game with EIGHT injuries. Nasty.

Week 7 – DC – They are 4-2 another winning team. We win 19-10. K Ramirez is MVP with 4/4 long of 55. Moya? 23 of 34, 224 and 0:1, Wilkerson is 9 for 110, rush score by Engelberger for the lone TD on the day

Week 8 – At NYG – We win 27-23. MVP? McGregor again with FOUR sacks baby. Moya is 19 of 31 for 205 and 0:1, pick by Ahmed, Lincoln rush score and Moya 2 rush scores,

Week 9 – At LAR – They are 5-1-1. Not an easy team on the road and…We lose 19-20. Lincoln was 20 for 160 and 1 score, Moya 20 of 32 for 207 and 0:0, Cheshier 7 for 101, picks by Harmon and Ogeary, 4 KRB by Stephenson.

Moya is probable

We are 6-2 with two losses to teams that had 1 loss between them at that time.

Week 10 – SF – 3-6 – We win 30-23. MVP? Moya 22 of 31, 199 and 3:0 scores by Flanagan and Chesiherx2, picks by Montgomery, Ahmed, and Harmon, 5 KRB by Thornton

Conway is doubtful with Turf Toe. I pull him for Arton.

Week 11 – At Greenville – 2-7 – We win 38-10. Our first typical score. Lincoln, MVP, 14 for 79 and 1 score; 5 for 76. Moya was 23 of 37, 339 and 3:3, 2 sores by Flanagan and 1 by Wilkerson, pick six by Ogeary, FF by Sherman and McGregor and rec by Montgomery,

OT Laurain is out for a month with a concussion. Vilma starts for him.

Week 12 – 7-3 Augusta – We lose 10-26. Moya 17 of 28,136 and 1:2, score by McCarthy, 4 KRb by Stephenson.

Week 13 – 4-7 Richmond – We win 20-12. MVP is TE Cheshier with 5 for 64 and 1 score. Moya is 19 of 32 for 244 and 2:2, score by Elsea, Ogeary a pick, FF by CB McIntyre,

We are 9-3 at the third quarter mark

Stats

Offense

Passing

QB Moya – 357 of 545, 4014, 25:16, 90.4 rating

Moya was 2nd in yards and 3rd in TDs, but 4th most in picks. He needs to drop that.

Rushing

RB Lincoln – 281 for 1101, 3.91 ypc, 13 scores

8th most yards, the most scores by 1. Not a bad year at all for the 10th year vet!

Receiving

Wilkerson and Robinson started out nicely but then faded as Moya did. Robinson barely crossed 1k at 1000 yards precisely. Moya had the yards for a great year at WR and they started well, but you saw what happened. Cheshier had 5 scores and Flanagan 6 for my 2 TEs grabbed me 11 scores. We need to get better yards from Cheshier as he’s capable of it and again, we had an up year in yards for him to do so.

Blocking

This was a very up and down year in blocking. If you were an interior OL at the OC or OG spot then you get a nice 30+ KRB but if you are at OT? Not even 20. We allowed a LOT of sacks this year, but that may be because Moya was in his first year so he took more sacks than normal.

Special Teams

K Ramirez – 29 of 34, Long of 56, 45 of 47 PAT

This wasn’t as good a year for Ramirez as you might have expected going into it.

P Polley – 87 for 48.8, 39 in 20

Ditto our P wasn’t used as much but he was still his studly self!

Sherman led my team with 19 special teams tackles

Defensive

SILB Goodwin led my team with a ton of tackles and rookie SLB Montgomery was 2nd with more than 100. Check out McGregor’s sacks total! He’s back on the All Pro bus with 16.5 and notched another double digit season! Great year buddy. He was 2nd in the league in sacks to a DE with 19. Just 6 sacks by DT Yaussy was okay and DE Slye just 5 sacks, not what you are looking for. I might be okay looking for a Slye replacement. Sherman was down for a WLB with just 4.5 sacks.

Pass Coverage

In his 3rd year in the league Ogeary continues to show his consistency at the S spot with a nice 6 picks and 7 pasdef. No double digits pasdef by anyone not named Goodwin shows a bad trend. Rookie Ahmed was with 4 picks and 5 pasdef, good stuff!

Off. Player of the Year – C Cris Stephenson – Led my team in KRB, tied for the lead in pancakes, and had a great year!

Def. Player of the Year – DE Henry McGregor – Notched his 3rd All Pro, led my team in pass rush stuff and was second in the league in sacks with 16.5. Good year buddy!

Sp. Teams Player of the Year – P Heath Polley – Just the very definition of consistent.

Rookie of the Year – SLB Malik Montgomery – Ahmed pushed him! But dude won Def. Rookie of the Year for the league so it’s hard to push in.

Heart Award – RB Harold Lincoln a 48/48 starter just did a lot of damage! Good stuff vet!

I review folks that are available at 1.24. I scout 4 OCs and 6 dbacks and other places like RB.

I sign my RFAs and…have 61 mill for new players.

What does Lincoln want?

8.6 mill for one year. I make him an offer.

Major Vets in the Last Year of their Deal

FB Engelberger – Wants 9 mill for 2 years, do it

WILB Hampton – Wants 45 mill for 2 years - I hold off until post draft

FS Conway – Dropped to 46/46. Just wants 24 mill over 3 years. I hold off.

C Stephenson – Wants 107 mill for 4 years. There are some nice OCs in the draft that might be available at 1.24 so I hold off until post-draft.

I extend my P and Elsea.

Rookies

DE Slye – wants 103 mill over 4 years. I hold off until post draft

I extend backup NT Field

Any two years left rookies?

I hold off on Yaussy and Sherman. Sherman has dropped a bit each year and is down to 65/65 and Yaussy could be replaced and he hasn’t sold me yet.

RB Flanders won’t resign he is angry at his lack of playing time.

I head to the FA

Week 5 – Lincoln signs with us

See you at the draft!

The 2087 NFL Amateur Draft

Picking first is…Greenville and there is a stud OT on the board named Wade Banks that I think they may be tempted by. And? They go WR Edward Huffman. Banks goes 1.3 to New Orleans.

1.24 arrives and….

No centers have gone. None are amazing studs but all four are good with the bars. They are coming back very overrated, very underrated, as scouted and hard to read respectively. The very underrated one is Ernest Hodges.

Any good RBs left?

4 have gone and 2 just went at 1.22 and 1.23. RB Sedrick Barlow is he best left and he was 5th best in the draft but he’s just a 5.6 guy. Barlow has no speed or power inside. Neither do the next few backs.

At DE anything good? The best one left is DE Sedrick Barlow who seems...okay.

Any studs out there at any position?

The best non-Cs on the board are two great SLB prospects who are Gabriel Kau and Sean Ducrot. Ducrot is the 2nd on the board but the best in talent.

At DB we have…

CB Dennis Banks – Hard to read
S Earnest Hinsley – Very overrated

No one sells me. C is least need but probably the best player. Here I’ll show you the 2nd C on the board.

Here’s Hodges. As you can see he’s well rounded, and looks like he could grow. Do I take him as the consolation prize or do I push elsewhere to a bigger position of need??

I extend Stephenson for 98 mill over 4 years

I do not extend Slye or Hampton

2 years left?

I do not extend Yaussy, or LT Bunyan

Rookies?

Here’s Kau. He was a big miss at 1.24. There was an MLB that finished 75 pot taken 2.11 and the top C finished with a 88 pot! Wow. The 3rd C finished 81 pot and 4th 78 pot. Wow Kau wasn’t the best choice there.

Here’s Cook and as you can see he’s a solid 2.24 pickup after growing in preseason. Like him!

The 2087 NFL Regular Season

I was surprised by how well we did last year with the records! But we need a better year from my D this year and my Off supporting cast. With Moya growing by 12 in ability from 57/67 last year to 69/69 and the heartbeat of this team I think we’ll go to 12-4 or 13-3 again but be better at it. We only had three big wins last year and they tended to have pix six or a fumble rec for a score to inflate the numbers. Without a great RB this needs to be Moya’s show. Hopefully the picks will drop

I have 8 injuries coming out of a rough preseason with two doubtfuls.

Week 1 – At DC – We thump them 31-0! Moya, MVP, 26 of 37, 327 and 3:0, rush score by Ellison I his first game, Robinson, Ellison and Cheshier with scores. FF by Yaussy rec by Ahmed, 2 sacks by DT Field, 6 KRB by Stephenson,

Week 2 – At Buffalo – We win 28-22. MVP? McGregor with 2.5 sacks. Elsea with TWO KR RET TDs. Moya 12 of 20 for 166 and 2:1 scores by Elsea and Cheshier, pick by rookie Kau,

Week 3 – Arizona – We crush them 37-3. Moya, MVP, 19 of 28, 220 and 2:0, scores by Wilkersonx2, Lincoln and Moya rushed for scores, We had EIGHT picks on the day. 3 by Theurer, 2 by Ogeary, 1 each by Velazquez, Montgomery and McIntyre. FF and rec by FS Cook. 5 KRB by Witcher.

Cheshier is out for a month. Flanagan starts.

Week 4 – Atlanta – We thump them 48-13. Nasty. Three signature wins. Moya? MVP 24 of 31, 244 and 1:0, Wilkerson 7 for 101, score by Flanagan, rush score by Moya and Ellison, pick six by Ogeary and Arton, fum rec score by McGregor, Ff bY Dunn, 3 pasdef by Montgomery,

4-0. We have big wins on the score board but TWO KR returns for scores and a bunch of defensive scores to prop up the score or win in Buffalo, these have not been big wins by Moya yet. As you can see

Week 5 – New Orleans – We win a close game 30-27. Moya, MVP, 19 of 34, 217 and 1:0, score by McCarthy, Ellison is 17 for 101 and 1 score – his first 100+ game, rush score by Lincoln, pick by Ogeary, FF by Laurain on offense.

Week 6 – At Carolina – Away game at last year’s 14-2 #1 seed Super Bowl Team. Uh oh. But they are just 2-3 and we are favored by 7. We lose 20-27. Moya 23 of 37, 323 and 2:0, Wilkerson was 7 for 110 and 1 score, Robinson 7 for 138, Flanagan the score, FF by DE Forster rec by Arton,

Week 7 – At 5-1 Tampa Bay – We lose 25-34. Moya 15 of 28, 138 and 2:0 pulled for Kleinsasser in the 3rd after picking up an injury. Scores by Wilkerson who is 10 for 147 and 1 score and Elsea. FF, rec, and ret for score by DT Field.

Cheshier is back. Moya is questionable but I’ll start him.

Week 8 – At 5-2 NYG – We win 23-13. MVP is Moya who is 27 of 35, 315 and 1:0, Wilkerson is 5 for 120 and 1 score, Ellison a rush score, pick by Velazquez,

We are 6-2 at the 2nd quarter mark.

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Moya – 315 of 474,66.6%, 3462 yards, 22:6, 98.1

At first these stats look bad but when you unpack their context they improve. How so? His 474 attempts was the fewest in the league among 16 game starters, and his % was best and rating 2nd best.

Rushing

RB Ellison – 299 for 1253 and 4.19 ypc and 11 score

Good year for the rookie! He was 5th in yards and 3rd in scores

Receiving

This was a down year for our corps as no one netted 1000+ yards. We miss Curtis. A lot. Ellison was 2nd in catches and 3rd in yards and netted a 100 yard game. Down years for everyone not named Engelberger.

Our O Line netted 2 All Pros and had a great year for Stephenson! Witcher was rocking those KRB and just allowed a single sack. Our sack numbers improved everywhere save for LT Bunyan. Great stuff line!

Special Teams

K Ramirez – 29 of 30, Long of 56, 48 of 49 PAT

Great year! Just one missed FG and PAT!

P Polley – 95 for 46.5, 31 in 20

A good year by another P but Polley’s worst year for us

Elsea – THREE KR RET TDs
Lincoln – ONE PR RET TD

Good year by our returning squad

Sherman – 24 special teams tackles

Defensive

This was a down year for my defense. Montgomery led my team in tackles with just 85 and netted just 5.5 sacks. Sherman was 2nd in tackles with 77 at the WLB spot and was bad with the 3.5 sacks. Rookie Kau was 1 sack and no pressure and just 40 tackles. Not great for a 1st rounder. For sacks at least McGregor netted double digits but this was a down year for him as well. Yaussy just 5.5 sacks although that’s not too bad from the NT spot and DE Dunn was with 3.5 sacks starting for me as a rookie.

Pass Coverage

Ogeary led my team in picks again and had an okay 5 pasdef although we need that to rise. Theurer was 2nd with 4 picks. Rookie FS Cook was 2 picks and 10 pasdef, and McIntyre 11 pasdef at the corner spot. We need to improve these.

Off. Player of the Year – C Cris Stephenson – The 6th year vet crossed 40 KRB for the first time and won his first All Pro in a position that’s hard to do so as just 2 get it each year. Good stuff Cris!

Def. Player of the Year – SS Branden Ogeary – Led my team with a solid 6 picks and had a pick six and 5 pasdef. Good stuff!

Special Teams Player of the Year – K Britt Ramirez – Just one missed PAT and FG? Dude earned it!

Rookie of the Year – RB Lorenzo Ellison – Dude wins Off. Rookie of the Year dude wins this award! Good job!

Heart Award – WR Mercury Elsea – Three KR RET TDs was awesome!

I have 127 mill free in cash to spend

I check out rookies.

I extend my K, P, and LS and my RFAs

Vets in Last Year of their Deal

TE Flanagan – Now dropped to 40/40. Will let go

FB Engelberger - Down to 64/64 , sign to 33 mil for 3 years

WR Wilkerson – 57/57 – 9th year vet, wants 89 mill for 3 years. I wait until post draft

OG Thornton – 70/70 – Wants 100 mill over 4 years. I hold off for post-draft as well

TE Cheshier - Down to 53/53. Wants 71 mill for 3 years. I hold off until post draft

RG Bryson Witcher – 71/71 Wants 61 mill for 3 years I do so

WR Elsea – Wants 24 mill for two years. No thanks

WR Robinson – 54/54 Wants 67 mill for three years. I’ll hold off

SILB Woodson – 68/68 – Wants 36 mill for 4 years. I do so

Rookies in Last Year of their Deal

LT Bunyan – 60/60 – Wants 142 mill for 5 years, I hold off

NT Yaussy – 72/72 – Wants 87 mill over 4 years, I do so

WLB Sherman 65/65 – Wants 166 mill over 5 years. I hold off that’s pricey

Players Two Years Left

SLB Montgomery – 78/78 – Wants 350 mill over 5 years. Wow. I hold off for now. I have the cap space, but that would be the most expensive contract on my team.

CB Ahmed – 59/59 – Wants 94 mill over 4 years. Not right now

How much does Slye want to resign? 115 mill over 4 years – reasonable.

How about Hampton? He wants 9.5 mill for one year

I will let them both go without making an offer

Week 2 – DE Forster heads to Miami

Week 3- Hampton heads to Carolina and Slye to Greenville

See you at the draft!!!

The 2088 NFL Amateur Draft

Ready?

Picking first is Anchorage and I think they’ll grab stud RB Austin Tucker. They grab OT Steve Watkins. Tucker lasts a long time – 1.8 to Seattle.

Our pick arrives at the 1.30 spot. Who do I like here?

DE Conrad Mansfield – As Scouted, 2nd player on the board. McGregor is 60/60 and in his 9th year. He’ll need replaced soon.
DE Matthew Reeves – Very Overrated – 5th player on the board
WLB Brock Hanks – Top player in the draft, no interviews for LBs as we are set, but my WLB hasn’t played super well. Is Hanks a better player than Sherman? He appears to be much better a the rushing of the passer.
SS Fred Ramsey – Very overrated
RB Byron Harper – Very overrated
CB Ivan Statler – Very underrated – I could use a better CB.

Who do you like here?

Here’s Statler. Very Underrated, great picks, very streaky,

Here’s DE Mansfield. He looks like he could be a good starter for us after McGregor keeps dropping.

And here is the top player in the draft

So…

What do you do?

The 2088 NFL Regular Season

We finished last season 12-4 in Moya’s 2nd year and with the big wins leaning into the Def returns and KR/PR returns. Moya underplayed his talent from several angles. I think we’ll drop to 11-5.

Week 1 – At NYG – We win 35-14 – MVP? Moya, MVP, 24 of 31, 284 and 2:0, scores by rookie WR Grohx2, Curry, in his first game, ready? Was 25 for 201 and 2 scores! Rush score by Ellison. Dude is still out there. 2 sacks by Sherman. 4 KRB by Witcher and Stephenson

Week 2 – Cincinnati – We win 33-10. MVp is Moya who is 25 of 36, 230 and 2:0, 2 scores to Robinson, Curry 27 for 100, Moya rush score, picks by Montgomery, McIntyre and Cook, 7 KRB bY Witcher,

Robinson is doubtful with turf toe

Week 3 – At Carolina – They won the Super Bowl two years ago and we lost on the road to them last year. We lose 20-26. Moya, rush score, 22 of 35, 255 and 1:2, score by Engelberger, 2.5 sacks by rookie Hanks

Week 4 – Richmond – We shut them out 38-0! MVP is Moya, 21 of 23 (pulled in 4th quarter) 230 and 3:0, scores to Cheshier and 2 to Wilkerson, Curry is 24 for 106 and 1 score. Pick by Cook, FF by Kau, rec by DE Dunn for a score, 4 KRB by Laurain.

We are 3-1 at the 1st quarter
