World's tallest waterslide being built in U.S........

Goodness. I can see a 300+ lb guy just flying right off the end of this Slip-n-Slide.

The World's Tallest Waterslide Better End In the World's Deepest Pool

I did one of those once at a park out in Palm Springs. You actually do lose contact with the slide (or it at least FEELS like it) at the very beginning. It's terrifying.

Never did it again.

There are going to be some massive weggies and bathing suit malfunctions on this one I think.

Apparently it's a "raft" ride where 4 people ride together...so no wedgies.

first that picture set off my vertigo.

Second...a four person raft going over that?
The only way I see that working is if there are seat belts.

They better have a lot of chlorine at the bottom pool for the number of people that'll piss themselves on the way down. Geez that's too terrifying to even try.

I guess its possible that what's in the photo is just a skeleton of what will eventually look more like a log flume kind of ride, where you're bolted down to something. On the other hand, that wouldn't be a "waterslide".

At least put a full tube on it. Good lord. This is like sticking your dick in a box of razors. Stupid and pointless. I go by a rule that says if the only reason to do it is to say you did it, then you probably shouldn't be doing it.

They actually picked the wrong side to face that camera if we're talking about views, though don't expect me to defend Kansas in any way (which is where this is located).

With that said, they'll actually have a fantastic view of the NASCAR racetrack, Hollywood Casino, and Sporting KC's stadium. The land just past the slide is all land that the waterpark owns and has tagged for future development (i.e. more rides).

Same (but substitute Palm Springs for Houston). I want no part of that. I'm sure the gravity keeps you in but that feeling is something that has stuck with me and I don't want it again.

It felt like I could easily jam my leg into the side to make you slow down just the wrong way and I'd go flying off the slide. Of course, I was too terrified to move a muscle- not a pleasant experience.

This sounds completely awesome to me! I may have to find a reason to be in Kansas at some point.

The scariest water slide I've been on so far is the Bomb Bay at Wet n Wild, where the floor opens up beneath you...

Yeah that happens, but that's true for any body slide.

FYI....they installed six bomb bay-style slides at Oceans of Fun here in KC last year.

+1

The drive to the water park is way more dangerous than this slide.

Done the slides at Atlantis in Nasaua, probably the tallest Ive been on...outside of some sketchy deal in Myrtle BEach where I swear the whole fiberglass slide was swaying

I'd rate the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, the American Jazz Museum, and the World War I Museum as a trio of good reasons to go to KC (and, BBQ, of course) but it's a nice weekend destination not a full week one.
