I thought Meredith Brooks vs Rythym of the Night was a pretty rough draw, and Break My Stride/Blue/Whoomp there it is are about a decade and a half of my musical life.

Chantilly Lace seems poised to be our first major upset. It is very under-seeded, and Seasons in the Sun is the weakest of the top ten seeds. A perfect storm for an upset.
Breeze, is this the equivalent of a 15 vs. a 2? |

Closed. Thoughts:
Jacks vs Bopper - after several close calls, we finally had a major "upset", though to be honest I expected Chantilly Lace to win this pairing. In fact, I was little surprised it was as close as it ended up being. Bonoff vs Morrison - Bonoff with a run at the end closed the gap, but she came up a bit short... Tag Team vs Dolce - I'm sure Tag Team has its fans, but ugh...what a terrible pair. Shocked Dolce got 3 votes...and I wonder if those 3 were people that just hated Whoomp more than they hated Shaddup? King Harvest vs Eiffel 65 - another surprise to me that Eiffel got 13 votes. The song has consistently been featured in "worst song" lists, so I expected a lower turn out. Basil vs Egan - the OHW staple wins easily... Ward vs Sister - like Bonoff above, Sister charged late, but came up short... Brooks vs Corona - maybe a little more lopsided voting spread than I expected, but only a little more.
