2013 - College Week 8

Week 8 Highlights

UCLA's great start to the season came to a halt as they were dominated, 38-7 by Washington. Rob Nielsen didn't have anything near a Heisman worthy game, 13-33 for 192 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 picks.

After a rather disappointing start to the season, Jace Hunter had a good game, 16-21 for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 44-17 win.

Great game for Craig Ingram as Stanford destroyed Arizona State, 52-13. Ingram was 14-26 for 276 yards and 4 touchdowns. For Arizona State Nick Thomas, the Sun Devils last line of defense, had 15 tackles, 5 for a loss.

Mike Ritschel has been enjoying his new found playing time with 4 tackles and a pick.

Ditto for us. Temple is 0-3 in the Big East so far. We've lost our conference games by a combined score of 103-10.

Of course, it's because I'm redshirted. If I'm on the field, it's a different matter.

2013 - College Week 9

Week 9 Highlights

Over in Madison, Izulde Jestor got his first two carries of the year. I'm fairly certain coach Bielema won't be getting a Christmas card from Izulde this year.

Tennessee destroyed Mississippi State, 66-0. That let Will Brown finally get some good playing. And he certainly made the most of it. 20 carries for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 31 yards.

Jace Hunter was great again, 17-26 for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns in 52-7 blowout win.

Florida State continues to roll. Dean Hoo was 1 for 1 on his field goals.

With injuries to four receivers ahead of him, Andrew Foley was able to show of his skills. He caught 6 passes for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. Dave Russ had a sack in the game for Texas A&M. The Aggies fell though, 31-28 to Kansas State.

Ouch - great to have a career game (was wondering why I was getting so many catches, heh) but sucks to lose a close one.

Just saw that I'm rated 14, with a potential of 58. How the heck did I end up at a Big Ten school like Iowa? No wonder I'm being redshirted. Hopefully I'll turn out to be an unexpected star. Doesn't look like my Hawkees can do any worse by playing me, since they've gotten smoked in their last 2 Big Ten games.

2013 - College Week 10

Week 10 Highlights

Rob Nielsen and the Bruins bounced back from their loss with a 38-18 win over Oregon. Nielsen was 16-29 for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns.

It looks like Craig Ingram was a little ticked off about the Rob Nielsen Heisman talk. Ingram is trying to prove he is the best quarterback in the Pac-10 and his 14-27, 278 yards, 4 touchdown performance did a lot of talking for him. Stanford beat USC 41-34.

Andrew Foley is making the most of his opportunity to play, 4 catches for 92 yards in a big Texas A&M win. His teammate Dave Russ picked up another sack.

Every year another FOFCer loses a redshirt late in the season due to injuries up the depth chart. This year Maury Ott is the one thrown into the lineup. He made the most of it with 4 tackles and a sack in Tulane's 41-14 win over Army.

Dan Ertmann
received his first playing time of the year and was 4-4 for 68 yards and a touchdown.

And what did Stanford do when they played a real team? ANSWER ME THAT.

Oh wait. The Golden Arm can answer. They lost. And Rob 'Just Give Me The Damn Trophy' Nielsen threw 4 TD passes.

2013 - College Week 11

Week 11 Highlights

UCLA keeps on rolling with a 55-14 win over Cal. Rob Nielsen was 22-40 for 303 yards, 4 touchdowns, but also 2 picks. David Gonzalez caught 4 passes for 61 yards.

Solid win for Notre Dame, 34-14 over BYU. Jace Hunter was steady as usual, 12-17 for 165 yards and a touchdown.

Moe Farley, one of the top freshmen last season, has been struggling in his sophomore year. He got back on track in a 41-38 win over Kansas. 26-32 for 392 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Stanford destroyed Oregon State 52-10 behind Craig Ingram's 16-19, 245, 3 touchdown performance.

Wow, what a game from Andrew Foley. How can the coaches possibly not keep him in there even when the other players return from injury. 10 catches for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Another solid 10 tackle game for Nick Thomas. But another loss for Arizona State.

Great game for Maury Ott. 3 tackles, 2 for a loss, and 2 sacks.

Man, they need to open up the aerial attack at Notre Dame. High percentage is nice, but when I'm averaging around 10 yards per attempt over 2+ seasons, it's time to increase the number of attempts per game.

Finally... Temple wins a damn Big East game.

Owls fans, get to the stadium this year if you want to watch a loser, because next year, when I'm on the field, BCS baby! HOO DAT?!?

2013 - College Week 12

Week 12 Highlights

We've been hearing rumblings from the UCLA faithful that Rob Nielsen should be a Heisman candidate. After this week's game against Arizona State, he could be a frontrunner. Nielsen went 23-34 for 372 yards and 7 touchdowns. UCLA beat Arizona State 49-17. Nick Thomas had 12 tackles for the Sun Devils.

Jace Hunter had a solid game despite two picks. He was 13-21 for 245 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 35-0 win.

Craig Ingram
had another good game, 12-18 for 232 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 52-10 win.

UCLA gets to 9-1 with a 30-10 win over Notre Dame. Rob Nielsen was 15-21 for 244 yards and a touchdown. On the other sideline, Jace Hunter was 15-28 for 210 yards and a touchdown.

Texas gets a solid 35-27 win over Texas Tech. Moe Farley was 20-32 for 343 yards and 3 touchdowns. But also 2 picks.

Dean Hoo was 2-2 on field goals, with a long of 45 as Florida State finished the season 11-0. Will they be left out of the title game?

Stanford scores 52 for the third straight game, fourth this season. Craig Ingram didn't need to play much as he went 5-8 for 101 yards.

Dave Russ picked up 5 tackles, 2 for loss, and 1.5 sacks in Texas A&M's 22-15 win over Oklahoma.

Maury Ott is making the most of his chance to play. 6 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Any team in the conference with the Golden Arm in it gets points in the BCS for simply being near such perfection.

Better not be the damn 6th WR next year with the damn year I've been having.

BTW - how the heck is Washington still #1 with two undefeated teams? I think "a lot of love", as RedHawk put it, is an understatement.

are we taking these players to FOF? If not, perhaps one of us can take the draft classes and do that portion?

My understanding is that he will be taking them to FOF, and any of us that might go undrafted will be allowed to start fresh with a new recruit.

Very quietly, Maryland recovers from a pasting from FSU and puts together a nice season. It likely had a lot to do with all the motivation the team got from me on the sidelines

UCLA ended the regular season with a solid 35-27 win over rival USC. Rob Nielsen went 18-34 for 295 yards and 2 touchdowns. David Gonzalez caught 2 passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Wow, horrible horrible game for Moe Farley as Texas was throttled, 38-6 by Texas A&M. Farley was 8-29 for 92 and 7, yes, 7 interceptions. Dave Russ sacked Farley 2.5 times. Andrew Foley caught 4 passes for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Seeing as rampant cheating is the only possible explanation for our loss to Washington, UCLA should OBVIOUSLY be ranked ahead of them.
