Werewolf XXX: The Ghost Council of Orzhova - Game Over - Game Ends Night Five
Hello and welcome to the unfortunately named Werewolf XXX.
This is my first time hosting, but I've read up a bunch of games, plus I've played a lot of real life mafia. Wish me luck! This game will not be as complex as Barkeep's Spawn game, and probably won't even be as complicated as hoopsguy's Egyptian game. I'd say it ranks just below the Egyptian game in complexity, though. This game will begin on Sunday, July 30/Monday, July 31 at the midnight between the days. Days will typically end at 9:00 pm EST and Night Actions will be due by 3:30 am EST. I head to bed around four, so that gives me enough time to run the actions and post the results before I retire for the evening. New players are welcome! This will be an easier game to jump into than the previous two. Background Info and Rules to follow later. Sign-ups may begin at any time. -Anxiety

Before I begin, I want to mention that this game is based very loosley on a handful of Magic cards from the Guildpact expansion set. No knowledge of the world is required, it just inpired me to flesh it out fully and in ways I am sure the creators of the world would not like
Welcome to Ravnica, the city world. Ravnica is a plane where magic and monsters live alongside humans. The entire plane of Ravnica is one giant city. Centuries ago, ten guilds formed the Guildpact, an agreement to split various functions of the world into each of the various guilds. Over time, each guild has evolved into a self serving guild who wants to shape Ravnica in their image. The Orzhov Guild is a highly ordered clan based around doing what is good for the guild while also looking out for oneself. The Orzhov are the religious institution in the world of Ravnica. They have become a body of self-serving and corrupt people, just as many other guilds have become. The ruling body of the Orzhov Guild is the Orzhov High Council. Recently, an Orzhov spy in the Dimir guild has uncovered that the Necrosages of the Dimir have been trying to infiltrate each of the other guilds. That Orzhov spy died before he could finish communicating his message, but not before confirming your worst fears: There are Dimir among the High Council itself! It has become clear that the Council must do something to uncover the Dimir. In Ravnica, souls are tied strongly to the world. Just because one dies does not mean that one’s spirit will go elsewhere. What will this mean for the Orzhov Guild? The Dimir are a secret guild apparently ruled by the Necrosages. Most people, in fact, dispute that the Dimir even exist. However, as the Orzhov ruling elite, you are quite aware that the Dimir do exist. Any Orzhov would be more than happy to die serving their guild, knowing that they continue to serve in death. As such, you have alighted on a way to discover the Dimir. Once per day, you as a council will vote to sacrifice one of your members. The Orzhov Euthanist will then kill the person in a ritual held in the council chambers as you watch. An Orzhov will die willingly. However, no Dimir would ever willingly die in order to keep their guild’s secret. Because you are all leaders of a guild in a world rife with magic, you all have some skill in various arts. Additionally, almost all of you are a bit self serving, and you regularly have an ace in the hole in order to help out. After all, you did not advance to the Council by being stupid.

All people killed during the course of this scenario will become ghosts. Ghosts will still be able to communicate, but special rules will be attached to them.
The rules for ghosts: 1) Ghosts may only post three times during any night cycle and not during the day. Night weakens the boundaries between worlds, thus allowing spirits to speak. 2) Ghosts may not communicate in PMs to anybody other than myself no matter what theur role normally says. 3) Ghosts are not allowed to vote during either Day or Night actions. 4). Ghosts may not role reveal. 5) All ghosts have a Night Action that they may take, once. You may try to Stretch Through the Void. This will allow you to push through the Void and speak during the following day, but you do not know what the effect of the strain will have on your spirit. This is a world of magic and mystery. Be prepared for things to happen which break the rules. While you all have various abilities, most of these are minor, and should not affect the game seriously. Because you know each other already, you will know, prior to the game beginning, what rank each of you has in the guild. The council is ordered into Prelates, Pontifexes, Pontifex Maximus, Magister, Quaestors, Praetor, Aediles, and a Censor. Prelates are the common council members. The Magister is the ruler of the council. Aediles are in charge of some mundane, practical element of the Guild. Quaestors are leaders of various divisions in the guild. Pontifexes are essentially high priests in the religious caste while the Pontifex Maximus is the leader of the religious caste in the guild. The Censor is the scribe of the council. The Praetor is second in command. Ranks: In Order of rank from top down Magister – In charge Praetor – Second in command Quaestor - In charge of various military regiments Aedile – Administrator in charge of an office (Library, Infirmary, Administration) Prelate – High ranking officers in the guild without specific responsibilities Censor – Scribe Pontifex Maximus – The Ruler of the Religious caste in the guild. Outside of the normal rank structure. When euthanized, you will know a person’s faction affiliation. You will not know their specific role, however. At the end of the game, all roles will be revealed in detail. Orzhov may not PM each other. There are a variety of special roles that break some of the above rules. You are never allowed to quote a PM or use the words in the PM. Attempts will be made to be as different as possible with PMs from person to person so that there is little to compare by. Winning is through normal method: Dimir = equal numbers Orzhov = no Dimir I will end the game once one of these two has been achieved. -Anxiety

Through the 13th. It's not really a vacation per se, but rather a sorta working trip. I have have access to the net, but not always availability to access the net, if that makes sense. Night actions wouldn't be a problem though.

I haven't done a Werewolf, although I have read a couple of the threads. This seems like a good one to give it a go. Count me in if there's room.

Barkeep - to answer your question - if the role would have an obvious ability, it will, if that makes sense. If the office held is a special office, then it will often come with special roles. Some players will have an office role and then a mage role. Some players will just have an office role. Some players (Prelates, for example) will just have a mage role. And some mage roles aren't even "mage roles," they are just abilities and whatnot.
