Our next game is at the 8-12 Celtics. Their offense is 72, defense 75, and overall 74. An even matchup for us.

SG Gerald Green 6'8 200

SF Paul Pierce 6'6 230

PF Al Jefferson 6'10 265

Iguodala gets in early foul trouble, leading me to putting Korver in early.

At the end of 1, we are up 21-16. We are playing very efficiently. Carney and McGrady are our main scorers.

The last 4 minutes of the half goes disastrously, and before I know it they are up 52-39.

Korver is getting abused by his man.

West is hurting McGrady too. He has 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting.

Green has 13 points on 5 of 6 shooting. Hopefully, Iguodala can come back in and contain him now.

Pierce has 13 points as well.

If we can just slow them down, we should be able to take control of the game again.

Sheesh. I'm making Green look like an all-star and I'm not hitting many shots. Down 75-58 at the end of 3.

Well, this ended up being a blowout. 98-81 Celtics win.

They shot 50% from the field. We shot 41%.

They were 4 of 15 from behind the arc. We were 2 of 15.

We were 15 of 20 from the FT line. They were 16 of 20 from the line.

We had 24 assists. They had 32.

We were outrebounded 50-34 (7-4 on the offensive boards.)

We each had 7 steals.

We had 3 blocks. They had 1.

We each had 10 fast break points.

We each had 22 bench points.

McGrady finished with 26 points, 4 boards, 4 assists. He shot 9 of 20.

Iguodala had 13 points on 4 of 10 shooting. He also had 4 assists.

Carney had 10 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 5 of 12.

Korver had 10 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists. He shot 4 of 17!

Webber had 6 points, 4 boards, and 3 assists on 3 of 8 shooting.

Dalembert had 4 points, 4 boards, and 1 block.

Pierce torched me for 32 points, 8 boards, and 5 assists. He shot 14 of 26.

Delonte West torched McGrady for 22 points, 9 assists. He shot 8 of 16.

Gerald Green added 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting,

Wally Szczerbiak added 13.

Al Jefferson had 18 boards against us.

Our simuilated game is on the road against the Mavericks in a brutal back to back with the 2nd game being against the Spurs.

Wow. We win 108-104 as McGrady goes off for 42 points against them. He shot 17 of 30 and 7 of 8 from the FT line. He also had 4 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks against the smaller Terry.

Terry had 20 points and 8 boards on 8 of 16 shooting against TMac. All are better than his season averages.

For us, Iguodala added 11 points, 9 boards, and 3 steals.

Carney was in foul trouble, but he had 5 points and 4 assists on 1 of 6 shooting in 30 minutes.

Webber had 19 points, 8 boards, and 6 assists on 9 of 15 shooting.

Louis Williams had 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assist in 17 minutes off the bench. He shot 3 of 6.

Despite playing 25 minutes, Korver only managed 2 points and 3 boards.

For the Mavericks, Dirk was their leading scorer with 26 on 12 of 23 shooting.

Howard added 19 points and 9 boards along with 3 blocks.

Stackhouse had 14 points for them.

Dampier had 15 boards but only 5 points.

Next up is the 2nd part of a back and back away game, this time against the Spurs. We're tired and they are much better. This could get ugly. Their offense: 77, defense: 96, overall: 92.

PG Tony Parker 6'2 180

SG Manu Ginobli 6'6 210

SF Bruce Bowen 6'7 200

PF Tim Duncan 6'11 260

C Matt Bonner 6'10 240

We can't really afford to double Duncan with their great outside shooters.

We are down 19-9 6 minutes into it, but McGrady manages to get past Parker and draw a second foul on Duncan who sits (Carney beat Bowen and drew the first foul.)

It doesn't help as they crush in the 1st quarter: 34-17.

Bonner even hit a 3 on us.

In just 3 minutes on the court trying to guard Parker, Williams picks up 3 fouls. I bring back McGrady from his rest.

Much better defense along with less hot shooting by the Spurs, allows us to catch up a bit: 58-45 at the half.

Ginobli has 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting.

Korver has 11 points on 4 of 5 shooting including 2 of 3 behind the arc.

Iguodala has 12 points by mostly drawing fouls. He was a key to our comeback. We are going to continue to have to get him to drive.

Parker draws a foul fouls on McGrady early in the 3rd and we have to sit him.

Some good defense and good plays by Louis Williams of all people gets us back to within 6. 75-69.

Bonner is killing us from outside when our C sags. I'd love to have a C with his range.

Odd, McGrady had one of his worst games due to foul trouble, but our offense had one of its most productive games. We pulled within 3, but we could never get closer. Manu was great down the stretch with both shots and FT's.

We lose 107-100.

They shot 57% against us! We shot 49% despite their great defense.

We were 4 of 11 behind the line. They were 6 of 10!

We were 18 of 23 from the FT line. They were 17 of 26.

We each had 31 assists.

We were outrebounded 37-35 (11-10 on the offensive boards)

We had 15 steals! They had 8.

We had 36 bench points to their 35.

We had 16 fast break points to their 11.

Manu was the player of the game with 30 points, 3 steals, and 4 boards.

Duncan added 14 points and 14 boards (3 offensive.) He also had 2 assists.

Parker had 14 points and 14 assists.

Bonner who played C for them had 15 points (mostly way outside jumpers.) He also had 5 boards and 2 assists.

Finley also added 15 points, 3 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

For us, Iguodala had 24 points to lead the team. He also had 6 assists and 2 steals. He shot 8 of 13 and 8 of 12 from the FT Line.

Carney added 21 points, 4 assists, and a steal. He shot 8 of 12 and 4 of 4 from the FT line.

Korver had 16 points, 2 boards, and a steal. He shot 6 of 15.

McGrady played 31 minutes but only had 13 points, 4 assists, but he did have 6 steals. He shot 5 of 10.

Shavlik Randolph who actually did hit a few open mid range shots (not nearly as far back as Bonner) had 10 points, 5 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 5 of 8.

Webber had 4 points, 7 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 1 of 7.

Hunter had 4 points, 7 boards, and 4 assists.

Dalembert had 2 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists.

Louis williams had 2 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 1 of 4.

My scout just finished his 4th view of Manuel Garcia of Mexico. The 4th visit reveals that many teams are scouting this kid, and I won't be able to get him probably later than the 10th pick.

Time to start scouting another very good PF - Boyd Bryant of UCLA (ick!)

December 20, 2006 -

Our simulated game is hosting the Pacers. Team Chemistry is falling and we really need a win, but the Pacers are tough.

Fortunately, we win 102-96 to improve to 8-16.

McGrady led us with 34 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 12 of 23.

Carney had 21 points on 9 of 18 shooting. He also had 5 boards, 6 assists, and 2 steals.

Webber had 20 points, 12 boards, and 4 steals. I don't know how the CPU is getting such good games from him.

Iguodala added 8 as did Hunter. Hunter also had 2 blocks.

Jermaine O'Neal was the leading scorer for the Pacers with 40 points 10 boards and a block.

Jackson had 16, Tinsley had 14, Granger had 10, and no one else scored more than 4.

Now, we travel to play the Celtics. They are using the same lineup as when we played them recently:

PG Delonte West 6'4 180

SG Gerald Green 6'8 200

SF Paul Pierce 6'6 230

PF Al Jefferson 6'10 265

C Theo Ratliff 6'10 235

Hopefully, the results will be much different this time.

Boston is up 19-15 at the end of 1, as Pierce is playing very well early.

And the 2nd quarter goes poorly. Wally is killing us. 45-30 at the half.

We are shooting 28%. They are shooting 40%.

Wally has 14 points at the half.

Hunter has 6 points to lead our bench guys.

Pierce has 13 points and 8 boards at the half.

Pierce was unstoppable in the 3rd. 73-51. Our shots aren't falling either.

Absolute annihilation. Although I rested McGrady most of the 4th. 100-68.

They shot 47%. We shot 29%.

We were both 2 of 8 behind the arc.

We hit 13 of 16 FT's. They hit 18 of 27.

We had 49 rebounds. They had 56.

We had 6 steals. They had 13 (although I made some really stupid passes late in the game.)

We each had 3 blocks.

We had 17 bench points. They had 32.

We had 4 fast break points. they had 16.

Pierce was the player of the game with 33 points, 9 boards, 7 assists, and 5 steals. He shot 14 of 23 from the field.

Szczerbiak had 20 points, 6 boards, and 4 assists on 50% shooting.

West had 16 points, 7 assists, and 2 boards.

Green had 14 points, 6 boards, and 5 assists.

Telfair had 8 points and 5 assists.

Carney had 24 points, 4 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 6 of 10 and 11 of 15 from the FT Line.

Iguodala had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 6 of 12.

Webber had 13 points, 6 boards, 6 assists, and a block. He shot 5 of 13.

It really is the best console sports game I've ever played. It's not perfect. I see some flaws in the relative lack of post play by the CPU as well as the substitution patterns by the CPU. However, despite those flaws, it is so much fun to play.

I'm looking forward to playing another game or two after the USC and LSU games are done.

That's how NHL 2k7 has been for me the past week. I played a game for a change of pace from NHL 07 and I haven't stopped playing it.

Since I've knocked Anticipation and saves down a few notches, NHL 2k7 has played really well for me too. I play that whenever I don't have time for a full game of NBA 2k7.

This game is on the road against the Warriors. I might have to make some more trades if we keep losing against the teams that are actually inferior. The Warriors are one of those teams. Their offense is rated 73, but their defense is only 59. Overall of 66. We should be able to beat them by a decent margin:

They are 13-16.

Their starting 5:

PG Baron Davis 6'2 223 (Glad I have TMac on him)

SG Jason Richardson 6'6 225

SF Mike Dunleavy 6'9 230

PF Troy Murphy 6'11 245

C Patrick O'Bryant 7'0 249

Everything went right in the 1st quarter. Good defense. Carney even hit a 3 on a fast break and was fouled to make a 4 point play. 28-11.

We had a few days off due to Christmas, and I didn't practice the guys. I think I may have been practicing them too much. With a few days of rest, they are playing the best basketball I've seen all year.

51-24 at the half! By far our biggest lead ever

We are shooting 53%. They are shooting 26%.

McGrady has 19 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists. He is shooting 64%.

Pietrus is their leading scorer with 8 points.

Carney has 12 points on 50% shooting.

Early in the 3rd, Richardson injures his ankle.

He comes back later, apparently it was just a level 1 sprain according to the announcers.

End of 3: 72-43! I'm going to rest McGrady for the rest of the game unless they pull within 15.

Game over. 93-62 win

We shot 45%. They shot 31%.

We hit 5 of 8 3 pointers. They shot 6 of 19.

We hit 6 of 9 FT's. They hit 14 of 18.

We had 30 assists. They had 20.

We had 5 turnovers. They had 13.

We had 52 rebounds (11 offensive.) They had 44 (4 offensive.)

We had 11 steals. They had 4.

We had 5 blocks. They had 0.

We had 36 bench points. They had 24.

We had 8 fast break points. They had 9.

Dunleavy led them with 17 points, 7 boards, and 3 assists.

Patrick O'Bryant was their leading rebounder with 13.

Troy Murphy was their leading assist man with 4.

McGrady was the player of the game. He had 25 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. He shot 12 of 21 (1 of 3 behind the arc.)

Carney had 18 points and 4 assists.

Shavlik Randolph was our leading board guy with 12. Webber had 11.

Hunter added 11 points and Korver had 10.

Louis Williams had 6 points off the bench.

Iguodala finished with 6 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

A very good win that we can hopefully build off of.

We face the 13-12 Kings on their floor the next day.

We lose 87-80.

Kenyon Martin was their leading scorer with 18 points.

Ron Artest was their leading rebounder with 11.

Former 76er, John Salmons (who I'd prefer at PG) had 16 points and 3 assists.

Brad Miller led the team with 7 assists. He also led the team with 2 blocks.

McGrady had 30 points, 8 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Iguodala had 11 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists.

Carney had 7 points, 6 boards, and 5 assists.

Webber had 12 points and 9 boards.

Dalembert was in foul trouble and only played 16 minutes. He 0 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks.

Korver had 11 points in 22 minutes (including 2 of 3 behind the arc.)

We are now 10-18. Our next game is at the Trailblazers.

This is a very winnable game at the Trailblazers. Their offense is rated 58. Their defense is rated 69. Overall is 64.

Their starting 5:

PG Dan Dickau 6'0 190 (Big mismatch that McGrady should be able to exploit)

SG Brandon Roy 6'6 207

SF Darius Miles 6'9 210

PF Zach Randolph 6'9 270 (their most talented player)

C Jamal Magloire 6'11 259

If we can shut down their inside game, this should be an easy win.

Remember that I said I'm not seeing enough post play? Almost every play of the 1st quarter, the Trailblazers relied on their inside guys. Perhaps it is because their guards aren't nearly as good? In any case, Magloire had 10 of their points in the 1st quarter and Randolph had 6 more.

22-17 at the end of 1.

A bad second quarter leads to a Blazer lead 43-38.

Magloire leads their team with 10 points (they went more with the guards in the 2nd quarter.) He also has 9 boards already.

Mcgrady leads our team with 13 points and 4 assists.

Iguodala has 9 points and 5 boards.

58-56, Blazers lead at the end of 3.

WOW! WOW! Korver suddenly started playing out of his mind. We were down by 6 with 30 seconds to go. Korver hit a 3. We fouled immediately. They hit 1 of 2. Korver hits another 3. So, now we are only down by 1. They hit both of their FT's when we foul. Korver hits another 3 with 9.5 seconds left to tie the game. 82-82. We force a bad shot and OT!

82-82 at the end of regulation.

Live by the Korver, die by the Korver. Well actually Iguodala hurt us first by missing 2 FT's. That allowed them to put us down by 3. Then they hit a jumper to put us down by 5 with 30 seconds left. Korver missed his 2 3's down the stretch that might have helped us come back.

95-90 OT loss.

We shot 38.8%. They shot 40%

We were 6 of 15 from behind the arc. They were 6 of 13.

We were 13 of 22 from the FT line. They were 25 of 37.

We outrebounded them 52-46.

We each had 9 steals.

We each had 2 blocks.

We had 12 fast break points to their 0.

Magloire had 20 points and 20 boards for them.

Roy, Dixon, Dickau, and Randolph all had 13. Miles and Outlaw each had 11.

Korver led us with 21 points on 8 of 17 shooting.

McGrady had 17 points, 4 boards, 8 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 8 of 24.

Carney had 17 points and a board. He shot 8 of 18.

Iguodala had 14 points, 10 boards, and 4 assists. He shot 5 of 10.

Dalembert had 6 points and 14 boards.

Randolph had 5 points and 10 boards.

Webber had 4 points, 6 boards, and 5 assists.

Louis Williams had 4 points, 3 boards, and 4 assists in limited time.

Next up is the 2nd part of a back and back away game. This game is against the 11-20 Jazz.

Their offense is rated 63, defense is rated 82, and overall is 78. They have some depth on the bench. Hopefully, we can keep up our recent good play.

PG Derek Fisher 6'1 205 (Rated 77)

SG Ronnie Brewer 6'7 220 (Rated 75)

SF Andrei Kirilenko 6'9 225 (Rated 88)

PF Mehmet Okur 6'11 249 (Rated 84)

C Jarron Collins 6'11 255 (rated 68)

SF and PF are our biggest concerns.

Down 19-16 at the end of 1.

Carney was a big part of our offense in the 1st quarter.

Williams got some great penetration to kick the ball out to Korver for some easy baskets.

43-43 at the half.

Carney has 14 points at the half.

Brewer has 9 points for the Jazz.

Korver also has 9 points on 4 of 6 shooting (all Williams' assists.)

68-59 at the end of 3, we lead. Carney has played brilliantly. 20 points and 4 assists at the end of 3.

Game over. 90-82 win! I'm relying on my bench more, and it is paying off. We shot 52%. They shot 41%.

We were 3 of 8 behind the arc. They were 2 of 14.

We were 10 of 12 from the FT line. They were 10 of 14.

We were outrebounded 43-36.

We had 6 steals. They had 7.

We had 4 blocks. They had 1.

Carney was the player of the game. He had 20 points, 5 boards, and 4 assists. He shot 9 of 16.

McGrady had 19 points, 3 boards, and 6 assists. He shot 8 of 12.

Korver had 11 points on 5 of 9 shooting.

Willie Green who I've just started using had 9 points, 3 boards, and 3 assists. He shot 3 of 4.

Iguodala had 6 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals.

Dalembert had 6 points and 4 boards.

Hunter had 6 points and 5 boards.

Randolph had 6 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists.

Webber had 5 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Louis Williams had 2 points, 2 boards, and 8 assists in only 18 minutes. He was tearing Fisher apart off the dribble.

Kirilenko led them with 20 points, 6 boards, and 7 assists (also a team high)

Okur had 12 points and 12 boards but only hit 6 of 17 shots.

Collins had 14 points and 10 boards.

Boozer had 10 points and 10 boards.

Fisher had 4 points and 9 assists.

We'll play our next game against the Wolves to get back on Cycle (but possibly not for about a week [unless I play another game tonight after the football game] as I have a business trip later this week.)

Today we play at the Timberwolves in the last game of a killer road trip which we've done surprisingly well on. The Wolves are slightly better than us with an offense of 77, defense of 82, and overall of 81.

Of course, we will have to focus on stopping Kevin Garnett. If Carney struggles doing that, I might move TMac back to SF for parts of this game.

We are 13-19. They are 15-15

They are actually starting Garnett at PF which means Webber will have the task of trying to stop him.

PG Mike James 6'2 188 (84)

SG Ricky Davis 6'7 195 (81)

SF Randy Foye 6'3 212 (80)

PF Kevin Garnett 6'11 250 (97)

C Michael Olowokandi 7'0 270 (74)

The first play is memorable as they throw it into Garnett.. we double team him. He throws it back out to James who waits and then throws it back in. Garnett spins away from Webber before the double team arrives and jams it in.

They hit a nearly full court last second shot at the end of the 1st to make it 27-19

Garnett has been torching us.

Korver injures his knee on an ill-advised layup attempt which collided with Garnett.

Korver can come back though.

Carney has been horrible all game. Most of my shooters went cold in the 2nd half and our defense suffered too.

Halftime: 55-34, Wolves lead. We are shooting 31%. They are shooting 52%.

Garnett has 14 points, 11 boards, and 4 assists at the half.

We use an intense press to cut the lead down to 9 after 8 minutes of the 3rd, but all of my guys are tired. I bring in subs and play them straight up due to decreased athletcism (particularly the slightly injured Korver.)

At the end of 3: 70-60.

With 50 seconds and the team down by 6, McGrady fouls out of the game.

20 seconds later, Louis Williams fouls out.

Korver has hit some 3's, but they are hitting their FT's.

Game over. 102-98 win for them.

They shot 46%. We shot 43% as our guys really caught on fire in the late 3rd/early 4th quarter. Too bad Carney didn't shoot this way all night.

We shot 4 of 12 from the 3 Pt line. They shot 4 of 9.

We hit 16 of 24 FT's. They hit 29 of 38.

We each had 23 assists.

We each had 8 steals.

They outrebounded us 53-42 (11-9 on the offensive boards in our favor.)

Garnet was the player of the game. 18 points and 18 boards.

McCants added 17 off the bench for them.

Eddie Griffin added 16 points and 13 boards off the bench.

Troy Hudson had 14 points and 3 assists off the bench.

Foye was their leading assist man with 8.

McGrady was our leader with 24 points, 8 assists, 2 boards, 1 steal, 1 block, but he had 5 turnovers. He shot 8 of 22.

Carney had 22 points, but he missed his first 9 shots. However, he still finished 10 of 21 as he caught on fire.

Iguodala had 14 points on 50% shooting.

Webber had 9 points and 9 boards as he was actually hitting shots early. He finished 4 of 10.

Korver had 9 points (including 2 late 3's.)

Dalembert had 8 points, 9 boards, and a block.

Louis Williams had 2 boards and 4 assists in only 13 minutes.

Our Simulated Game is at home against the Pistons. They are 18-13 so far.

Despite being well rested, we lost 117-98.

McGrady finished with 31 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, 2steals, and 2 blocks.

Iguodala finished with 22 points, 5 boards, and 4 assists.

Carney only had 5 points, but he had 7 assists.

Webber finished with 8 points, 9 boards, and 3 assists.

Dalembert had 14 points and 10 boards.

Louis Williams layed 25 minutes due to foul trouble to starters and he had 9 points, 4 boards, and 5 assists.

Rasheed led the Pistons with 29 points. Rip added 23 and Mo Peterson had 17. Billups added 15 points and 13 assists.

That loss drops us to 13-21, but our next game is at the Knicks which we should win..

This game is at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks should be an easy win. Their offense is rated 71, defense is rated 60, and overall is 62.

The Knicks are 18-18.

Their starting 5:

PG Marbury 6'2 205 (85)

SG Jamal Crawford 6'5 190 (81)

SF Quentin Richardson 6'6 238 (77)

PF Channing Frye 6'11 248 (78)

C Eddy Curry 6'11 285 (77)

We matchup fairly well at all positions.

Midway through the 1st, McGrady dunks on Crawford and injures him all in the same play. Twisted ankle, but it looks like he will be able to return.

31-24 we lead at the end of 1.

Halftime: We are up 54-48.

Both teams are shooting 50%.

McGrady has 17 points and 5 boards at the half. He is shooting 72%.

Iguodala has 13 points on 50% shooting.

Curry has 8 points on 4 of 6 shooting for the Knicks.

We are up 73-70 at the end of 3, but I've rested McGrady for the last few minutes.

Game over. 103-94 win for us

We shot 49%. They shot 48%.

We hit 3 of 9 3 pointers. They hit 5 of 13.

We hit 20 of 28 FT's. They hit 9 of 15 (YAY! Finally I win the FT battle - although I did consciously try to drive more with McGrady and Iguodala [and Carney to a lesser extent])

We had 25 assists. They had 26.

We outrebounded them 44-37 (thanks in part to having their bigs in Foul Trouble most of the game.)

We had 8 steals. They had 7.

We had 6 blocks to their 1.

Marbury led them with 22 points and 5 assists.

Quentin Richardson had 19 and Curry had 14 points with 12 boards.

Francis also had 14 points off the bench.

McGrady led us with 30 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists. He shot 13 of 18.

Iguodala had 17 points and 4 assists on 6 of 15 shooting.

Carney had 13 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 6 of 12.

Dalembert had 10 points and 9 boards along with 3 blocks. He shot 3 of 6.

Korver had 10 points on 4 of 8 shooting (2 of 3 from behind the arc.)

Webber had 8 points, 10 boards, and 7 assists.

Willie Green had 6 points off the bench.

Randolph had 4 points and 10 boards in 22 minutes.

Williams had 2 points, 1 board, and 2 assists on 1 of 4 shooting in 13 minutes.

That win makes us 14-21.

Our simulated game is hosting the 17-18 bucks.

We win 90-85.

McGrady had 23 points, 10 boards, 5 assists, and a steal.

Webber had 22 points, 8 boards, and 3 assiss.

Korver had 15 points on 6 of 11 (3 of 5)

Everyone else had 8 or less for us.

Michael Redd led them with 23 points.

Simmons added 20 for them. Bogut only had 8 points and 8 boards.

That win makes us 15-21 and our team chemistry is starting to improve a bit. No sign of happiness from the boss yet though.

It sounds like you're having fun. I got pasted in my first game againast the Heat by 40, so I'm reluctant to go back and play another game right now for sheer embarassment.

Is your team playing better in games you are playing yourself or in the ones you are simulating?

If you're talking to me, I only played the one game and haven't simulated any games. I know the reason why I lost was because of me, I just need to get used to playing the game again. If you're talking to EF, then disregard.

I'm going to guess Neuqua is talking to me. The team was playing better when I simulated early as I was playing really poorly in my early controlled games. Now, that I'm starting to run my plays better, I think we are starting to win more games that I actually play and losing a fair bit when simulated since we are worse in ratings than most teams. However, we have upset a few teams in simulated games. Except for my one glitch, I've simulated ever even game (2nd, 4th, etc) and played all of the odd games. So, I'll be able to compare my records when I next play the game and at the end of the season.

Yes, but I have gamespeed and player speed turned down to 40. I think I'm getting very realistic FG attempts and scores. Some games we run more and shoot more quickly and will creep up into the low 90's for FG attempts, but plenty of games we are down in the low 70's. The averages are working out well.

For fans of this dynasty, my wife is going out of town to visit an old friend from HS from Tuesday to Sunday, so I should get quite a bit more Playing Time this week than last.

Our next game is the 2nd part of a back and back. This game is at Charlotte which is a surprising 17-17 despite having relatively poor talent. Their offense is rated 63. Defense is rated 59. Overall of 62. They are relying on their starters a lot this year which is where their talent is concentrated.

This is clearly a very winnable game for us. Particularly, if we can get their starters either tired out or in foul trouble.

PG: Raymond Felton 6'1 198 (79)

SG Kareem Rush 6'6 215 (72)

SF Gerald Wallace 6'7 215 (80)

PF Emeka Okafor 6'10 252 (82)

C Primoz Brezec 7'1 252 (72)

Their advantage is at SF. Everywhere else we outrank them (although I think Okafor is better than Webber at this point.)

McGrady gets Felton into early foul trouble and Nick van Exel has to come into the game.

We quickly get Wallace into foul trouble as well and Adam Morrison comes into the game.

We are up 24-20 at the end of 1. Carney already has 10 points thanks to 2 3 pointers.

Halftime: 48-48. Nick is keeping them in the game.

We are shooting 44%. They are shooting 39%.

Van Exel has 17 points off the bench on 45% shooting.

He has hit quite a few 3's.

McGrady has 12 points, 9 assists, and 4 boards at the half. He is shooting 6 of 9.

Carney has 12 points on 50% shooting.

This is by far our most balanced scoring this 1st half. Almost all of my starters are in double figures.

Rush and Felton just killed me in the 3rd. 80-71, the Bobcats lead.

In the 4th, it was Morrison who killed me. I haven't seen percentages yet, but I feel like they killed me with the 3 ball more than any team I've faced yet.

Game over. 103-96 loss.

They shot 46%. We shot 45%.

They hit 10 of 18 3 pointers!!! We hit 5 of 10 from behind the arc.

They hit 9 of 12 FT's. We hit 12 of 16 FT's.

We each had 29 assists.

They outrebounded us 47-42.

We each had 8 steals.

We had 3 blocks. They had 1.

We had 10 fast break points. They had 4.

Rush was the player of the game with 22 points and 3 assists. He hit 10 of 18 (2 of 4)

Van Exel had 22 points including 4 of 8 3 pointers.

Felton had 17 points (mostly when Williams was in the game in the 3rd.) He shot 8 of 12 (1 of 2.)

Morrison had 17 points on 8 of 16 shooting (1 of 1.)

McGrady ended up with 27 points, 7 boards, 15 assists, 1 steal and 3 turnovers. He shot 11 of 21 and 5 of 6 from the line.

Iguodala had 18 points and 2 steals.

Carney had 16 points and 2 steals.

Webber had 10 points, 12 boards, and 2 assists.

Dalembert had 8 points, 6 boards, and 2 assists.

Green had 7 points to lead our bench guys.

Randolph had 6 points and 3 boards.

Korver only had 2 points.

Williams had 2 points, 5 assists, but 4 turnovers.

Our simulated game is hosting the 16-21 Raptors.

We lose 89-87 to all to 15-23.

McGrady had 32 points, 7 boards, and 4 assists.

Louis Williams had 17 points and 7 assists playing quite a lot of minutes because Iguodala was in foul trouble the whole game.

Webber had 10 points and 9 boards.

Bosh led the Raptors with 31 points, 12 boards, and 2 blocks.

No other Raptor had double figures but lots of guys with 7-9 points.

January 13, 2007 -

The Bobcats traded Rush (73) to the Bulls for PF Malik Allen who is 29. Makes sense for the Bobcats as it could get Morrison more minutes.

23-19 we lead at the end of 1. Warrick is beating us with his speed inside. Iguodala and Carney are my main scorers.

EVERYTHING went well for us in the 2nd quarter. We are up 55-34

We are shooting 56% including 4 of 4 behind the line.

Iguodala has 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting.

Carney has 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting.

Warrick is their leading scorer with 9 points. He was running circles around Dalembert early.

It's thundering outside.. hope it doesn't knock out my power.

This is a vision of what the future could be. Carney, McGrady, and Iguodala are all hitting their midrange shots. 87-56!

I'm telling the coaches to really focus on shooting during their practices.

With 9 minutes left and a 30 point lead, I sit my starters.

What a great win for us. 105-83

We shot 54% (42 of 77). They shot 47%.

We were 5 of 5 from behind the arc! They were 5 of 12.

We hit 18 of 19 FT's. They hit 12 of 16.

We had 32 assists. They had 29.

We outrebounded them 36-28.

We had 13 steals. They had 6.

We had 3 blocks. They had 1.

We had 29 bench points. They had 19.

We had 14 fast break points. They had 8.

Iguodala was the player of the game. He had 25 points, 2 boards, an assist, and 3 steals. He shot 10 of 15 (1 of 1 behind the arc.)

McGrady had 18 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists on 7 of 14 shooting. He also had 2 steals.

Carney had 18 points, 2 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal. He shot 8 of 12. None of my big 3 had any turnovers.

Dalembert had 11 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, and a block. He shot 3 of 3 and 5 of 5 from the FT Line.

Green and Korver each added 9 points.

Randolph had 8 points, 8 boards, and 8 assists!

Webber had 4 points, 5 boards, and 4 assists. I can't wait until that stiff is off our payroll.

Louis Williams had 4 points, 7 assists, and 1 steal mostly in the last quarter. However, he only hit 1 of 5.

Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 20 points.

Warrick had 19 points, 5 boards, and 2 assists against the bigger Dalembert.

Gasol had 14 points, 9 boards, and 5 assists.

We did a good job with heavy pressure on Mike Miller and limited him to 6 points.

Our simulated game is against the 24-13 Miami Heat at home. We lose 93-87 to drop to 16-24.

McGrady had 32 points, 11 boards, 8 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks but it wasn't enough.

Webber had 26 points and 10 boards.

Iguodala had 9 points on 4 of 7 shooting.

Carney had 6 points but shot 0 of 6 from the field. He hit 6 of 8 FT's.

Wade led the Heat with 20 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists.

O'Neal only had 4 points, 9 boards, and 2 blocks in 22 minutes and was in foul trouble most of the game.

Jason Williams had 19 points. Walker had 15 points and Mourning had 13 points for them.

Today we play the Spurs at home. I remember how Bonner torched us from outside last game. I need to do a better job of keeping pressure on him on the outside this game.

Their offense is rated 79. Defense is rated 100. Overall is rated 95.

Thanks to player development, our offense is up to 72. Defense is 76. Overall is 74.

The Spurs are 24-16. We are 16-24.

PG Parker 6'2 180 (86) Advantage McGrady

SG Ginobili 6'6 210 (89) Advantage Spurs

SF Bruce Bowen 6'7 200 (78) Advantage Spurs

PF Duncan 6'11 260 (99) Advantage Spurs

C Bonner 6'10 240 (74) by Ratings it is our advantage, but Bonner is much more capable scorer than Dalembert.

McGrady does a great job of getting first Parker than Duncan in foul trouble. McGrady shoots 6 FT's in the first 8 minutes.

24-19 we lead at the end of 1.

Louis Williams draws a 3rd foul on Parker midway through the 2nd and he sits again.

We are up 44-39 at the half.

We are shooting 45% as a team. They are shooting 41%

McGrady has 17 points, 4 assists, and 3 boards. He is shooting 60%.

Carney has 11 points on 50% shooting.

Bonner has 6 points on 3 of 5 shooting.

Early in the 3rd, McGrady draws a 4th foul on Parker and he sits!

At the end of 3, we are up 61-60. Their defense is ratching it up.

Early in the 4th, Williams draws a 5th foul on Parker!

After that, we go on an 18-5 run in which Williams absolutely schools Brent Barry.

That helps us get a very surprising but good home win. 89-76.

We shot 46% for the game. They shot 41%.

We were 0 of 5 from behind the arc. They were 3 of 9.

We hit 17 of 28 FT's. They hit 9 of 15.

We had 29 assists to their 26.

We outrebounded them 46-41 (8 to 8 on the offensive glass.)

We each had 9 steals.

We had 4 blocks. They had 3.

We had 33 bench points to their 28.

We had 14 fast break points. They had 6.

McGrady was the player of the game. He had 27 points, 5 boards, 7 assists, and 4 turnovers. He shot 8 of 13 and 11 of 15 from the line.

Carney added 13 points on 5 of 12 shooting as Bowen clamped down on him in the 2nd half.

Iguodala had 10 points, Korver had 10, Hunter had 9.

Louis Williams (mostly during that run) had 6 points and 8 assists. Randolph had 6 points and 8 boards.

Hunter led the team with 10 boards.

Dalembert had 6 points and 8 boards along with a block.

Webber had 2 points, 5 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

Green had 2 points and 3 boards off the bench.

Dalembert twisted his ankle and will be less than 100% for the next week or so.

I just bought the game today (partly due to this dynasty), and I love it! I do have one really small question though. Under simulation strategy, in the coaching section, what do the bottom 5 options mean? Progress Focus Offense, Progress Focus Defenes, P.F. Shooting, etc.? I couldn't find it in the manual and looked online, but still couldn't find it. Thanks

Glad you love the game. I'm looking forward to getting in another game or two tonight after work.

That involves the improvement of players that is due to your coaches' ratings. Not the development drills, but just the "behind the scenes" coaching and improvement. You can focus your coaches on working on those different categories (like offensive awareness), defensive awareness, shooting, rebounding, and I think fitness and they will improve players in those faster depending upon your focus. Of course, this comes at the price of the other areas since they always add up to 100% and I don't think it will raise the attributes over the players' hidden potential rating in that category.

Personally, I have shooting at 24% and everything else at 19% or thereabout.

Good defense (or bad offense) for both sides in the 1st. 19-14 at the end of 1, we lead.

We've been constantly double teaming Lebron which is definitely working early.

At the end of the half, we are up 37-34. Good defense from both sides.

We are shooting 36%. They are shooting 39%.

Hughes is leading them with 12 points on 6 of 6 shooting.

Lebron has 8 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 4 turnovers as we are double teaming him constantly. He is shooting 21%.

We've held Ilgauskas to 2 points.

Webber is our leading scorer with 7 points!

McGrady, Iguodala, and Carney each had 6.

Unfortunately, the Cavs open it up in the 3rd behind Lebron's explosive quarter. 71-61 Cavs lead.

McGrady had an off night from the field and it hurt. WE lose 97-86.

The Cavs shot 46%. We shot 36%.

We hit 16 of 19 FT's. They hit 9 of 12.

We had 25 assists. They had 32.

We had 43 boards. They had 54.

We had 10 steals. They had 9.

We had 2 blocks to their 1.

We had 24 bench points to their 16.

We had 22 fast break points to their 8.

Hughes had 25 points on 11 of 12 shooting.

Gibson had 10 points and 11 assists.

Ilgauskas finished with 11 points and 10 boards.

Varejao had 12 boards and 8 points.

McGrady led us with 20 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals, and only 1 turnover. However, he shot 5 of 21. He was 10 of 11 from the FT line.

Carney had 13 points on 6 of 14 shooting.

Iguodala had 12 points on 5 of 13 shooting.

Louis Williams had 12 points and 2 assists on 5 of 8 shooting as he penetrated the lane well.

Webber finished with 9 points, 11 boards, and 3 assists.

Korver had 8 points.

Two days later our simulated game will be against the Cavs at home.

Ouch. In our simulated game, the Cavs demolish us 135-90. McGrady had 29 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists.

Iguodala had 15 points and Webber had 14 points.

For the Cavs, Lebron had 40 points, 8 boards, 8 assists, and 3 steals.

Marshall had 19 points, Hughes had 20, and Gibson had 17.

That loss drops us to 17-27. Our next game is the next day at the Hawks.

Today we travel to play the Hawks. We are 17-27. They are 19-22. The boss is getting upset with me, and I desperately need this win.

The Hawks are rated 51 on offense. 49 on defense. Overall of 50. However, as we've seen before, they have some dangerous players. We need to watch Childress and Smith closely.

PG Speedy Claxton 5'11 170 (71) Big advantage for us.

SG Joe Johnson 6'8 235 (84) Advantage Hawks.

SF Josh Smith 6'9 225 (72) Push

PF Sheldon Williams 6'9 259 (73) Advantage us.

C Zaza Pachulia 6'11 240 (70) Advantage us.
