SO glad it's not me first this time.

THis is the best part I think...making picks! well and reading the stats of how our players did. That's the other best part!

With the first pick of the basketball draft, Autumn's Autumnites select ...

Carlton Charles, 6'10" center from Cambridge, Idaho.

There were many great prospect out there, but the Autumnites couldn't pass on the chance for the #1 prospect in the country. Charles can score like no one's business, pull down the boards and get up for the blocks. We hope this will be the beginning of a very illustrious career.

heh. I was going to take the guard, but in trying to avoid a punter situation here, I looked at the scoring and decided Charles would probably be a scoring beast.

With the second pick Team Zinto selects...

Michael Thomas, 6'5 Guard out of Camas, Washington.

Thomas looks like the stud guard and was the number one prospect on our board. A good scorer who shows flashes as a passer along with good play on the defensive side of the court we are hoping that his strong play in high school continues through out his career.

1. C Jay Jackson - West Point, VA

Truly elite all-around players are getting pretty thin on the ground, IMO. Jackson may well be one of the few left who fits that designation. It's also a pretty undersized crop of big men, and Jackson is one of the few guys who has the weight to legitimately bang inside.

The size of the big men scares me. It seems that there are only a couple that have a legit chance in the NBA.

Jackson strikes me at first glance (without seeing anything else) as a possible variety of Elton Brand I won a title with in an MP league - a short, but heavy PF who scores and shoots well, bangs the boards, and doesn't kill you on defense.

Will get more updated later tonight. Sorry, have been dealing with a heeadache for the past 3 days. Seems like a mix of sinus and eye strain.

May be later as I take my daughter to her lacrosse practice tonight.

He is the right size for someone who could make a big impact in the NBA, I just don't know if he has the skill to do so. He might not even have enough skill to make an impact in college.

When I saw the size I had to put him on the list to see if anyone would take the a gamble. Will be interested to see what happens to him regardless of whether or not anyone drafts him.

I have a feeling he's not going to last until my pick in the third round, so I'm going to go ahead and grab the class's top point guard by far in my estimation. He can score, dish, and steal the hell out of the ball. Plus, in a class of a lot of awfully short guys at their positions, he's got the size to be a legit point guard or combo guard at the next level.

I had the same problem in the football one where my DT and another guy's DT both went to Cincinnati I think we both lost really. My guy didn't last long in the pros I recall.

Doesn't score a ton, but a guy that plays defense like that probably has a bright future.

so when did we start using boldface and having a format? Is basketball for rich guys and football for poor guys? Is that what we're saying? Or is this now merged with WW?

With pick number 2.8 the Autumn Autumnites will take ...

C - Jon Sowder - Knox, ID

This is a league for centers, and we think Sowder gives us the best value at this spot. He can grab the boards and block like a monster. With some luck he might end up a PF in the pros.

And with pick number 3.1 the Autumn Autumnites take ...

PF Mike "Mickey" Mickens - Talledega, AL

His Tallegada Nights are over as Mickey moves off to college. He's got quick hands in the passing lane, can work the boards, is the best passer among the PFs, and is no slouch when it comes to points and blocks. We can see him being a SF in the pros with that skill set.

One of the top scorer of the Power Forwards we are excited to add Vaughn. Hopefully he can fill a teams need in the post as an above average rebounder and defender.

Yeah, I had Vaughn down there on my list as well. I thought Mickens' high school stats looked better, but as the football thread showed, anything can happen.
