lol, Icy, I'll make sure you get a better recruit next time. 2 stars is tough!

Law, thats fine if you want your recruit to be foreign, but I'll need a city and a country for editing purposes.

I'll add Law and Ntndeacons recruits for next season. Those will be the only 2, and that will be all the recruits I take until the initial 6 are gone. That will give me 12 players to track for those next 2 seasons, and that's enough for now. Thanks for the interest guys. More updates coming later, after lunch.

Nov. 22-28

A couple preseason tournaments to tell you about this week, starting with Oklahoma.

Nov. 22, 2004

2004 Maui Invitational

Oklahoma vs. Mississippi St. -- The Sooners rolled to an easy win in this one, winning 85-60 behind 15 points from Navraj. He also had 7 turnovers though.

Nov. 23, 2004

2004 Maui Invitational

Oklahoma vs. #14 Maryland -- Navraj never got going in this one, fouling out after 25 minutes, and scoring just 6 points. The Sooners lost 81-59, so they'll play for third place.

Nov. 24, 2004

2004 Maui Invitational

Oklahoma vs. #23 Kansas -- The Sooners took third in the Maui Invitational with a 75-64 victory. Navraj struggled again however, scoring just 7 points on 2-9 shooting.

2004 Great Alaska Classic

South Carolina vs. #4 Illinois -- South Carolina was no match for the Illini in this one, falling 104-75. It was another decent effort from Winslow, who scored 13 points, but did have 6 turnovers.

Nov. 26, 2004

2004 Great Alaska Classic

South Carolina vs. #13 North Carolina -- The Tarheels laughed their way to a 102-58 victory, sending the Gamecocks into the 7th place game. Winslow keeps up his double digit scoring streak with 10, but also had 7 turnovers.

Nov. 27, 2004

2004 Great Alaska Classic

South Carolina vs. Hawaii -- The Gamecocks salvaged 7th place in the Great Alaska Classic, posting a slim 68-66 victory over Hawaii. Winslow scored only 9 points, but only had 2 turnovers tonight.

Other games this week

Nov. 23 -- Detroit @ Cincinnati -- The Bearcats struggled to put away Detroit, but did finally come out with a 69-63 victory. Schaplowsky played 12 minutes and had 2 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds. Moungey scored 13 points on 4-6 shooting, but was just 4-9 from the line.

Nov. 25 -- Cornell @ Duquesne -- In a move that surprised even himself, Ivan Carrillo got 11 minutes of playing time, and he produced nicely, with 9 points on 2-3 shooting and 5-6 from the line. Unfortunately, Duquesne lost 80-75.

Nov. 26 -- Hofstra @ Monmouth -- It was an easy one for the Pride, as they dispatched Monmouth with an 87-58 victory. Haynes helped out with 13 points.

Nov. 27 -- Duquesne @ Michigan -- I've got to call this one an upset, as Duquesne won 78-74 in a very even game. Carrillo managed to get a couple minutes of action in this one, and pulled down a couple boards.

Nov. 28 -- Oklahoma @ Southern Illinois -- No problem for the Sooners in this one, as they rolled to a 106-78 victory. Navraj was the sharpshooter in this one, hitting 5 treys and finishing with 22 points.

Nice to see Winslow's scoring is there, too bad he can't hang on to the ball.

Would you guys like to see game by game reports, or just highlighted key games and then short individual details? You've seen both ways so far, what do you like better? I think the amount of typing is gonna be about the same either way.

Nov. 29-Dec. 4

Key Games and Performances

Dec. 1 -- Angus Haynes didn't have the biggest stats, but he did have a balanced 6 point, 6 assist, and 4 rebound effort as Hofstra beat Marist 91-75.

Dec. 10 -- Although Angus Haynes was unavailable to play, Hofstra gave #23 St. Josephs all they wanted, losing 80-78. One only wonders what would have happened had Haynes been available.

Dec. 12 -- Cincinnati did what they couldn't do last week.. they beat a ranked team. Tim Moungey had 6 points and 4 assists, and Mike Schaplowsky had 3 points and 2 rebounds as the Bearcats beat #22 UCLA 98-82.

Dec. 13-19

Key Games and Performances

Not much in the way of key games or top performances this week, in fact, only one game gets mention.

Dec. 16 -- Angus Haynes made his return to the Hofstra lineup and contriubuted 9 points on 3-5 from the field, but the Pride lost to Pennsylvania 75-66.

Individual Details

SF Mike Schaplowsky -- 2 points and 2 rebounds @ Ohio St. (W 83-73)

PG Tim Moungey -- 4 points, 4 assists @ Ohio St. (W 83-73)

PF Ivan Carrillo -- played 5 minutes with no stats @ Pittsburgh (L 81-47), DNP @ James Madison (W 75-51)

SG Angus Haynes -- DNP due to injury vs. Rhode Island (W 74-35), made his return with a 9 point effort on 3-5 from the field vs. Pennsylvania (L 75-66), 7points, made his only three point attempt @ Seton Hall (W 103-78)

SG Riley Navraj -- 10 points, but just 3-13 shooting vs. Tennessee (L 75-67)

PG Maddox Winslow -- 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists vs. South Carolina State (W 77-55), 7 points on 2-13 shooting, no assists, 3 turnovers vs. Wofford (L 71-64)

Polls: Oklahoma's loss this week means no votes in the new polls, but Cincinnati did receive 9 votes.

December 20-26

2004 Rainbow Invitational

Dec. 23 -- Cincinnati vs. Western Kentucky -- The Bearcats won this game easily, 95-64. Tim Moungey had 5 points and 2 assists, and Mike Schaplowsky hit one free throw and grabbed 2 boards in 10 minutes of action.

Dec. 25 -- Cincinnati vs. Utah -- This was a great game, but when it was all said and done, the Bearcats came out on top by the slimmest of margins, 92-91. Moungey had his best scoring output of the season with 17 points, and Schaplowsky only had 1 point again, with 3 rebounds.

Dec. 26 -- Cincinnati vs. #25 Michigan St. -- This was another great game, but unfortunately the Bearcats fell short, losing 82-76, but did finish second place in the Rainbow Invitational. Moungey fouled out after scoring 4 points, and Schaplowsky also scored 4 points.

Other games this week

Dec. 20 -- SMU @ Oklahoma -- The Sooners got back on the winning way with a 104-90 victory. Riley Navraj had 15 points on 5-9 shooting and also grabbed 6 boards.

Dec. 20 -- College of Charleston @ South Carolina -- The Gamecocks got 15 points from Maddox Winslow as they pulled out a 77-68 victory.

Dec. 21 -- Hofstra @ Army -- The Pride rolled to a 94-60 victory, but Angus Haynes had a terrible game, only playing 14 minutes because of foul trouble He made 1-6 from the field for his only 2 points.

Dec. 25 -- William & Mary @ Hofstra -- This was another easy victory for the Pride, as they rolled 93-63. Haynes had a much better game, scoring 13 points on 4-10 shooting.

Polls: Surprisingly, a 2nd place finish in the Rainbow Invitational wasn't enough to give Cincinnati more votes. In fact, they actually lost their votes.

So we have one vote for the game by game reports. I think that might be the way to go, unless somebody else has a problem with it.

OK, well since game by game seems to be the preferred way, we'll just go with that.

Dec. 27, 2004-Jan. 2, 2005

Dec. 27 -- Georgia Southern @ South Carolina -- It was a tougher game for the Gamecocks than it should have been, but Maddox Winslow picked up the slack with a 16 point, 8 rebound effort to get POTG honors, and the Gamecocks won 77-68.

Dec. 28 -- Veromnt @ Duquesne -- Another game on the bench for Ivan Carrillo, and Vermont broke open a close game at halftime to roll over Duquesne 83-60.

Dec. 29 -- Towson @ Hofstra -- This game was over at halftime, as the Pride led 57-24 and rolled to a 109-53 victory. Angus Haynes had another balanced game with 3 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Dec. 30 -- South Carolina @ Stetson -- Maddox Winslow continues to shock people with his rebounding abilities, as he pulled down 7 today, along with 20 points to win his second straight POTG award as the Gamecocks beat Stetson 71-48.

Dec. 31 -- Duquesne @ Ohio -- Ivan Carrillo's team continues to struggle, losing to Ohio 81-63, as our foreign recruit rode the pine again.

Jan. 1 -- Hofstra @ Georgia St. -- The Pride finally lost their first conference game, falling to Georgia St. 74-65. Haynes scored 10 points on 2-4 shooting and 4-4 from the line.

Jan. 2 -- Oklahoma @ St. Bonaventure -- The Sooners rallied from a halftime deficit to pull off a 86-78 road victory. Riley Navraj didn't have his best day though, as he was 3-10 from the field for 9 points.

Polls: Oklahoma climbed into the polls at #21, while Cincinnati is in the honorable mention category with 6 votes.

As we roll into the new year, I thought we should take a look at how our recruits are doing:

SF Mike Schaplowsky -- Mike has been a bit of a dissapointment in his freshman campaign, averaging just 12 minutes a game, scoring 1.8 ppg and pulling down 1.5 boards a game. Hopefully next year he'll get more of a chance to shine.

PG Tim Moungey -- Tim is also struggling just a bit in his freshman year. He is averaging 6.9 ppg, but he's giving up more turnovers a game than he is getting assists.

PF Ivan Carrillo -- Ivan was shocked to even get playing time this year, although it has been very, very scarce. He's appeared in 4 games, averaging 6 minutes a game. He's scoring a bucket a game, but that's it.

SG Angus Haynes -- Angus isn't scoring a lot, but he's not getting a lot of opportunities either. He's 37.1% from three point land, and 39.7% from the field. He's gonna be a good player, he just needs to get more touches.

SG Riley Navraj -- Riley has stepped in nicely this season, averaging about 13 points a game, but still struggling to find his shot. He's shooting just 29.3% from three point land.

PG Maddox Winslow -- Maddox is really surprising people. He's second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.4 ppg. He's also 5th on the team in rebounding, averaging almost 4 a game.

Jan. 3-Jan. 9

Jan. 3 -- Toledo @ Duquesne -- Ivan Carrillo played mop-up duty tonight, getting in for the last minute, and hitting his only shot. Unfortunately, his team lost 82-64.

Jan. 5 -- DePaul @ Cincinnati -- The Bearcats had a tough game tonight, but pulled out a 76-74 victory. Tim Moungey scored 8 points on 3-6 shooting and had 3 assists. Mike Schaplowsky played only 8 minutes and missed his only shot attempt.

Jan. 5 -- Virginia Commenwealth @ Hofstra -- The Pride rolled to another easy victory tonight, winning 96-60. Angus Haynes had a nice game, scoring 7 points and dishing 6 assists, with no turnovers. There is talk about giving him a chance at PG.

Jan. 6 -- #21 Oklahoma @ Xaiver -- The Sooners defended their new ranking with an easy 81-55 victory. Once again though, Riley Navraj struggled with his shooting, going 3-11 from the field and scoring 9 points. He did have 5 rebounds however.

Jan. 8 -- Duquesne @ LaSalle -- It was a shocker tonight, as Duquesne won their opening game in conference play, beating LaSalle 74-72. Carrillo saw no playing time in this one.

Jan. 8 -- #21 Oklahoma @ #17 Kansas -- This was another good game for the Sooners, as they won 63-61. Navraj fouled out in just 18 minutes, scoring just 3 points.

Jan. 8 -- Cincinnati @ DePaul -- The Bearcats rolled to an easy 88-56 victory tonight, shooting 49.1% for the game. Moungey had a great scoring night with 17 points on 4-9 from the field and 7-8 from the line. Schaplowsky missed all 4 of his free throws, which won't help his cause. He did make a bucket for his only 2 points.

Jan. 8 -- Hofstra @ Northeastern -- The Pride won another conference game, but had it a bit tougher this time. They did pull out the 83-74 victory. Haynes didn't look near like he did in the Prides last game, shooting just 2-10 from the field. He did have 8 points, but only 3 assists.

Jan. 8 -- South Carolina @ #7 Florida -- The Gamecocks first game in SEC play did not go ask expected, as they got hammered 85-54. Maddox Winslow had 4 points and 2 rebounds, along with 2 assists.

Polls: Oklahoma moved up in the polls to #17, while Cincinnati also slipped in at #25.

Jan. 10-16

Jan. 12 -- Duquesne @ George Washington -- Ivan Carrillo saw 10 minutes of action in this game, and might have seen more had he not committed 4 fouls. He pulled down 2 rebounds, but it was another loss for his team, 72-61.

Jan. 12 -- #25 Cincinnati @ St. Johns -- The Bearcats forgot to show up tonight, trailing 48-16 at halftime and losing 79-50. Tim Moungey had 2 points and 4 assists while Mike Schaplowsky scored 5 points.

Jan. 12 -- Hofstra @ UNC Wilmington -- Another impressive performance from the Pride, who used a 12 point effort including 7-7 at the line by Angus Haynes as they rolled to a 97-68 victory.

Jan. 12 -- #24 Georgia @ South Carolina -- Maddox Winslow scored 13 points on 5-9 from the field, but the Gamecocks were hammered tonight, 94-57.

Jan. 15 -- Xavier @ Duquesne -- It was a hard fought effort tonight, but another loss, as Duquesne fell 87-80. Carrillo played 11 minutes tonight, scoring 6 points and grabbing 2 boards.

Jan. 15 -- Colorado @ #17 Oklahoma -- Navraj had another bad shooting night, shooting 4-12 from the field and 3-10 from the three point line. He did score 16 points though as the Sooners rolled again, 86-60.

Jan. 15 -- Louisville @ #25 Cincinnati -- The Bearcats dropped another tough one tonight, losing 82-78. Moungey had a nice game with 9 points and 5 assists, while Schaplowsky scored 2 points and had 2 boards.

Jan. 15 -- LSU @ South Carolina -- The Gamecocks continue to struggle in the SEC, dropping a heartbreaker 67-65. They played tough the whole game however. Winslow had 8 points, and surprised with 5 boards tonight.

Jan. 17 -- Colorado @ Cincinnati -- The Bearcats picked up a tough 83-69 victory over a solid Colorado team. Tim Moungey had a nice game with 12 points on 3-5 shooting and 4-4 from the line. Mike Schaplowsky had a tough shooting night, missing all 3 of his shots, but did have 2 rebounds and 3 assists.

Jan. 17 -- #15 Oklahoma @ New Mexico St. -- A tough night for the Sooners as they fell 89-76 to an Aggie team that is shocking everybody this season, on the way to a 17-2 start. Riley Navraj had 8 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound.

Jan. 19 -- #11 Temple @ Duquesne -- The morbid season continued for our Duquense guys, losing big to Temple, 98-52. Ivan Carrillo surprisingly saw no action in this one.

Jan. 19 -- Auburn @ South Carolina -- The Gamecocks had a surprising effort tonight, putting up a season high in points with a 106-89 victory. Maddox Winslow also had a career high with 22 points. He also contributed 5 assists.

Jan. 22 -- #19 Kansas @ #15 Oklahoma -- The Sooners ended their bad week with a big 92-73 loss to the Jayhawks. Navraj scored 13 points, but had 6 turnovers.

Jan. 22 -- Cincinnati @ Providence -- The Bearcats won a tough one tonight, coming back from an 8 point halftime deficit to win 85-78. Moungey had 12 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds, while Schaplowsky continued to struggle, missing all 5 of his shots from the field and scoring no points again.

Jan. 23 -- South Carolina @ Centenary -- The Gamecocks improved to 11-7 with an 83-57 victory. Winslow had another nice game with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

I got the report done for the next week, but my stupid internet got it deleted. I'm too frustrated right now to retype it, but I'll get to it later. There's some good stuff in the report, a couple of our guys had career games. Will hopefully get it back on here tonight.

That's cool, I didn't read much of what had happened so I didn't know how full it was. You know my dick gets hard when I see people doing FBCB instead of the tired, old football sims.

Well now, I didn't need to know all that. lol. Yeah, I'm much bigger on basketball games than football games. My only regret was that I didn't get Tournament Dreams College Basketball before 400 software studios shut down. Now the game is non-existant.

FBCB is the better game. IMO, I'd rank the college bball games as so:

FBCB > TCB > TDCB > TDCB > CAD

CAD will always hold a special place in my heart though as it was the first sim to get me hooked.

I agree with you. I liked the graphics on TDCB though, and I regret to say I never got to play CAD. It would never work right on my computer.

OK, here is the report that got deleted last time.

Jan. 24-30

Jan. 24 -- Duquesne @ Richmond -- Duquesne drops another tough one tonight, 57-55. Ivan Carrillo got 2 minutes of action late in the game, but no stats to speak of.

Jan. 24 -- Arkansas @ Oklahoma -- It was a big non-conference win for the Sooners, as they rolled to a 99-64 victory. Riley Navraj was a star tonight, hitting 10-13 from the field, 7-9 from three point land, and scoring 31 points to go along with 4 boards and 3 assists. He got POTG award.

Jan. 26 -- #25 Cincinnati @ Villanova -- The Bearcats won a hard fought game 74-65. Tim Moungey scored 7 points and had a career high 9 assists. Mike Schaplowsky scored 3 points and had 4 rebounds in 16 minutes.

Jan. 26 -- Northeastern @ Hofstra -- The Pride rolled to another easy victory tonight 90-59. Angus Haynes scored 9 points, had 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

Jan. 29 -- LaSalle @ Duquesne -- The losses keep piling up for Duquesne, as they lost this one 99-79. Surprisingly, Carrillo saw no action.

Jan. 29 -- Oklahoma @ Kansas St. -- The Sooners led 43-19 at halftime and rolled to a 76-57 victory. Navraj followed his career game with a 7-10 effort from the field, and 5-7 from three point land. This was good for 19 points and he also had 5 assists.

Jan. 29 -- Old Dominion @ Hofstra -- It was a tough game, but the Pride held on for an 83-74 victory. Haynes only took 3 shots the whole game, but made 2 of them for 4 points.

Jan. 29 -- South Carolina @ #18 Alabama -- The Gamecocks proved they aren't ready to be on top of the SEC yet, getting hammered 117-81. Maddox Winslow played only 21 minutes before fouling out, but in those 21minutes he had 11 points, 4 boards, and 4 assists.

Jan. 29 -- #3 Duke @ #25 Cincinnati -- The Blue Devils continued to dominate the league, beating up on the Bearcats 76-54. Moungey fouled out in 19 minutes, scoring just 5 points. Schaplowsky missed his only shot of the game, but did have 3 boards and 3 assists.

Polls: Oklahoma and Cincinnati keep fighting for who is going to be in the polls. This week Oklahoma climbs into the #21 spot, while Cincinnati falls out with 27 votes, 30 away from the 25th spot.

Jan. 31-Feb. 6

Jan. 31 -- #24 UConn @ Cincinnati -- It was a big, big win for the Bearcats tonight, as they defeated the ranked Huskies 86-78. Tim Moungey had a nice scoring night with 12, also dishing out 5 assists. Mike Schaplowsky continued to struggle, missing all 5 of his shots, but he did pull down 5 boards.

Jan. 31 -- South Carolina @ Mississippi -- A long week started for the Gamecocks tonight, as they lost big time to a team they should have beat. The final score was 96-78. Maddox Winslow had a solid game, going 5-8 from the field and 7-8 from the line, good for 17 points.

Feb. 2 -- George Washington @ Duquesne -- The struggles continued, as Duquesne fell tonight 87-70. Ivan Carrillo was a no show again tonight, riding the pine the full 40 minutes.

Feb. 2 -- #11 Iowa St. @ #21 Oklahoma -- Tough luck for the Sooners tonight, as they were beaten by a higher ranked Cyclones team. Riley Navraj had 15 points and 4 boards tonight.

Feb. 2 -- Hofstra @ William & Mary -- It was another easy one tonight for the Pride, as they won 92-69. Angus Haynes got the POTG award, leading the Pride with 19 points and 5 boards.

Feb. 2 -- South Carolina @ Vanderbilt -- The slump continues, as the Gamecocks fall 88-66 tonight to a Vandy team that is doing much better than people predicted. Winslow had 6 points, 3 boards, and 5 assists tonight.

Feb. 4 -- Iowa @ Cincinnati -- It was another nice non-conference win for the Bearcats tonight, as they beat Iowa 90-81. Moungey had another 12 point effort tonight, while Schaplowsky went 1-2 with 2 points.

Feb. 5 -- #12 Temple @ Duquesne -- This one was ugly, as the Owls rolled to a 98-67 victory. For the third straight game, Carrillo saw no action.

Feb. 5 -- Oklahoma St. @ #21 Oklahoma -- This was a damaging game for the Sooners, as they fell 87-75. It was even more damaging for Navraj. After 3 straight solid games, he was held scoreless tonight, missing all 6 of his shots and fouling out after just 19 minutes.

Feb. 5 -- Hofstra @ Old Dominion -- The Pride had to come from behind tonight, but they extended their win streak to 9 games with a tough 95-89 victory. Haynes scored 12 points in the win tonight.

Feb. 5 -- Arkansas @ South Carolina -- A dismal week continued for the Gamecocks, as they dropped their third game this week, 75-58. Winslow scored only 7 points, but had a surprising 7 boards.

Polls: Once again the merry go round with Oklahoma and Cincinnati continues. After losing both their games this week, Oklahoma falls out of the polls, and gets no votes at all. Cincinnati, with a solid week, moves back up to 19 in the polls.

As we move into the last week of the season, I thought it'd be fitting to take a look at where our 5 teams were at.

Cincinnati - The Bearcats are close to locking up a slot in the NCAA Tournament. Right now they are 15-6, and 5-2 in the Big East, good for second place in the Big East East Division. They have 9 key games in February, and they should easily win 6 of those games.

Duquesne - Ivan Carrillo's team is struggling bad. They are 3-16 overall, and 1-7 in the Atlantic Ten conference. The only way these guys will see postseason action is a miracle run in the A-10 tournament.

Hofstra - If the Pride played in a power conference, their 19-4 record would have already locked them into an NCAA berth. But because they play in a small conference, they aren't guaranteed anything yet. With an RPI of 65, you'd have to think they would at least be in consideration for an at-large berth if they don't win the Colonial Tournament. They are currently 11-1 in conference.

Oklahoma - The Sooners have been inconsistent of late, having a 16-7 record, but only 4-3 in the Big Twelve right now. With an RPI of 20, however, they are looking to be a solid bid in the NCAA Tournament, unless they really slip up in February.

South Carolina - The Gamecocks have really hurt their postseason chances after a three loss week last week. They are currently 11-11 overall, and just 1-7 in the SEC. With 6 of their last 8 games coming against the top 4 teams in the conference, they are going to have to pull a few upsets to see the postseason.

OK, I've given up on interactive dynasties for good, they are just too darn hard to keep up with. But I have started a new FBCB dynasty, if anybody is interested. It's got some new twists to it.
