Post Season Placement

The Wisconsin Badgers were sadly the final team to miss the cut for the playoffs. 2 upsets in the conference championships gave auotmatic bids to teams we would have been in ahead of, thus costing us our shot at the title. I dont personally think we would have wont it, but we could have gotten a win or two before we fell.

Consequently, the badgers have been slotted into the Outback Bowl with #14 Ole Miss. The Rebels come in a dangerous team who are quite talented. I would not be suprised at all to see a very close game. Luckily, they are a run heavy team, which we remain #1 in the nation against.

Post Season

The Badgers took out the Ole Miss Rebels 38-17 to cap and 11-2 season. The score is a bit misleading, as the Badgers basically moved the ball at will and enjoyed total dominance.

The Badgers finished the year ranked #3 in the nation by both polls, on the back of the #1 defense in the nation and the #11 offense.

Despite this, the badgers decided to look in another direction at offensive coordinator and special team coordinator. Sean Hearn will return as D coordinator, and is considered the hottest prospect for a head coaching job in the nation.

Staff Update

The Wisconsin Badgers would like to announce a new coaching hire, as Floyd Cortez takes over the special teams. He has been very succesful the past 4 years at virginia, leading his units to yearly rankings of #5,5,7,7 respectively. We certainly hope he can help us out, and with his hiring we now have two coordinators who are considered among the elite for their position.

The search continues for a O-Coordinator, with an outstanding offer for Guy Allred, a UNLV grad who would be taking his first offensive coordinator position. He currently has 2 other offers, but considers ours the best still.

Staff Hire

OC Paul Miller was hired recently to take over our offense. A brilliant play caller who loves to open it up. He may be a short term hire, based on some poor development skills, he should still helm our hopefully stellar offense this season. We were top 10 in offense last year, and as of now all we lose is 1 OT.

Transfers

2 players have announced their intentions to exit the program. ILB Manuel Clemons and SS Eddie Nix will go elsewhere to continue their careers. Both were buried down the depth charts behind younger players, and no drop in production is expected. We wish them the best of luck wherever they may land.
