WOW. The Superdome looks GREAT on the 360. Just like the real dome.

The 1st play of the game, I try to catch them off guard with a PA pass. Well, Sachez underthrows it and Flowers returns it 43 yards for a TD. OUCH. 7-0.

Next play, Sanchez hits Washington in stride on a late release and he breaks a move for a 68 yard gain! 2 plays later Washington runs it in from 3 yards out. 7-7. This is an unexpected quick scoring game.

Not too surprisingly, Tereshinski is starting. On their 3rd offensive play, the FB fumbles it and Ellison recovers for us!

Their defense holds. We have a poor put and they start at their 28.

Brown with a run of 6, 1, and 2.5 yards leads to a punt.

Jarrett catches 4 passes on our next drive for a total of 72 yards including a 12 yarder for a TD. Jarrett had over 50 YAC on this drive. 14-7.

The 1st play is a PA pass for 18 yards. Then, Brown runs it for 10 and he knocks our Safety Ellison out of the game.

Brown fumbles it the next carry, but he picks it up himself and runs it for 2 yards.

A PI call gets them another 15 yards.

A few plays later, Jackson stops Brown on 3rd and 1. They kick the short FG. 14-10.

They force a 3 and out after stopping me inches short of the 1st.

1st play Tereshinski hits Massaquoi in stride after faking the handoff to Brown. 72 yard TD. 17-14.

After exchanging failed drives, we go back to Jarrett a lot. However, Coleman is the one who pounds it in from the 1. 21-17.

They drive to our 25 with a balanced attack. Then we get two sacks and force a 55 yard FG attempt which they barely make. 21-20.

Reed with my first ever kickoff return in this game!!! 28-20! Reed returned it 96 yards thanks to great blocking that left the right side of the field wide open!

Without worrying about the run, I easily stop the passing 3 plays in a row. They punt and we get it on our 40 with 24 seconds left in the half.

They sack my QB on 2nd down and I just the time run out.

Halftime. 28-20.

Halftime stats:

Tereshinski is 11 of 14 for 191 yards 1 TD 0 INT.

Sachez is 11 of 19 for 219 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

Brown has 10 carries for 44 yards.

Washington has 7 carries for 21 yards.

Brown is the leading receiver with 4 catches for 48 yards.

Jarrett has 7 catches for 124 yards and a TD at the half.

Brown also has 4 KR's for 91 yards.

28-20. Unfortuately, I kick off to them to start the 2nd half....

1st play of the 2nd half. Jackson sacks Tereshinski and recovers it and runs it to the 10!

3 plays later, Washington runs it in on 4th and inches. 35-20.

They are starting to abandon the run, and I'm back to playing a 7 man front. Pinkard jumps an out and runs it back 22 yards for a TD. 42-20.

Will Harris intercepts the ball 4 plays into their next drive as the QB just overthrows his man. Unfortunately, on the return he is FLATTENED by an OL and breaks his wrist. He is out for the game and a good long time. We are getting dangerously thin in the secondary.

Danelo doesn't make a 45 yard FG attempt.

They start using Brown again, and they move the ball inside our 10. We stop them there and they kick the short FG. 42-23.

With 6:30 left in the game, we punt and pin them inside the 3. On 3rd and 8 we blitz and get a safety. 44-23.

Ting fumbles a punt return and they pick it up and run it in to make it 44-30 with 3:30 left in the game.

We recover the onside kick. We run it to about the 20, before they stop us. We kick the FG to make it 47-30.

Tereshinski gets Raley on a quick slant, ad he breaks a tackle and goes 79 yards for a TD. 47-37.

We recover the onside, run 3 plays, make them use their timeouts, and then pin them inside the 5 with a punt.

McCurtis jumps a slant on the 3rd play of their drive and returns it 32 yards for a TD. 54-37.

Game over. 54-37 win for us.

Tereshinski 22 of 33 for 392 yards 2 TD 3 INT's.

Sanchez 17 of 30 for 226 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

Thomas Brown 20 carries for 91 yards.

Washington 21 carries for 79 yards and 2 TD's.

Sanchez 4 carries for 13 yards.

Coleman 2 carries for 4 yards and a TD.

Hancock 3 carries for 0 yards.

Bryant had 5 catches for 69 yards.

M. Massaquoi had 5 catches for 121 yards and a TD.

Jarrett had 7 catches for 123 yards and a TD (all in 1st half, never caught one another in the 2nd.)

Washigton had 3 catches for 86 yards. Long of 65.

Smith had 3 catches for 18 yards.

P. Oliver led Georgia with 9 tackles.

Q. Moses had 2 sacks for them.

Flowers had their only interception.

Ting led us with 7 tackles.

Ellis and Jackson each had 2 sacks.

McCurtis, Pinkard, and Harris each had a pick.

The following players are leaving for the Pro Draft:

First those graduating having used up all of the their eligibility:

WR Steve Smith - Rated 96, had a poor year.

C Ryan Kalil - Rated 96

LOLB Dallas Sartz - Rated 94.

FB Brandon Hancock - Rated 93.

MLB Oscar Lua Rated 93.

SS Ryan Ting Rated 90.

RT Kyle Williams Rated 89.

FS Brandon Ting rated 88.

HB Hershel Dennis rated 87.

#3 WR Chris McFoy rated 86.

DT Travis Tofi rated 86.

Backup FB Ryan Powfrell rated 86.

LE Rashaad Goodrum rated 80.

Players that are likely to leave early:

RG Chilop Rachal rated 82.

WR Jarrett now rated 98. If there is a chance of convincing him, I'll make the effort to do so, most likely. Actually, now is when I can try to convince him. He is leaning pretty heavily towards going, and it seems like a long shot at best. I let him go...

LT Sam Baker rated 97.

LE Lawrence Jackson rated 96.

All of the players seem quite intent on going, I let them go. Big talent hit this year from graduation and early declarations. For the first time ever, I'm going to save my graduation classes and import them into Madden. If Madden is good, I'll do an Eagles Mini-Dynasty/Dynasty when I get it for the 360 and also follow my USC graduates who make it to the pros.

No one requested to transfer to us. Now, it's time for recruiting. I'm just going to give a blurb about each of the recruits we get..

In week 1, I recruit exclusively in CA, our pipeline state and cheapest state to recruit since we need to replace so many guys.

In the 1st week, we get Michael Riley, a 6'6 251 pound 5 star TE. We also get Jeremy Simmons, a 6'1 166 pound 4 star WR.

Michael is the 30th ranked recruit in the country and is even better than Watkins who we signed earlier. He is from Concord, CA. He runs a 4.49 in the 40 and benches almost 400 pounds. He also has excellent hands. He will be a great replacement when Fred Davis goes pro, and he might even become our #2 TE immediately and play in our 2 TE sets.

Jeremy is ranked 310th in the nation. He runs a 4.41 40. He has a 41" vertical jump and outstanding hands. He played in Burbank, CA.

In week 2, we got Mike Brooks to sign with us. He is a 6'5 191 pound 3 star athlete who will most likely play WR for us. He is from El Cajon, CA. He runs a 4.44 40. He benches over 300 pounds and squats almost 500 pounds. He has a 40.4" high jump and he has very good hands.

Jared Hayes the top remaining QB in the nation that I was recruiting, just signed with ASU!

Derrick Webb, the top DT that I was pursuing just chose Nebraska.

Wallace Spinner, the top LE, I was pursuing just choise Boise State!

Jerome Potts, the top RT in the nation, chose Georgia over me.

SS Jamaal McFadden, one of the top in the nation, also chose Georgia over me.

Derrick Shaw, a very fast HB, chose Washington over us.

I'd definitely agree with those that say recruiting is tougher this year than past versions (and that is a good thing, even though it is frustrating right this second.)

In week 3, we did a bit better.

We got Edward Porter, a 6'5 199 pound 4 star S/Athlete. We also signed John Seward, a 5'11 201 pounds 3 star FB. Finally, we got David Tuiasosopo, a 6'0 228 pound 3 star MLB.

Edward was ranked 60th in the nation overall. He runs a 4'32 in the 40. He benches over 370 pounds and squats over 500 poinds. He has good hands and good field awareness. He is from Santee, CA.

John is ranked 354th in the nation. He runs a 4.60 in the 40. He benches almost 400 pounds and squats over 600. He has good hands and good field awareness, but he was really a signing of desperation because our scouts don't think he will get much better. However, we need a backup FB and he is much better than what we would get via a walk on. He is from Novato, CA.

David is ranked 412th overall in the nation. He runs a 4.55 40. He squats over 700 pounds. He has poor hands, but is a ferocious hitter. He also fills a definite need for a backup. He is from Beverly Hills, CA.

Week 4 was a good week.

Jeff Nicholson, a 5'10 189lb 4 star WR signed with us. Paul Guillory, a 5'11 205 pound 4 star MLB signed with us. Donnie Dean, a 6'1 180 pound 3 star WR also signed with us.

Jeff Nicholson is from Westminster, CA. He runs a 4.44 in the 40. He has a 40" vertical and very good hands. He is ranked 237th in the nation.

Paul is ranked 189th in the nation. He is from Florence-Graham, CA. He runs a 4.51 in the 40. He squats almost 700 pounds. He has decent hands and is a hard tackler.

Donniue Dean is ranked 382nd in the nation. He is from Turlock, CA. He runs a 4.28 in the 40. He has excellent hands too, but needs to work on his field awareness.

Most of my other targets went to other teams, and I still have 11 scholarships available..

In week 5, we got Tommy Carrington a 4 star FS who is 5'11 191 pounds to sign. Overall, not a very good recruiting season. Tommy is ranked 226th in the nation. He runs a 4.52 in the 40. He has very good hands.

So to summarize our class, we got a 5 star RG, a 5 star TE, 2 4 star FS's, 1 4 star SS/Athlete, 1 4 star TE, 2 4 star MLB's, 2 4 star WR's, 1 4 star C, 2 3 star WR's, 1 3 star FB, and 1 3 star MLB. We did really well at a few positions and struck out at HB and QB where we were already loaded.. I think the recruiting is better at least from this small sample size...

Ranking the top 20 classes:

1. Oklahoma: 3-11-7-1-0.
2. Michigan: 3-9-7-1-0.
3. Louisville: 0-11-8-5-1.
4. Tennessee: 1-9-10-1-0.
5. West Virginia: 0-9-11-3-2.
6. USC: 2-9-4-0-0.
7. Arkansas: 2-7-7-1-0.
8. ND: 4(crap)- 2-8-1-3.
9. Ohio State: 2-6-8-4-0.
10. FSU: 2-5-5-9-0.
11. LSU: 2-6-3-6-1.
12. Alabama: 0-9-8-0-0.
13. Florida: 1-7-6-3-0.
14. Texas A&M: 2-1-14-4-1.
15. Auburn: 1-8-6-2-0.
16. Minnesota: 1-5-9-3-0.
17. NC State: 1-5-10-0-1.
18. Virginia Tech: 1-6-4-6-2.
19. Stanford: 1-5-6-5-3.
20. Oregon State: 0-6-9-4-0.

Ohio State got the #1 player in the nation, LE Zach Small who is from Alliance, Ohio. They also got the #85th player in the nation, QB D. Harris who is a pocket passer.

Oklahoma got the #3, #5, #17, #47, #62, and quite a few other sub 100 players! Their top recruit is #3 C M. Nichols and #5 FS A. Willis. They also got a lot of stars along both lines.

Actually, here is a quick look at the top 10 players in the nation and where they went:

1. Zach Small, DE - Ohio State. He is from Ohio.
2. Chris Cronin, P(!?!) - Wisconsin. He is from Middleton, Wisconsin.
3. Michael Nichols, C - Oklahoma. He is from Kingsville, TX.
4. Joe Howard, RG - USC. He is from Spring Valley, CA.
5. A.J. Willis, FS - Oklahoma. He is from Arlington, Virginia.
6. Matt Temple, QB - Michigan. He is from Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
7. Herbert McKinney, LG - Tennessee. He is from Evergreen, Alabama.
8. Eric Jean, LT - NC State. He is from Johnstown, PA.
9. Dave Simon, DE - ND. He is from New Orleans, LA.
10. Quinton Lopez, QB - LSU. He is a scrambler with a good arm and he is from Beaumont, TX.

I'm looking over my roster now. It's no wonder, no HB's wanted to join us, we have 7 of them. We also have 4 QB's that are all good.

One of our athletes, Mike Brooks has a really good arm, and we don't need another WR or FS which are his two best positions. So, I'm going to try him at QB! He could be a lethal option QB and scrambler. I'll certainly RS him this year, and see if he can learn the position.

Our other Athlete, Edward Porter, will slide from FS to SS and likely play some this year. If he does well in the spring, he could even win the starting job.

Sanchez looked really good in spring training while Booty has only taken small strides. Will I go with the Sophomore Sanchez or the SR Booty? I'm not sure yet, but I'm leaning towards Sanchez.

Other plays that really impressed in Spring Training:

Fred Davis. Our TE looks like he is ready to be a HUGE part of our offense. Patrick Turner also really impressed. He moves up from our #4 to #1 WR due to our top 3 leaving, but he looks ready for the role. Most of our secondary looks much better. Our O-Line looks like it is going to be the weakest link this year.

I redshirted quite a few of the recent recruits.

I've decided Sanchez will start at QB this year. Booty will be the #2 backup. The speedy Garrett Green will be our #3 QB and might come in if we need a different look.

Washington will remain our #1 back. He is a reliable North South guy. Desmond Reed has worked hard and he will be our #2 HB. He is our most elusive running back and he is among the fastest. Coleman drops to #4 on the depth chart. Stafon Johnson is a redshirt freshman who has good elusiveness and excellent N-S ability. He could take over the #1 spot next year.

Senior Jody Adewale is a very good FB who is almost as good as what we had last year. However, he isn't as good at breaking tackles. But, he is a decent receiving back and a good blocking back. Freshman John Seward will back him up.

Junior Patrick Turner will be our #1 WR. He doesn't have elite speed, but he is a 6'5 215 pound WR who can break some tackles and he has reliable hands. However, there is no doubt he isn't as good as Jarrett or Smith. He is a remarkable leaper however. Donnie Dean our Freshman surprises everyone by showing some good hands in spring training. Furthermore, he is the fastest man on our team and one of the fastest if not the fastest in the country. He will be our #2 receiver. The biggest worry is his lack of strength. Vidal Hazelton is a very good #3 receiver who could have been #2 if I wasn't in love with Dean's speed. Vidal is very elusive, has very good speed himself, and good hands. David Ausberry is our #4. He doesn't have great speed, but he does have very good hands. Jamere Holland another redshirt Freshman is our #5. He has elite speed too, but needs to work on his hands a bit more.

Fred Davis is our unquestioned #1 TE. WR speed with good size (6'4 247) and good hands. Senior Jimmy Miller is our #2 guy. He also has very good speed and decent hands. He is a solid blocker as well.

LT is a position of weakness this year with the untested Jeff Tola manning the position. He is as strong as they come, but needs work on his technique. However, he is probably as good as most LT's in the Pac-10. Our failure to get a backup this offseason is my biggest regret. Our backup LG Drew Radovich will back him up and that is a big drop in quality.

Jeff Byers is an All American LG and is the anchor of our OL. He is among the best there is at the position.

Troy Draper will start at C. He is good, but unproven. Our freshman, Lawrence Harmon will back him up and he is not ready to play extended minutes.

Star Freshman Joe Howard will start at RG from day 1. He is strong and has good technique. He needs to prove himself on this level though.

Sophomore RT Charles Brown will start at RT. This is the position that worries me the most. Charles is undersized and only has decent technique. We must strengthen our T position this year via recruiting.

SR Alex Morrow takes over for Lawrence Jackson at LE. He is good, but nowhere near the superstar that Jackson was.

Jeff Schweiger remains at RE and he is a very solid player who is just below the elite tier. Kyle Moore is a huge DE who is a solid backup to him.

Sedrick Ellis is the backbone of our DL. He is an elite DT with strength, tackling ability, and great pass rushing ability. He has size, speed, strength. He has it all.

Fili Moala moves from kick blocking specialist to #2 DT. HE has excellent size (6'4 302) and very good strength at the point of attack.

We have great depth at DT with Lawrence Miles and Chris Barrett. So much so, that I considered trying to convert one to an OT position.

Thomas Williams steps into our LOLB role. He is fast and a sure tackler, but he doesn't have the pass coverage abilities of his predecesor.

Rey Maualuga moves into the starting MLB role. Not as talented as LUA, but he has good size (6'3 252), strength, speed, and is a hard hitter. He also has good hands, but is not as good as I would like in coverage. David Tuiasosopo will back him up as I redshirted the other freshman MLB's.

Keith Rivers didn't go pro, and I'm quite thankful for that. The SR ROLB is our Superstar in the linebacking corpse. He is fast, he is a very good tackler, He has good hands and he is an extraordinary blitzer. He is also good in coverage. All-American potential for sure.

Our CB's are better than last year. Josh Pinkard has improved and is now one of the best in the nation. Cary Harris has edged Terrell Thomas as the #2 guy. Terrell makes a very good #3 CB. Kevin Thomas is a very good #4 CB and is almost as good as Cary Harris. Great depth and a shut down CB make me feel very good about this unit.

Kevin Ellison had a good year last year, but didn't improve much. He is good, just not great. FS Redshirt Antwine Perez almost passed him on the depth chart in spring training and he has the potential to be a great FS and he has better speed than Ellison. I wouldn't be surprised if Perez gets some first team action by the end of the year.

SS Will Harris is a JR and he is barely holding onto his position. He is the weakest link in oiur secondary, and star Freshman Edward Porter is coming up fast on his heels. Porter has better speed, better strength, better hands, better moves with the ball, but he is not quite as good at tackling. He also has lower awareness and is not as good in pass coverage. I may let Porter do some KR this year.

Mario Danelo remains our Kicker. He has good, but not great power. His longest range is about 45 yards.

Taylor Odegard has improved as a punter and will remain our punter this year.

We start our season hosting Idado. We are #3 from the Pre-Season Polls. All of the experts pick us to beat Idaho. Our scouts believe their offensive talent is weak and their defense is not really good either.

Wow. Sanchez underthrows Davis on a deep pass late in the 1st quarter and they intercept it and return it to make it 6-0. We block the XP and return it the distance for a safety to make it 6-2!

I definitely think there are a few too many blocked kicks, but that is better than NEVER blocking a kick.

Our offensive line is giving me very little time right now.

After exchanging failed drives, I start looking deep more. Hazelton burns his man and Sanchez hits him in stride for a 72 yard TD. 9-6.

Why didn't I make Whitney Lewis my primary PR last year? He is destroying Idaho. A great punt return gives us a short field and two plays later Washington runs it in from the 5. Davis also had a catch for 22 yards on the short drive. 16-6.

Wow. Either my defense isn't as good as I thought, or their offense is better than I thought.

Martin hits Heacock on a deep cross and my SS hits him but doesn't wrap up and he bounces off for a 44 yard TD. 16-13. They also were nailing us with short stuff to get across midfield.

My star freshman Porter, takes the kickoff, runs into a crease, stiff arms one guy, jukes the last defender and goes 98 yards for a TD!!! 23-13.

A few drives later, Sanchez throws a lame pass on an out and they pick it off and return it to inside the 10.

Cary Harris picks off a slant and saves the TD.

Next play, Sanchez hits Dean on a quick hitch, he jukes his man and get a 40 yard gain.

Next play, Sanchez overthrows an option pitch and they recover!

23-13 at the half. I'm surprised we aren't winning by more.

Halftime Stats:

M. Martin of Idado is 11 of 20 for 102 yards with a TD and an INT.

Sanchez is 7 of 15 for 159 yards 1 TD 2 INT's.

We get the ball to start the 2nd half.

Sanchez gets PERFECT blocking on an option keeper and he goes 42 yards untouched down the left side of the field. Great blocking from my freshman WR. 30-13.

Danelo hits a 40 yard FG to make it 33-13 as the 3rd is winding down. Our OL is definitely letting this average to below average team get too much pressure on Sanchez.

Pinkard picks off a little hitch route. However, he picks up an injury on the play. Fortunately, it is not too serious.

Patrick Turner gets called for a clip that negates a 42 yard screen to Reed.

3 plays later Reed takes a quick toss, turns the corner and runs it 35 yards for a TD! 40-13.

Danelo hits it wide left with 8:30 left in the game from 45 yards out.

They make it 40-20 with 5 minutes left and then their hit an onside kick that bounces off my guy's chest into their arms to recover.

We force a 4 and out.

I bring in my second team offense except I bring Green in at QB to utilize his speed.

We drive down the field in 3 minutes and score a TD with 30 seconds left. 47-20.

Game over. 47-20 win for us.

Key Stats:

M. Martin 21 of 40 for 207 yards 2 TD's 2 INT's.

Sanchez 14 of 24 for 236 yards 1 TD 2 INT's.

Garrett Green 1 of 1 for 14 yards.

J. Bird, their star HB, had 21 carries for 25 yards.

Reed had 88 yards on 8 carries for me with 2 TD's.

Washington had 13 carries for 54 yards and 1 TD.

Sanchez had 6 carries for 45 yards and a TD.

Green had 3 carries for 20 yards.

D. Belton led them with 4 catches for 45 yards and a TD

Fred Davis led us with 5 catches for 73 yards.

D. Dean had 3 catches for 55 yards in his debut for us.

Hazelton had 2 catches for 82 yards and a TD. Long of 72.

D. Vobora led them with 9 tackles, 3 for a loss. They had 4 players each get a sack.

R. Jones and J. Wright each had a pick for them.

Keith Rivers led us with 9 tackles, 3 for a loss.

Ray Maualuga had our only sack on them.

Cary Harris and Josh Pinkard each had a pick.

Porter had 3 Kickoff returns for 118 yards and a TD.

Whitney Lewis had 6 PR for 60 yards with a long of 18.

I think our return game is going to be much more dangerous this year.

Brian White of Colorado was the Player of the Week with 19 of 35 passing for 418 yards and 6 TD's against Clemson for a 52-13 win.

Lewis Baker of Oklahoma was the defensive player of the game for 9 tackles, 2 for a loss, 2 sacks, 2 Interceptions, and a FR in a 52-7 win against a Division 2 school.

Today we travel to face a ND team that surprisingly lost to Georgia Tech 27-6 in their first game this season. Their replacement for Brady Quinn, David Wolke suffered against GT with a 14 for 40 game for 135 yards and 2 Interceptions. Hopefully, we can make him do as badly again this week. Thanks to GT jumping ahead early, Darius Walker only got 8 carries for 52 yards last week. Their receiving corp is MUCH less dangerous this year. Defensively, they are still quite good this year. Lee thinks we will win while Kirk is picking ND.

We capitalize on an early fumble by Walker by putting together a balanced 60 yard drive which ends in a 6 yard TD pass from Sanchez to Miller our 2nd TE in a 2 TE set.

Rivers forces a fumble with a nasty blindside hit on the QB and Morrow recovers. We put together a really great balanced drive which ends in a TD pass to Davis to make it 14-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.

They come back with a 63 yard 10 play drive that we stop just outside the 10. They kick a short FG. 14-3.

I knew our return game was going to be more dangerous. Whitney Lewis just found a tiny little crease and took it 87 yards for a TD. 21-3.

On the next kickoff return, Porter just CRUSHED D.J. Hord arguably their #1 WR and broke his clavicle. He is out for most of the season.

Porter is making a name for himself on special teams.. could get some more PT at safety soon.

3 plays later Pinkard picks off a slant.

Unfortunately, they force a 3 and out.

After several exchanged failed drives, Thomas intercepts it on their 25. We put together a 7 play 25 yard drive that ends in a 2 yard TD by Washington. 28-3.

Halftime: 28-3.

Sanchez is 12 of 15 for 92 yards 2 TD's 0 INT's.

Wolke is 9 of 20 for 119 yards with 0 TD's 2 INT's.

Sanchez also has 10 carries for 44 yards.

Walker has 10 carries for 47 yards.

Early in the 2nd half, Sanchez throws a pick on an out and the corner back returns it all the way, but it is called back for holding (the interception stands, but now they are on their own 13.)

Pinkard is shutting down his side of the field. Just great pass coverage.

Cary Harris with a pick on a zone blitz that confused the QB.

Danelo just misses a 45 yard FG attempt.

I stop them on 4th and inches on my 2 as the 3rd quarter ends.

We put together a 11 play 98 yard drive that ends in a 27 yard strike to Washington in the back of the endzone. 35-3.

Time to put the 2nd team offense and Garrett in to start the next drive.

Game over. 35-3 win.

Key Stats:

Sanchez 20 of 27 for 255 yards 3 TD's 1 INT.

Garrett Green 2 of 3 for 38 yards.

Wolke, ND 17 of 35 for 221 yards 0 TD 3 INT.

Sanchez led the team with 12 carries for 69 yards.

Washington had 15 carries for 37 yards and a TD.

Darius Walker had 18 carries for 71 yards.

Hazelton led our team with 6 catches for 91 yards.

Turner had 5 catches for 73 yards.

Dean our true Freshman burner had 4 catches for 68 yards, including a 40 yard reception.

Davis had 3 catches for 20 yards and a TD.

Darius Walker led ND with 4 catches for 44 yards.

D. Grimes also had 4 catches for 42 yards.

Yhomas led our defense with 7 tackles.

Schweiger had our only sack of the day.

Harris, Pinkard, and Thomas each had a pick.

A. Banda led ND with 9 tackles.

J. Brown led them with 2 sacks.

M. Crum had their only pick.

Whitney Lewis had 2 KR for 104 yards and a TD.

Jamaal Charles of Texas was the offensive player of the week after he had 15 carries for 92 yards and 4 catches for 123 yards and 2 TD's in a 52-14 win over Rice.

Chenry Lewis of Rutgers was the defensive player of the week after he had 16 tackles, 8 for a loss, and 3 sacks in a 38-16 win against Navy.

Chris Todd, the QB of Texas Tech, and Ted Ginn are getting the early Heisman Hype.

This upcoming week, we travel to Nebraska for the 2nd part of the Home and Away. Nebraska has one of their most talented teams in years. Their offensive is very good and their defense is even better.

Harrison Neck has been great, completing 35 of 65 for 585 yards 6 TD's 1 INT. But, those 2 wins were against much weaker teams.

Marlon Lucky has 312 yards in 2 starts on 44 carries.

They have a trio of very good WR's and each already has 2 TD's. J.B. Phillips is a very talented TE who has 5 catches for 103 yards already.

Steve Octavien anchors a great linebacking corp that has speed, power, and great technique.

However, all of the experts are picking us to win, which isn't surprising since we are ranked #2 in both polls now.

They force a 3 and out, and then they drive down the field for a FG. 3-0.

Our 2nd drive fails.

A zone blitz confuses the QB on their next drive, and Cary Harris intercepts it.

A long pass to Patrick Turner leads to a short TD run a few plays later. 7-3.

We stop them, then Sanchez throws a long pick to Green.

Pinkard with a pick a few plays later. Pinkard with great coverage this year.

Washington with a fumble in traffic gives it right back to them.

We stop them and then on our first play, a PA pass, hit Turner for a LONG pass.

A few plays later, Washington runs it in again. 14-3.

Pinkard with another pick on a crossing route where he got inside the receiver.

After another big reception by Turner (this time with a big YAC), Washington runs it in again. 21-3.

A few exchanged failed drives, before we drive inside their 5 but have to settle for a short FG. 24-3 as the half only has 50 seconds left.

Porter forces a fumble on the kickoff return which Ausberry picks up and runs in for a TD. 31-3!

Halftime: 31-3.

Sanchez 8 of 15 for 162 yards 0 TD 1 INT.

H. Beck 9 of 22 for 115 yards 3 INT's.

Washington has 14 carries for 82 yards.

Lucky has 12 carries for 54 yards.

I'm almost certainly moving up to Heisman defaults after this game.

Maulauga with a pick on a short slant. Great acrobatic interception.

Sanchez hits Turner on a leaping fade route (Turner is 6'5") on the 1st play. 27 yard TD pass. 38-3.

Turner fumbles after catching the ball deep in our own zone and they recover.

Despite the short field, our defense holds them to a FG. 38-6.

Williams with a great leap to get another pick for us (after we failed to execute a drive.)

A few plays later Washington picks up his 4th rushing TD of the day! 45-6.

45-6 end of 3.

They put together a nice drive and make it 45-13.

Whitney Lewis fumbles the kickoff and they recover.

We exchange a few more drives.

Game over. 52-16.

Sanchez 11 of 22 for 203 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

H. Beck 23 of 41 for 283 yards 1 TD 5 INT's!

Washington 19 carries for 129 yards and 4 TD's.

Garrett Green 2 carries for 63 yards and a TD.

Sanchez 7 carries for 37 yards.

Lucky had 21 carries for 78 yards.

Turner had 7 catches for 170 yards and a TD.

Washington had 2 catches for 21 yards.

T. Lawson led them with 6 catches for 67 yards.

T. Nunn also had 6 catches for 63 yards.

N. Swift had 4 catches for 94 yards.

Maualuga led our team with 9 tackles, 2 for a loss.

T. Williams led us with 2 sacks.

Pinkard led the team with 2 picks.

S. Octavien led them with 8 tackles, 2 for a loss, and a forced fumble.

T. Green had their only pick.

E. Porter had 1 kick return for us today for 44 yards.

Whitney had 4 PR's for 52 yards.

This game sealed it. This was a relatively close in talent team, and since I demolished them and have been getting better, I'm going to Heisman defaults except for a higher kick power for both teams.

Ok, first game on Heisman is against a team we should beat easily. We host Washington State. Their offense and defense are both B- in talent while my offense is a B+ and my defense is an A+. Statistically, my offense is 67th in the nation. Their offense is 60th. My defense is 19th. Theirs is 81st. Their QB A. Brink is 43 of 65 for 652 yards with 7 TD's and 6 INT's. Their HB D. Woolridge leads the team with 246 yards on 43 carries with 1 TD. Their WR L. Bursey is dangerous and has 25 catches for 343 yards and 4 TD's. They are 1-2. We are still ranked #2 in the nation with our 3-0 record.

Our first drive went well until a clipping forced us into a 2nd and 25. They forced a punt just inside their half of the field.

Thanks to a big HB screen and a quick hitch that their WR broke for a long gain, they score first. 7-0.

Brink hit Gibson for the 29 yard TD pass.

We exchange 3 and outs.

Danelo tries a 48 yard FG that is barely short (I lengthed the kick power to 60.)

They proceed to put together a balanced drive which ends in a 7 yard TD pass to their star WR. 15-0 (we blocked the XP but they picked it up and ran it in!)

A quick pass to a Hazelton counters an all out blitz and leads to a 68 yard TD pass! 15-7.

We stop them short of midfield and force the punt.

They stop us on the 5 and we settle for a short FG. 15-10.

We stop them on their own 40 and they punt as the half is winding down.

However, we run a masterful :50 second drive that ends in an 18 yard TD pass to Hazelton! 17-15 with 9 seconds left.

Halftime: 17-15 lead.

Halftime Stats:

Brink is 10 of 16 for 161 yards with 2 TD's 0 INT's.

Sanchez is 14 of 23 for 266 yards 2 TD's 0 INT's.

Woolridge has 10 carries for 33 yards.

Washington has 11 carries for 14 yards.

Sanchez has 2 carries for 10 yards.

In review, Washington State's offense probably shouldn't be rated a B-. Their QB is rated 91 and has a gun of an arm and good mobility. Their top two WR's both are rated 89. They are being smart and are staying away from Pinkard and are working my two weaker CB's Cary Harris and Thomas who are rated 86 each.

We stop them around midfield on their first drive.

Our 2nd play of the half, Dean burns his man and we connect on a 40 yard pass.

We drive inside the 10, but get stopped their. Short FG makes it 20-15 our lead.

Cary Harris misses another tackle on the 4th play of their drive, and it leads to another long TD for Gibson. That is Gibson's 3rd TD reception today. They throw the 2 point conversion to take a 23-20 lead.

Sanchez gets crushed on an option pitch and he dislocates his elbow. That could be his season.

Booty connects on his 1st pass in the game.

Danelo hits a 42 yard FG to make it 23-23.

Cary Harris forces the HB to fumble and Ellis recovers on our 18.

On a PA pass, Booty hits Dean in stride on a deep cross and he pulls away from the defense for a 67 yard TD!!! 30-23.

We force a 3 and out.

Whitney Lewis with a 30 plus yard Punt Return.

Reed fumbles inside the 5 after catching the ball and getting hit immediately.

We FINALLY get good pressure on Brink (despite their lower rated O-Line) and he throws with a guy in his face. It ends up being an errant pass which Rivers picks off and runs back 40 yards for a TD! 37-23.

We force a 3 and out.

3 plays later Booty hits Reed in stride on a wheel pattern for a 38 yard TD. Reed made two guys miss on the run after the catch.

We force a turnover on downs on their 36.

They stop us on 3rd and 9. So, we kick the 38 yard FG to make it 47-23 with 30 seconds left.

Game over. 47-23 win for us.

Brink was 19 of 38 for 315 yards with 3 TD's and 1 INT. Since he was isolating my weak defender, I switched to much more zone coverage in the 2nd half and it worked.

Sanchez was 18 of 27 for 345 yards with 2 TD's 0 INT's before he was hurt.

Booty was 6 of 9 for 168 yards with 2 TD's 0 INT's.

Woolridge ran the ball 19 times for 71 yards.

Brink ran 3 times for 9 yards.

Washington ran 26 times for 84 yards (his avg would have been much better if he didn't lose massive yards on a few option pitch plays.)

Sanchez ran 2 times for 10 yards before suffering the broken bone.

Reed ran 4 times for 6 yards.

B. Gibson crushed us (mostly in the 1st half) with 10 catches for 195 yards and 3 TD's.

Bursey only had 2 catches for 15 yards as Pinkard was all over him.

Fred Davis had 6 catches for 85 yards for us.

Hazelton had 5 catches for 152 yards and 2 TD's.

Dean had 5 catches for 128 yards and a TD.

Reed had 2 catches for 72 yards and a TD.

Washington had 4 catches for 70 yards.

I exited the game and forgot to look at defensive stats.

This week we face off at Washington against a talented team. They are 3-1 and have a great deal of talent on defense. Their offense is also quite good, but not doing well statistcally. They are 75th on offense and 30th on defense. We are 34th on offense and 24th on defense. Booty has become our starter with Sanchez's injury, and Garrett Green the speedy QB becomes our #2.

C. Bonnell is their leading passer with 45 of 88 passing for 602 yards with 6 TD's and 6 INT's.

L. Rankin is a dangerous HB who has 411 yards on 59 carries. He also has 6 TD's.

C. Williams is the leading receiver with 16 catches for 293 yards and a TD.

Sanchez had just broken 1000 yards for the year when he was injured. Washington leads our ground atttack with 73 carries for 304 yards and 6 TD's. Von Hazelton is our leading receiver with 15 catches for 349 yards and 3 TD's.

We force a 3 and out on their first drive.

We end up punting, and they put together a great drive where they convert 4th and goal from the 1 for a TD. 7-0.

That drive was 14 plays that covered 60 yards and ate up 4:42 of the clock.

In just 3 plays we cover 76 yards including a 45 yard bomb to Dean on a fly route where he just beat his lone defender deep. 7-7.

We force a 3 and out.

After exchanging several failed drives, Booty caps a drive with a 8 yard TD pass to Davis. 14-7.

Late in the 2nd quarter, Booty injures his wrist and Garrett comes into the game.

Halftime: 14-7 lead for us as Garrett can't get us into FG range.

Booty was 7 of 11 for 121 yards with 2 TD's in the first half.

Garrett was 0 of 2.

C. Bonnell was 9 of 20 for 112 yards.

Washington has 10 carries for 39 yards.

Garrett Green had 3 carries for 28 yards.

L. Rankin had 11 carries for 28 yards for them.

Booty is back for the 2nd half.

Late in the 3rd quarter, Cary Harris saves a TD with a great interception.

End of 3. We still lead 14-7.

We go 3 and out and punt from our own 2.

3 plays later Pinkard intercepts it on our 5.

With 3 minutes left in the game, Booty throws a bad pick which they return to their own 40.

The next play Rivers intercepts a slant and returns it 45 yards for a TD!!!! 21-7.

They test Pinkard deep, and he makes the pick to seal the game.

Game over. 21-7 win for us.

Booty was 14 of 25 for 196 yards with 2 TD's 1 INT.

C. Bonnell was 19 of 40 for 222 yards with 4 INT's.

Washington had 23 carries for 77 yards.

L. Rankin had 20 carries for 53 yards.

J. Hasty also of Wash had 5 carries for 31 yards.

Our true freshman Dean led the team with 5 catches for 103 yards and a TD.

Washington had 4 catches for 42 yards.

Hazelton had 2 for 35 yards.

Turner had 2 catches for 7 yards.

Davis only had the 1 TD catch.

C. Ellis led them with 5 catches for 70 yards.

Rankin had 4 catches for 48 yards.

Ellison led us with 8 tackles.

Thomas led us with 2 sacks.

We had 7 sacks on the QB today, but only 2 from a DL.

Pinkard led the team with 2 picks.

Gunheim led them with 8 tackles and 3 sacks.

R. Lewis had their only pick.

Porter had 2 KR for 37 yards.

Lewis had 4 PR for 24 yards.

Today we host a 2-3 Stanford team. Their offense has been dreadful all year and is 102nd in teh nation. Their defense is much better and is 41st in the nation. They have 5th year senior T. C. Ostrander at QB and he just hasn't been able to get enough time to throw well despite having a good arm. He is 84 of 160 for 1001 yards with 5 TD's and 6 INT's. Anthony Kimble is a talented HB who has 520 yards and 6 TD's on 90 carries. He has the ability to go all the way on any touch. True Freshman Andy Higdon has elite speed and is always a deep threat and may be their best WR. Hopefully, Pinkard can shut him down. They don't have any other good receivers but they do have another burner.

HB Brandon Andrews is attending this game as our guest. He is one of 3 kids that are still interested in us during the in-season recruitment phase. Andrews would be the elite back that we haven't had since Reggie Bush graduated. He runs a 4.33 in the 40 and has excellent hands with great agility.

It's raining hard today..

Washington fumbles on his 1st carry and they recover inside our 20.

A play later they throw a 15 yard TD. 7-0 Stanford leads.

With 3 minutes left in the 1st, Schweiger tips an option pitch which Moala picks up and runs 42 yards for a TD! 7-7.

On the ensuing kickoff, Hidgon breaks a tackle, spins away from another defender and returns it 98 yards for a TD. He has tremendous speed, and he showed great moves on that kickoff return. 14-7 Stanford.

We fail to get it past midfield, and they put together a powerful ground attack to drive down the field to score a TD to make it 21-7!

With 30 seconds left in the half, Booty hits Turner in stride on a cross and he pulls away from the defense for a 75 yard TD!!! 21-14. That was critical.

A BS Pass interference call on a Hail Mary with 2 seconds left earns them a FG attempt from 48 yards out and they hit to make it 24-14 at the half.

Ostrander is a surprising 15 of 22 for 216 yards with a TD and an INT despite my stellar defense.

Booty is 7 of 16 for 119 yards with a TD.

Their HB and FB each have about 40 yards and are providing great runs.

Their HB also has 101 yards on 5 receptions.

We need to get the momentum back for the 2nd half or this could be an embarassing upset.

Pinkard picks off the ball on their 3 and runs it back to the 40. Big momentum shift from our impact CB.

Adewale takes a rare carry for a long gain as he had perfect blocking and went untouched for a 26 yard TD!!! 24-21.

On the 2nd play of their drive, their HB Kimble bounces off a tackle, spins, and uses his speed to go 68 yards for a TD! 31-21. He has been threatening to break one all game.

Early in the 4th, Booty throws a long pick on an underthrown ball to Dean. They still lead 31-21...

We finally make it 31-28 thanks to a balanced drive that ends with a Washington TD. Only 3:06 left, but we have all of our timeouts. I make a tough decision to kick deep, which is risky because their running game has been very good even with 8 guys in the box...

Wow... first play is a PA pass that Ellison picks off with a great leap and he gets up and returns it for a TD!!! 35-31!

We force a 3 and out and they make a decision to punt it with 2:10 left and all of their timeouts...

Washington and Adewaye carry the ball for 3-4 yards multiple times and get the 1st downs that we need to run out the clock.

We barely avoid a huge upset. 35-31.

Ostrander 23 of 37 for 289 yards 1 TD 3 INT's.

Booty 15 of 30 for 212 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

Kimble 12 carries for 140 yards and a TD for Stanford.

R. Jones 14 carries for 44 yards and a TD.

Washington had 22 carries for 90 yards and a TD for us.

Adewale had 3 carries for 35 yards and a TD for us.

Booty had 4 carries for 17 yards.

Kimble led them with 7 catches for 125 yards.

Hidgon only had 1 catch for 20 yards as Pinkard covered him well.

J. Dray on the otiher hand had 7 catches for 70 yards against Cary Harris.

Turner led our team with 3 catches for 91 yards including the 75 yard TD.

Davis had 3 catches for 31 yards.

Hazelton had 3 catches for 40 yards.

Dean had 3 catches for 28 yards.

P. Griffin led their defense with 7 tackles, 1 FF.

U. Udofia had their only sack.

B. McNally had their only pick.

Maualuga led our team with 11 tackles, 2 for a loss.

We didn't sack him or get much pressure all game.

Thomas, Pinkard, and Ellison each had a pick.

Good news!! Brandon Andrews was apparently impressed with our gritty win over Stanford. The 5 star HB and #1 HB in the country from Berkley, CA gives us a firm committment. He is rated the #3 player in the country. He should make an immediate impact next year..

We also had Ricky Poole, the #1 LT in CA and #4 in the country at the game. He was also impressed and has given us a soft verbal.

Chris Wells, a HB for Ohio State, won the offensive player of the week after having 20 carries for 138 yards and 2 TD's as well as 3 catches for 64 yards and 2 TD's in a 52-28 win over Purdue.

DaMarcus Waldrop of Alabama won the defensive player of the week after he had 4 tackles, a FF, and 2 interceptions in a 51-14 over Miss.

1. Chad Henne, Michigan 195.6, 112 of 173 for 1886 yards 23 TD's 4 INT's.

2. Rudy Carpenter, ASU 192.6, 123 of 179 for 1808 yards 23 TD's 3 INT's

3. Colt McCoy, Texas 188.7 134 of 201 for 2033 yards 25 TD's 4 INT's.

Today we host Arizona in a game that we should be able to win handily. They are 2-3 and their offense hasn't been very good. W. Tuitama has completed 108 of 172 passes for 1219 yards with 10 TD's and 8 INT's. Their passing game is 90th in the nation and their total offense is 101st. Their defense is 26th and has some talent in the back 7.

All of the experts are picking us to handle business at home. I'm hoping a good performance might convince Ricky to give us a firm committment.

I thought I hit post, but didn't. Therefore, the preview and game are all in this post..

The first play they hit their WR on a quick curl, he jukes my corner back and streaks down the field for a TD! 7-0 as Johnson just burnt us..

Turner drops a 3rd down pass ending our drive just past midfield.

As the 2nd quarter begins, Booty hits Turner for a 28 yard TD pass to finish a balanced drive. 7-7.

Cary Harris is getting beaten up and down the field. 14-7. I'm going to move Thomas up to the #2 CB spot next game.

Actually, I'm going to do it right now.

We march down the field in 4 plays ending with a 32 yard TD pass from Booty to Washington. 14-14.

They are mostly in 4 WR sets and they are still picking on Harris (who is my unquestionable 3rd CB.)

We force them into a 52 yard FG attempt and they miss it.

They force a 3 and out as a Washington fumble lost us 10 yards..

We force a 3 and out as Thomas defends 2 passes!

After a pass heavy drive stalls, we miss a 30 yard FG wide left!

Pinkard intercepts it and returns it all the way, but a PI call brings it back

2 plays later Ray Maulauga intercepts it!

Unfortunately, we fail to convert a 4th and 1.

Halftime: 14-14.

Tuitama is 12 of 19 for 245 yards with 2 TD's and 1 INT. Most of the yardage came against Harris and we are doing better with Thomas in the game.

Booty is 8 of 16 for 196 yards 2 TD's 0 INT's.

Their HB X. Smith has 17 yards on 12 carries.

Washington has 11 carries for 42 yards.

Smith with a killer run in which he breaks two tackles gets them a TD to make it 21-14. That was a 14 yard run to end a 11 play 71 yard drive.

We answer with an 8 play 74 yard drive that ends with a 18 yard TD pass to Reed. 21-21.

We force a 3 and out as Thomas defends two passes well.

Why didn't I move him to the #2 CB sooner this year?

Danelo misses a 46 yard FG attempt.

After we stop them, Washington fumbles it for the 2nd time this game. This time they recover.

Rivers forces a QB fumble and Ellis picks it up!

Booty with his 4th TD today and his 2nd to Turner to finish off a 9 play 69 yard TD drive. 28-21. 5:30 left in the game.

We force a 6 and out. 3:40 left and we get the punt.

Washington just batters his way to 1st down after 1st down with 3 or 4 yards per carry. We run out the clock after 4 or 5 first downs.

Game over. 28-21 win. Much closer than I thought it would be.

Tuitama was 18 of 31 for 329 yards with 2 TD's 1 INT.

Booty was 15 of 28 for 302 yards 4 TD's 0 INT's.

X. Smith had 21 carries for 63 yards.

Tuitama had 4 carries for 24 yards including a powerful 16 yard run where he ran over 2 guys.

Washington had 24 carries for 122 yards.

Booty had 8 carries for 32 yards.

A. Johnson had 8 catches for 151 yards and a TD (mostly against Cary Harris.)

B. McCall had 4 catches for 70 yards.

Patrick Turner had 4 catches for 121 yards and 2 TD's.

Dean had 3 catches for 40 yards.

Davis had 3 catches for 37 yards.

Adewale had 2 catches for 28 yards.

S. Larsen led them with 8 tackles, 3 for a loss, and a FF.

They had 4 players each with a sack.

Harris led us with 6 tackles.

Morrow led the team with 3 sacks.

Maualuga had our only pick.

Thomas immediately becomes our #2 CB. I hate to see our secondary next year after he and Pinkard graduate.

Great news. Ricky Poole committed to the team today. He is 6'4 302 pounds and should be a great LT. He is a 4 star athlete.

Booty was the offensive player of the week!

Marcus Freeman of Ohio State was the defensive player of the week after he had 8 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions in a 49-21 win over Penn State.

Now for a look at the 10 ten HB's by yardage gained this year at this point:

1. Shannon Dorsey, Fresno State, 176-1091-10.

2. Matt Forte, Tulane, 140-1076-10.

3. George Bell, VT, 150-1056-12.

4. Carl Stewart, Auburn, 172-1010-8.

5. Gartrell Johnson, Colorado State, 159-982-14.

6. Steve Slaton, WV, 120-975-10.

7. Karlos Whittaker, Navy, 144-967-13.

8. Marlon Lucky, Nebraska, 151-949-10.

9. Jason Harper, Temple(!), 180-945-6.

10. Tashard Choice, GT, 140-933-7.

I don't remember the exact numbers but Harris had a pursuit in the 50's and a low tackling which led to some of the long TD's on big YAC's. Also, despite having superior speed, agility, and strength, he only had man coverage rating in the low 70's and zone coverage in the low 80's. However, he had an overall of 88 and I started him.

Thomas had an overall of 87 and he didn't have quite as good of speed (it's 91 I think compared to Harris who has 98) but he has 93 M2M coverage and 95 Zone coverage rating as well as 75ish pursuit rating. I think that made a big difference in the 2nd half and will be a huge factor against better teams later in the year. I just wish I made this change sooner, but better late than never.

Pinkard's M2M and Zone are both around 97. Like I said, I'm dreading when Pinkard and Thomas graduate at the end of this year.

During the bye week, Kregg Lumpkin of Georgia won the Player of the Week for a 24 carry 217 yard 3 TD performance against Troy in a 42-14 win.

Greg Hinds of Memphis won the defensive player of the week award against Tulane when he had 8 tackles, 2 for a loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, and 1 Fumble recovery.

Today we have one of our toughest tasks of the year as we face Oregon at their field. They have a veteran team that is 6-1 and 21st in the polls. Their run offense is 40th in the nation and their total defense is 17th. While their passing game is 82nd. However, with their dangerous running game, it might open things up for the pass today.

Dennis Dixon is a VERY dangerous running QB who also has a very good arm. He has completed 95 of 152 passes for 1191 yards with 12 TD's and 5 INT's. Dixon is also the 2nd leading rusher with over 300 yards on 45 carries on the year. He also has 2 TD's. Andre Crenshaw is a dangerous compliment. The junior has 732 yards on 124 carries. He has 8 TD's. Jaison Williams is the leading receiver with 32 catches for 385 yards and 1 TD. Jordan Kent has 4 TD's and is a deep specialist.

Patrick Chung is a top flight LB who leads the team with 41 tackles and he leads the team with 4 interceptions. He also leads the team with 7 passes deflected.

After watching a week of practice, I've decided to promote Kevin Thomas to the Nickel back. Cary Harris drops from starting CB to our dime back.

We force a 3 and out with good pass defense after stuffing the HB on 2nd down and 4.

We put together a great drive thanks to converting a 4th and 1 on the 40. We end it with a 4 yard TD pass to our backup TE out of a 2 TE set. 7-0.

After exchanged failed drives, Thomas the new starting CB, makes a great interception.

Danelo hits a 46 yard FG to make it 10-0.

After multiple great defensive drives, they beat Pinkard deep and he misses a tackle and they make it 10-6 with 3:20 left in the half. We blocked the XP.

The very first play of our next drive, we call a PA pass. Dean uses his phenomenal speed on a fly route. Booty throws it 50 yards and hits Dean in perfect stride for an 80 yard TD pass! 17-6.

A balanced drive ends in a short TD run. 17-13. Their QB had a few big runs on that drive as he is breaking down our spy scheme.

Booty throws his second pick of the half as the clock is winding down in the half.

Halftime: 17-13 lead for us.

Boort is 10 of 17 for 129 yards with 2 TD's 2 INT's at the half.

Dixon is 10 of 15 for 148 yards with 1 TD 1 INT at the half. Both of us have most of our yards on 1 big pass play.

Washington has 7 carries for 44 yards.

Booty has 5 carries for 23 yards.

Dixon has 6 carries for 30 yards.

Crenshaw has 9 carries for 25 yards.

Dean has 2 catches for 85 yards.

J. Williams has 4 catches for 54 yards.

We get the ball to start the 2nd half.

Booty throws his 3rd pick on the drive, but we strip the defender and Dean recovers it.

Danelo hits a 48 yard FG to make it 20-13. That was his longest FG of the year.

Dixon with great running and passing to tie it up 20-20 with 4:10 left in the 3rd.

Early in the 4th, they hit a 53 yard FG to make it 23-20.

Booty throws his 4th pick of the day on an underthrown ball

We hold them to a 44 yard FG. 26-20.

Reed (in for an injured Porter) has a 54 yard kickoff return to give us a short field.

Washington catches the ball inside the 10, but fumbles it on a big hit. They recover!

Good pass defense forces a 3 and out.

They blitz on our first pass and Booty quickly throws it to Fred Davis. Davis bounces off a defender, stiff arms another defender and runs it 49 yards for a TD!!!! 27-26.

Dixon with a great option keeper for a 32 yard TD run to make it 32-27 (we tackled him to stop a 2 point conversion when he tried to run it in.)

Booty with another terrible throw and pick

Crap. They hit a 55 yard FG to make it 35-27. 2:40 left in the game.

We drive inside the 20, but Booty throws yet another pick in the endzone. His worst game ever dooms our championship season.

Game over. 35-27 loss.

Dixon had 87 speed, and a 90 arm. Great plays from him all day doomed us.

This was an instant classic game with a classic score of 732.

Booty completed 22 of 40 passes for 283 yards 3 TD's 6 INT's!

Dixon was 18 of 30 for 304 yards 2 TD's 1 INT.

Washington had 18 carries for 97 yards.

Booty had 11 carries for 65 yards.

Dixon had 16 carries for 116 yards and a TD.

Crenshaw had 16 carries for 71 yards and a TD.

Fred Davis led us with 5 catches for 95 yards and a TD.

Turner had 4 catches for 49 yards.

Dean had 3 catches for 88 yards and a TD.

J Williams led them with 6 catches for 67 yards and a TD.

T. Thomas led us with 8 tackles, 1 for a loss, and 1 interceptions.

Morrow led our team with 2 sacks.

Chung led them with 7 tackles, 1 for a loss, 2 sacks, and an interception.

That loss drops us to #7 in the polls and now we host #11 Oregon State (to be played tomorrow or possibly Sunday.) We must bounce back against another tough team.

That loss also conviced RG Aaron Heffner not to come to USC. Instead, he is going to Louisville which is a big disappointment as we he a top tier G. We only got 2 of our 12 early recruits to sign. At least they were at key positions.

Today we travel to play Oregon State. They have a very good QB in Ryan Gunderson. At least, he isn't mobile. However, he has a very accurate arm. As a result, he has completed 168 of 252 passes for 2110 yard with 24 TD's and 10 INT'S on the year.

Yvenson Bernard is a top tier HB that could start for any school in the nation. He has 848 yards and 12 TD's on 127 carries.

Jimtavis Walker is a very good #2 HB.

Sammie Stroughter is a dangerous WR who has excellent speed. He has caught 45 passes for 558 yards and 6 TD's. Anthony Wheat-Brown is almost as good and he has 34 catches for 458 yards and 6 TD's.

Statistically, their defense is 7th in the nation, but the only true standoust is FS Al Afalava who has 21 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 2 FF.

Their first drive, they shred us with running and passing ending with a TD pass to Wheat-Brown.

Our first Drive Booty throws a pick around their 40.

We stop them, or so we think, but they connect on a punk fake pass for a first down. 6 plays later they throw another TD pass to make it 14-0.

Our first play of the next drive, Washington finally breaks a run up the middle, cuts back to the outside, and goes 66 yards for a TD!!!! 14-7.

They put together another lethal drive that cuts through our defense. 21-7. After a 12 yard TD pass to Stroughter.

21-7 at the end of the 1st.

Hazelton drops a 3rd down pass, and we have to punt. Our defense needs to stop them this time.

We force a 3 and out.

This time it's an option pitch. Washington runs over the corner back, then stiff arms the safety down the field for a 61 yard TD!!! 21-14.

Another great drive. Our defense is getting torn up. This time, the FB runs it in from the 1. 28-14.

Except for one PA pass to Dean for 22 yards, Washington runs it every time on our next drive and finally runs it in from the 6 yard line. Great drive for Washington. 28-21.

Rivers sacks the QB and forces a fumble. Pinkard picks it up.

Booty overthrows a wide open Davis in the endzone on our 1st play.

Unfortunately, Washington is stopped on 2nd down, and on 3rd down Booty throws a good pass, but Davis catches it out of the back of the endzone.

Danelo hits a 35 yard FG to make it 28-24.

With 4 wideouts, they pick on Harris again for a long TD. 35-24 with 1:06 left in the half.

Using timeouts and running out of bounds allows us to get off a 10 play 72 yard drive which ends in a 12 yard TD pass to Ausberry!! 35-31 and we get it back in the 2nd half.

Halftime stats: 35-31 Oregon State leads.

Gunderson is 14 of 19 for 305 yards 4 TD's 0 INT's.

Booty is 8 of 14 for 124 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

Bernard has 10 carries for 40 yards.

Washington has 15 carries for 179 yards and 3 TD's.

Wheat-Brown leads their team with 5 catches for 104 yards and a TD.

Our catches are spread out to 7 different receivers.

Dean and Reed both drop key passes on our next drive and we punt.

Their HB runs over Ellison, our best safety, and knocks him out of the game.

They put together an unbelievable drive in which their QB scrambles for a 1st on 3rd and 8 (despite his 56 speed) and they finally end it with a 22 yard TD pass (he does have 98 accuracy with a 91 arm strength.) 42-31. That was a 14 play 91 yard drive that ate up 4:55.

Oh my, 2 plays later Washington breaks off another long run. He ran over 2 guys on this play for a 59 yard TD run. 42-38.

Pinkard with an AMAZING leap for a pick. That was only the 3rd time they threw it his way.

Unfortunately, they stop us on a 3 and out and we punt.

Fortunately, we pin them inside their 10. A holding penalty and then a sack get a 3rd and 20 on their 1.

We force a punt from their 5.

End of 3. 42-38, they lead.

We put together a great 45 yard drive which ends in a 17 yard TD run in which Washington spun away from a LB, ran over a CB, and hurdled a safety for a TD!!! 45-42. I knew they tackling was bad, but didn't realize it was this bad.

On Bernard's next carry, Rivers drills him and knocks him out for the game.

We focus on the pass, and force a 3 and out.

After Washington bludgeons them 5 times in a row, We bring Reed in, pitch it to him and he runs it 52 yards untouched for a TD!!! 52-42.

They miss a 53 yard FG after a medium length drive. Now, we just need to run out the clock.

We run the clock down to 1:15 but fail to convert 4th and 1.

Pinkard with another pick to seal the deal.

Game over. 52-42 win (despite getting interrupted several times by my wife.)

Gunderson was 22 of 32 for 432 yards with 5 TD's 2 INT's.

Booty was 10 off 22 for 127 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

Bernard had 16 carries for 64 yards.

Washington had 31 carries for 342 yards and 5 TD's!!!

Reed had 5 carries for 64 yards and a TD.

Booty had 7 carries for 32 yards.

Wheat-Brown led them with 7 catches for 130 yards and a TD.

Stroughter had 4 catches for 131 yards and 3 TD's.

Dean led us with 1 catch for 41 yards.

Washington and Turner each had 2 catches for 8 yards.

Afalava led them with 8 tackles.

Van Orsow had their only sack.

Thomas led us with 9 tackles.

Thomas and Maluagua each had a sack.

Pinkard had 2 picks.

Today, we travel to play Cal. They are 5-4 on the season. Nate Longshore is their QB nad he has a cannon for an arm, but he is very immobile. He has completed 180 of 312 passes for 2420 yards with 25 TD's and 14 INT's. He has very good accuracy to go with his powerful arm. Marshawn Lynch is simply one of the top 3 RB's in the country. He has speed, strength, agility, tackle breaking ability. He has 160 carries for over 1200 yards and 6 TD's.

Robert Jordan and Desean Jackson are a very good pair of WR's (better than my top 2.) They have 49 and 45 passes respectively for 635 and 556 yards. Their offensive line is the weakness of the team.

Defensively, Anthony Felder is one of the top LB's in the country. He leads the team with 55 tackles and 6 sacks.

Their corners are the weakness defensively. They have very good safeties and a good front 7, but hopefully we can pick on the cornerbacks who are young and inexperienced.

At the end of 1, we are up 14-0 thanks to great passing and very solid defense.

Ray sacks the QB and Thomas picks up the fumble and returns it for a TD to make it 21-0..

Ridiculous. I felt like I was watching the 3 stooges as their QB threw a quick slant to Jordan and he had 4 guys around him who all dove for him collided with each other and let him get away for a Long TD. 21-7.

We put together a strong drive to make it 28-7 on a 5 yard TD pass to Davis.

They get a BS PI call on a hail mary at the end of the half that sets them up for a 44 yard FG. 28-10.

Booty is 12 of 20 for 231 yards with 3 TD's 0 INT's.

Longshore is 11 of 15 for 192 yards 1 TD 0 INT's.

Washington has 13 carries for 39 yards.

Lynch has 11 carries for 17 yards, as their poor O-Line can't get him any room.

Jackson catches a short pass, jukes one guy, stiff arms another, and goes 78 yards for a TD. 28-17.

A strong drive ends with a 7 yard TD pass to Washington 35-17.

A safety and 39 yard FG make it 40-17. Time to bring in the 2nd string offense on the next drive.

Thomas with a pick. With 8:20 left I decide to give the 2nd team a chance to score.

Garrett Green has the wind knocked out of him, and we put Booty back in and he throws a 12 yard TD to Ausberry to make it 47-17.

Garrett throws a pick on his next drive, and they put together a long drive that ends in a TD pass. 47-24.

Garrett Green runs it in on our next drive to make it 54-24.

Longshore hits Jackson for a quick slant and he burns my backup secondary for a TD. 54-31.

They recover this onside kick (we recovered the last one.)

Longshore throws another TD pass but fails to convert the 2 pt play. 54-37.

Game over. 54-37 win.

Booty was 24 of 36 for 367 yards 5 TD's 0 INT's.

Garrett Green was 2 of 4 for 30 yards 0 TD's 1 INT.

N. Longshore was 26 of 34 for 490 yards 5 TD's 1 INT.

Washington had 21 runs for 83 yards.

Garrett Green has 5 for 53 yards.

Desmond Reed had 7 for 26 yards.

Marshawn Lynch had 14 runs for 36 yards.

Turner had 6 catches for us for 90 yards and 1 TD.

Washington had 5 catches for 100 yards and 2 TD's.

Davis had 4 catches for 44 yards and a TD.

Dean had 3 catches for 22 yards.

Adewale, the FB had 3 catches for 35 yards.

Lynch led them with 11 catches for 122 yards.

Jackson had 4 catches for 173 yards and 2 Td's.

Jordan had 4 catches for 152 yards and 2 TD's.

Thomas led the team with 11 tackles.

Morrow and Ellis each had a sack.

Thomas had our only pick.

T. Decoud had 9 tackles for them. D. Hill led them with 2 sacks.

B. Hampton had their pick.

Today we play at 10-0 ASU who is currently ranked #2. They are led by Junior(RS) QB Rudy Carpenter who has one of the most accurate arms in America. He also has good mobility. He has completed 223 of 334 passes for 3254 yards 37 TD's and 8 INT's. He is averaging over 325 yards per game. He has a pair of great HB's in Keegan Herring and Shaun Dewitty. Keegan has 868 yards on 127 carries and 9 TD's. Shaun has 62 carries for 404 yards and 7 TD's. Rudy Burgess is an All American WR with great speed, hands, and agility. He has 75 catches for 1324 yards and 22 TD's!! His longest is 85 yards. Mike Jones is just as good as my #1 and he has 51 catches for 525 yards and 3 TD's. Zach Miller is one of the best TE's in the nation and he has 30 catches for 501 yards and 5 TD's.

They have a very good left side of the line and the right side of the OL isn't bad. Their defensive line has top tier talent across the board. Their linebacking corp is great at OLB but weak at MLB. Their CB's are decent but not very good. Their safeties are above average.

Should be a shoot out.

Our first drive, we get inside the 20, but Booty overthrows guys in the endzone twice. We settle for a 30 yard FG. 3-0.

Thanks in part to a holding call, we stop them just inside our half of the field.

Washington gets an option pitch on our 1st play, and he stiff arms the safety and manages to go all the way!! 80 yard TD. 10-0.

They put together a balanced drive to get inside the 15, but we stop them there! Short FG makes it 10-3.

2nd play of our drive, Washington catches a ball in the flat, gets nailed by their star LB and fumbles it. They recover.

Inside the 5, Pinkard cuts in front of a pass intended for Burgess and picks it off and returns it to the 20.

#10 Tryon picks off a hitch route intended for Dean and returns it all the way for a TD. 10-10. 7:26 left in the half.

They force a 3 and out on our next drive.

On 3rd and 11, the QB throws it deep into a crowd.. Thomas picks it off.

After a long pass to Davis (big YAC) we get stopped and Danelo misses a 52 yard FG wide left.

On the first play, Carpenter throws it as he is being hit and it sails off target right to Pinkard! He intercepts it and returns it for a TD!!! 17-10. Pinkard is having an amazing season.

Rivers nails the HB on their next play, and Ray recovers it!!

Wow, we get to the 1 yard line, but get stopped trying to run it on on 1st and 2nd down and a 3rd down pass is stopped short. We kick the 20 yard FG. 20-10 with 40 seconds left in the half.

Great passing and a spectacular catch by Burgess get them into FG position and they make it 20-13 at the half.

Booty was 9 of 18 for 120 yards with 1 INT in the 1st half.

Carpenter was 12 of 19 for 135 yards and 3 INT's in the 1st half!

Washington has 9 carries for 119 yards and a TD.

Herring has 8 carries for 28 yards.

First drive for them, 3rd play, we sack Carpenter and break a finger on his throwing hand. He is expected to be out for at least a quarter.

2 plays later, Rivers sacks the QB and forces a fumble. Morrow recovers!

Inside their 20, Washington has his 2nd fumble of the day as he was fighting for yards in a crowd.

We stop them short of midfield and force a punt.

A well balanced drive ends with a 5 yard TD pass to Turner. 27-13.

We force a 3 and out.

A 11 play 62 yard drive that ends in a 1 yard TD run by Washington puts us up 34-13.

Carpenter is back in the game.

Carpenter throws a wild long pass to Ellison, but he drops it

Pinkard went for his 3rd pick and missed it giving Burgess a wide open path to the endzone. 34-20 with 7 minutes left in the game.

2nd play of our drive, Washington runs up the middle with great blocking, cuts back to the outside, stiff arms the safety and goes 74 yards for a TD!!! 41-20.

Ellison picks off a long pass and almost runs it back, but the QB tackles him.

With a 41-20 lead and 3 minutes to go, I bring in our 2nd team offense.

On 3rd and 13, Garrett Green throws a pretty 21 yard TD strike to Hazelton. 48-20.

Game over. 48-20 win.

Booty was 18 of 32 for 240 yards with 1 TD 1 INT.

Garrett Green was 2 of 3 for 24 yards with a TD.

Carpenter was 18 of 30 for 248 yards with 1 TD 4 INT's.

D. Shaw was 4 of 6 for 48 yards in the 3rd quarter. 0 TD's 0 INT's.

Washington had 19 carries for 213 yards with 3 TD's, but 2 fumbles.

Booty had 4 carries for 24 yards.

Garrett Green had 1 carry for 11 yards.

Desmond Reed had 4 carries for 8 yards.

K. Herring had 14 carries for 32 yards.

Dewitty had 7 carries for 23 yards.

Fred Davis was our leading receiver with 4 catches for 108 yards and a TD.

Hazelton had 4 catches for 60 yards.

Washington had 3 catches for 15 yards.

Adewale had 3 catches for 45 yards.

Turner had 3 catches for 16 yards.

Reed had 1 catch for -2 yards.

Burgess led them with 5 catches for 93 yards and a TD.

Zach Miller had 5 catches for 70 yards.

Rivers led us with 7 tackles, 2 FF.

Ellis led the team with 2 sacks.

Pinkard led the team with 2 picks.

J. Barrett led them with 6 tackles.

T. Morant had 2 sacks.

J. Tryon had their only pick.

Hopefully, this win moves us up in the BCS standings..

Well, that win moved us up to #3 in the media and coaches poll.

Unfortunately, their are still 2 perfect teams and they are ahead of us. Also, playing a 4-7 UCLA team last isn't going to help our ranking much.

BCS Rankings:

1. Michigan 11-0.
2. Texas 12-0
3. USC 10-1
4. Alabama 11-1
5. Tennessee 11-1
6. Louisville 10-1
7. FSU 11-1
8. Virginia Tech 11-1
9. Miami 10-2
10. ASU 10-1

Michigan's next game is at New Mexico which they will likely win easily. They beat Ohio State 38-24 in their last game.

Texas beat Texas A&M 45-14 in their last game and is done their regular season.

Despite his relatively poor game, Burgess is still getting a ton of Heisman Hype as is his QB, but the bad performance definitely hurt Carpenter's chances.

Bobby Reid of Oklahoma State won offensive player of the week again after he completed 19 of 25 passes for 253 yards and ran it 19 times for 155 yards with a total of 6 TD's in a 45-36 win over Hawaii.

Chadd Evans of Tulsa won defensive player of the week after he had 12 tackles, 8 for a loss, and 4 sacks in a 24-14 win over UK.

Jeff Byers, our 98 rated LG, is an award finalist for the offensive linemen of the year.

Josh Pinkard is the leading candidate for the Thorpe Award. Interestingly, Cary Harris is a finalist too. He did have a good number of interceptions despite giving up a lot of yards.

Travis Draper, our 90 rated C, is a finalist for the Rimington award.

None of our other players are award finalists.
